To bring a serial killer to justice, I’ll have to risk everything
A fae serial killer is on the loose targeting humans and I’ve been brought in to track him down. Except there’s a catch—I have to work alongside Corbin Frost again.
Corbin is hot as hell and acts as if he owns me because he’s the only one who knows about my unusual fae powers. The reason he hasn’t turned me in is because I’ve got dirt on him, too. Dirt about his hidden demon side, which I think might secretly like me.
It doesn’t matter that I might feel the same. If we want to survive this case, we’ll have to keep our wits about us. This serial killer leaves his victims unrecognizable. He’s bad news, and I’ll do whatever it takes to bring the sadist to justice.
Even if it means going to the one place I shouldn’t—the land of the Fae. To remain unnoticed, I’ll need to rely on protective magic and put my trust in Corbin, although it could get me killed...
Mehhh. I couldn't get myself to finish the last 20% or so. Im just not truly understanding our H. she is all about running into danger, helping cobin, yet doesn't want romance with him because that's to dangerous? What??? She all but explains to her grandmother, yes Im a complete mess running into situations I have no place running into because it really will out me And I'll end up in a place worse then death. But at least im not dating the unseelie guy? Her thinking and rationality is just something I can't wrap my mind around.
Wow, I gotta say Lindsey Devin really doesn't know how to start a novel. The last one started with a defunct bathtub. This one is a broken coffee maker? So boring!!! And the series is THE OPPOSITE of boring! I recommend just skipping the first chapter altogether.
There was much more Fae stuff this time which is always fun. Fantasy political intrigue is a staple with them. Another criminal investigation with a fairly predictable twist. Also, Tempie gets a horse! Fortunately, her nana has a barn in the backyard? Sure, whatever. I'm into it.
Heavy use of only one room and othet tropes. Just let them have sex already like adults! Then you won't need to rely on cheap tropes. TBH I'm just salty they haven't done it yet. The steam is still a light breeze.
Overall, I enjoyed the book. It's not the greatest but it's a good weekend read. Fair warning, it ends with the cliffhanger from Hell.

Although I still like the characters well-enough, this book was a bit of a dud. The mystery wasn’t much of a mystery so much as it was an excuse to send the characters to Faerie where readers are introduced to the Unseelie Queen and her right hand.
Ultimately, not much happens and the book ends on a cliffhanger.
Unlike book 1, this one ends in a cliffhanger. Instead of a stand alone story that can be wrapped up in one book, despite an over arcing series plot, this one really digs deep into that meta plot and focuses on it. I appropriate that - because while the author could introduce more cases for these characters to play with, it suits the meta plot to advance - and that means it’s time to get to THAT story.
I thought this was a solid continuation from the previous book! I think I rly enjoyed the action scenes from the first book which this second book lacked a bit. But what lacks in action makes up in romance and it was nice to see how tempies and corbins relationship progressed. i think I liked it more when the setting was in the earth realm in the previous book but still this was a fun read.
A whole new world to get into, I liked Tempie and Corbin, liked that they worked so well together. Can’t wait for the next one, though I hope she doesn’t forgive Todd too quickly.

After the last job, Tempie has decided to take some time off.
Uncertain about her future, she knows she deserves a break and is unwilling to work for her boss. Not after the way he treated her during the last contract.
When Corbin shows up in need of her help in catching a serial killer who made bail, Tempie find herself missing the thrill of the investigation.
Things between them are different.
He knows what she is.
She knows he is more than he shows.
And they have an unspoken rule to not bring up their kisses.
They are just coworkers.
This is just another job.

