Shin and Shige—actors at various stages in their careers—are secretly lovers, and to give Shin’s career a chance, Shige decides to keep his distance for a bit, a decision Shin is firmly against. But Shin’s newfound success is causing a different issue—their renewed intimacy has Shige feeling very possessive of him. Now that he has to share his lover with the world, will Shige’s dark feelings turn him from the princely character into the villain?
This series is good, not GREAT. I like it but i don't LOVE it.
The story is interesting enough but I'm just not a huge fan of reading about celebrities it's a bit boring for me. But I do like these characters. If I stumble across the other volumes for cheap, I'll read them, but I won't be going out of my way to continue this series
*Original Review 12/20/2021* Everyone is so blushy! It's cute though.
Didn't like this volume as much as I remember liking the first one, but I still liked this one. Shin (I almost called him Shinichi lmfao. Nana reference anyone?) is so pure and cute. I just want the best for him. I have a love/hate with Shige. I don't like the way he's just doing things on his own in what he thinks is best without consulting Shin. However! I do really like how like dark and jealous his character can be? Like he's got such a hostile disposition that makes the story a little more "evil." I'm definitely interested in what's to come especially with the drama Tatara's obvious developing crush is going to bring.
Side note: Does Hanasaki know that Shige is the boyfriend?? I don't think he ever actually told him, but he seems to know? Like did he just realize after the situation with Tatara or is he just thinking the situation with Tatara will cause trouble in general because he knows Shin has a boyfriend. It wasn't super clear.
*Reread 3/3/2024* Binge reading is definitelyyy helping my enjoyment. I'm actually really liking this reading experience.
This is a great volume two for the series. I loved seeing Shin and Shige in university and how they started to get into acting. I'm really happy to see Shin starting to open up and I sadly feel like that is going to cause a riff in their relationship because Shige is staying the same and already in these two volumes I've seen Shin change so much. Also the ending with Tatara's little blush throws another curve ball into their dynamic and I'm very interested to see what is going to happen in the next volume
I enjoyed this volume a bit more than the last one. I'm still really iffy on the sex scenes in this series.
Shige and Shin continue on as they worry about how their relationship will survive their growing popularity. Shin is still worried about not being able to give Shige the intimacy he wants - and I personally am not a fan of sex scenes where one partner is clearly in pain and not enjoying it anywhere near as much as their partner. It takes like three or four times before Shin even mentions feeling the slightest bit good during it and that was just hard for me to read, to be honest.
Moving on, I really liked Shin's progression in friendship with his fellow actor Tatara-San. In this volume, Tatara warns him away from letting his career fail, the way his own did, because it's clear Shin loves the art form for all the right reasons. He goes out to dinner with Shin, gets drunk and Shige finds them in what sort of looks like a compromising position. Shin tells him it isn't what it looks like, but we get a scene later where Tatara-San looks a bit smitten over how adorably shy and excited Shin is about being friends with him, so maybe it's not entirely impossible Tatara-San might develop feelings for him. (Let's be real, considering what usually happens in BLs, he will end up with the idol).
I also liked seeing how Shin and Shige met and how Shige fell in love with him. That was cute!

Shin and Shige, young aspiring actors and secret lovers, are both gaining traction in their careers and it’s bringing all new feelings to the surface. Will the pair continue to keep their relationship a secret from the public? And how will they each deal with these new feelings of jealousy? Another great volume.
4.5 stars maybe? I loved their backstory. Really satisfying description of how they met and fell in love - through high school drama club, fittingly. I wonder if that will come to light once the public starts seeing more of them hanging around each other (and pretending to be "just friends"). It's a good story and honestly is something their fans would eat up without necessarily suspecting the romantic angle.
The "breakup" or "go on a break" talks seem to have been suspended, since neither of them actually wants to be apart. Shige is, as he feared, becoming more and more possessive, but Shin accepts and even appreciates his jealousy. He's an actor, too, so he understands the world they're in but still feels his own jealous pangs when Shige has to do romantic scenes in his movies/shows/advertising gigs. So he actually kinda likes being on the other end of it, knowing that Shige has things he's struggling with as well.