Notes:
🔸 Superficial & insufficient information
- The introduction to this world is still lacking.
- Barely no background history.
- No definitions about beings and their relationships between each other.
- There is no mention of what their powers are or do nor really how they work. It simply says something like "her power lashed out against the dark tentacles trying to find a way to her" or similar.
🔸The investigations
Better this time but it still feels like they grasp pieces of information out of nowhere, especially when they use their powers (which is not really explained), and get to somewhere in the investigation.
🔸 Inconsistent
Especially with the use of powers
Maybe because we don't really know how their power works but it feels like they use their powers for some things but not others they could also have used them. Other times they have to hide their powers but then they don't.
Don't get me started on the jewellery. They sense the magic on it but no one even thinks to take it off her? Especially when they know jewellery can be used to control powers??
🔸Romance
This is probably one of the few pluses in this book. It is slow going. They both feel there is something going on between them but they haven't made the jump yet. Tempie knows it is not very smart to be so close to someone who is part of the Unseelie Court, so she just wants to focus on the job. But every once in a while they do let themselves soften a bit towards the other.

As always my complete respect for the author and their work. No hate nor hurt intended with this review.

I had my ups and downs about this one. I had a great time with the first book and enjoyed the ups and downs there, but Tempie is testing some boundaries and I’m not entirely sure I’m cool with the boundaries she’s okay with keeping up. But I do appreciate that the author first has her go through everything logically before setting her on a path. It usually irritates me when characters do things without thinking them through.
I like the story. Corbin is a good guy. The set up of the world is cool. Their trip to Faerie was cool too, it gave off nice vibes of “otherworld” without being too crazy, making it feel more like a trip oversees since there’s magic everywhere. The low opinion of humans seemed flinty to me only because there weren’t enough of it going around to stick, and that kinda drove the point home (aside from the spoiler I won’t name). I feel a lot for Corbin in this one and it bummed me a bit, but the ending kinda made me want to shake her for thinking the way she did. Still, what a cliffhanger. Sleazy bad guy. Crazy scary serial killer. Adorable horse.
Overall nice with some romantically frustrating moments. I LAUGHED real hard at some points. And the covers are beautiful.
Decent at first but the plot fell apart in the finale—major plot holes and inconsistencies. My other big problem was how the MC runs into danger clearly not having any kind of plan and without a believable reason beyond being the self-sacrificing goodie-two-shoes that has to save the people or whatnot. But at the same time the book never even tries to create any kind of emotional connection to the victims. The only thing we ever see is random mutilated corpses without any emotional attachment whatsoever. There isn't even any kind of time pressure to save potentially kidnapped people at all. The magic in this series is incredibly vague and can kind of do anything. While the MC was hiding her magic and the entire thing was this cat-and-mouse game this wasn't too much of a problem but this changes at the end of this book. If you go to confront an incredibly powerful bad guy with completely unknown abilities I expect you to have some sort of plan. Some sort of shielding magic you know will work or an inkling that you can overpower your opponent. Not this coming with a knife to a gunfight kind of thing. I feel hesitant calling it tstl because it is a bit more subtle than the classic tstl but its no less stupid. It's just less obvious.
I feel like I’m missing a huge part of the storyline. Being. Solace Nymph is supposed to be amazing, powerful, etc. but we dont know what they can do (or rather what Tempie can do). We’re walking blindly but are supposed to know she can do all these things that others can’t? See portals, trace energy signatures, see them, etc. but no one else can’t? Why?
Also, Tempie is still a damn idi0t. Instead of making SMART decisions she makes the worse possible ones because “oNLy sHe cAn sTOp tHe mURdeRs”. Then acting like a child so the Corbin stringing him along playing dumb. It’s so hard to like her character. There’s no growth. No maturing. She’s just an immature girl playing grown up. She can’t admit her feelings. She can’t make rational decisions. She doesn’t think ahead. So annoying.
I like this book just like the first one, but it did take me a little bit of reading to remember things about the characters from the first book in the series. Tempe I did end up going to Faye to try to figure out what was so important about the dead bodies that’ a killer left behind. She ended up going with Corbin as is pet. Unfortunately, I don’t believe the queen believed that ruse. Corbin finally realized his feelings towards Tempi and I think she might realize her feelings towards him. The ending was a cliffhanger I wasn’t too excited about that. I still haven’t figured out why Tempi’s blood is so exciting to the Faye and where are her own Sealy people?
What an interesting ride these two take us on. I liked and enjoyed the book a lot, it was a great read. The world building was just right, not too much as some can do but enough for you to see and feel everything. Tempie and Corbin make a great pair both working and will obviously be even better together as more. There's definitely plenty of action to stop you getting bored and I look forward to the next book but I don't really like such big cliffhangers if I'm honest, other than that it's a great read.

The gig is up, she’s gotten one bounty, but she wants more….
When the fae partner, she wants to hate, asks her to join him on another case, she’s in…..no real hesitation for Tempie. She knows it’s not smart, but she wants more than the life she’s been living. Both of these two are learning that they’re half bloods of rare toes that not only work well together, they like it. The characters are fun, the action keeps things moving, and the little thrill they give each other makes it worth the risk for them.
Technically a good premise, but sooo many inconsistencies. Small ones like a room having no windows and a few pages later MC looks out of a window in that same room, forgetting to pick weapons that were thrown away back up, etc. MC is also supposedly suuper powerful and can do all kinds of things others can't but also gets bested constantly. A whole lot more worldbuilding would have been nice: Explanations about the magic system, ANYTHING about Seelies, more info about the world in general. Oh yea, and brain cells. Functional ones preferably.
I found myself skimming this book in the last few chapters just to get it over with.
The editing was not great. There were many inconsistencies. Tempie would be talking to Corbin in person and then it would say they were on the phone or she would arrive somewhere on her bike but next thing you know she’s in his car. It’s jarring. She dropped her magic gun and never retrieved it. I know this is a fantasy book but that kind of stuff took me out of the story.
Overall, good. The main thing I wish the author had flushed out or added more depth to why being a solstice nymph is awful. Like the underlie want to drain her, for a power up, but her specific magic isn’t really given much detail. Also, if she is so untrained, how does she magically make it through the portals by herself, and able to see all the doors when no one else can?
I enjoyed the book, but wish there was more detail in those areas.

Tempe and Corbin go to Fairy to get information from the bodies of dead humans. There is a serial killer on the loose Earthside. The problem is how can Tempe hide who she really is. The plot gets tense and Corbin and Tempe discover there is chemistry that they have tried to deny
A quick trip to the Fae realm…that’s all it was supposed to be. Her Seelie powers masked so no one would know what she was. But a summons from the Unseelie Queen makes this trip more dangerous than they imagined. When they are both sent through portals, Corbin to Hell and Tempie to Faerie things go sideways in a hurry.
This was a great addition to the series thanks to the well written story line which was engaging and kept me reading from start to finish. I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.

I was so excited for Tempie to go to Faerie. Typical far machinations going on. Daniel needs to die. Of course we never find out what Ralnar is up to. I admit I'm not a huge fan of the cliffhangers. I'm hooked though so I can't wait for the next one.
Wow this is a thrilling adventure as Tempy finds herself in ever increasingly dangerous situations as she trys to help Corbin with his current task. Fast paced, thrilling story. Highly recommended.
Bounty Claimed, the second book of the Solstice Huntress series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). I enjoyed the characters, but there wasn't much plot progression in this segment of the series. I'm curious enough to know how this ends, so I'm picking up the last book.
Wow, stop this one has a cliffhanger. I'm ready to have a heart attack. I should've known what was going to happen it's in the blurb for the third book after all. I can't wait to see how it works out.
My rating is actually 3.5 and it would be a 4 if not for the very poor proof reading which I overlooked it book 1 but irritated me in this book. That aside an easy entertaining read with some interesting characters and magic. A nice palate cleanser.
The plot thickens! And some more gruesome things happen. A smidge of relationship development but not a ton. I really like Corbin’s character. And poor Gram, I feel so bad for her.
I really enjoyed this book. The enemies-to-lovers you started in Book 1 continues but now Corbin and Tempie somewhat know they are meant to be together. Good writing and character development. Look forward to Book 3. 😊
This is an absolutely wonderful book. I really enjoyed reading it. It’s so addictive. I read it in one setting the characters are absolutely fantastic. It got twist and turns and totally full of surprises. I can’t wait to read the next book.