I like that even in the midst of these kinds of scenes, they still make an effort to check in with each other. When Shige storms off after seeing another actor drunkenly clinging to Shin, he makes sure to text that he's not mad, he just needs to cool off a bit before he comes home. And when he does get home, they talk about it in detail and Shige reassures Shin that he knows perfectly well that Shin wasn't doing anything wrong. It's his own problem that he's trying to deal with. But Shin doesn't want him to struggle through that alone, either.
It's actually pretty remarkably healthy communication, and it comes from the strong base they built in their drama club friendship: when Shin recognized that Shige's princely persona was just him acting, and gave him a space to be fully himself. Shige, on the other hand, had noticed the stuttering outcast Shin in their first year, and thought he was absolutely brilliant in the school festival play. So it's no wonder they fell in love.
That also answers how Shige got into acting: it was entirely due to Shin. Whereas Shin credits his success with Shige's unwavering support. They're codependent, but in a kinda nice way.
Outside of their relationship, Shin's working and social lives are picking up a good amount. He already has his idol friend, but is now forming a connection with a veteran actor, too...whom I like but who unfortunately looks like he's going to develop a crush on Shin. Honestly, I'd kinda liked the enemies-to-lovers potential with that guy and the foul-mouthed idol, but I guess that's not where it's heading.
Lots of interesting characters, though, and I like how much each of them is developing.
Really more of a 2.5 or 3 but since I didn't like it that much, I'm ranking it below 3.
I found the premise and dynamic interesting in the first volume, but the more I read and the more I see of the smut scenes, I don't know how much of that remains true.
The couple isn't selling me that much on their love (because Shige is becoming more and more unlikable for me) and their dynamic is becoming more unsettling.
I'm all for dub-con in fiction since when done well it can be hot for that kink and I'm more than familiar with the seme/uke dynamics and the kind of stuff you find in a lot of yaoi.
BUT the smut scenes where Shin seems to be very visibly and vocally in pain and Not enjoying it makes me not want to continue this. I'm really not into that shit.

This volume was definitely better than the last. The flashback scene of how Shige and Shin met and fell in love with each other was really sweet, and kind of made me more on board with these two getting their happily ever after.
Shige's possessive side really rears it's ugly head at times in this volume, but Shin doesn't seem to mind. I think Shin is the more confident one in their relationship, which is interesting, because he's the shy, reserved one in the relationship. Also, we get ourselves a potential rival for Shin's affection, from a veteran actor, whose star may not be burning as bright now. It shall be interesting to see what drama this new development creates.
4/4.5 stars. I liked this volume a lot. The backstory that it provided (so cute! Could read a manga just about that!) really helped me understand where the characters are coming from, and it helped me better understand the dynamic between the main couple. Shin is still super cute, and Shige, the love interest that I called a shithead last review, grew on me. He's still shady, but I have a better feel for his personality and it worked in the hot, possessive guy type of romance trope lol It was lots of fun. On the steamy and dramatic side compared to cute and fluffy. The side characters were fun too. I'm definitely looking forward to continuing the series now.
I think the next one I will probably give it more stars but right now I just can't. I do like the characters. The storyline is interesting with being famous and how to go about doing that while you are dating a other actor before you become famous. However I just feel that one of them are just a bit more aggressive then they need to be with his partner in the bedroom. But I do understand a bit why he is like that. I will continue to read this series but I'm takening a break from it for a few. Can't wait to read it though
I’ve been looking all around to find the second of this series and I finally was able to find and read it. The art is amazing, and the story line is amazing. Their love for one another is growing in this book, and Shin and Shige both are still dealing with their acting career that is blooming. If you haven’t read the first one you need too, and definitely this one. I know I’ll be on the hunt for book three.
This story is very sweet! Romantic from the beginning! The second books propose some issues for a oír lovers now they begin their road to stardom and it’s about to keep reading to see how they manage. Their love seems strong enough to survive all the hurdles they might get and their intimacy is just too precious! This is a book to relax and read with a cup of coffee and enjoy beautiful characters.
Sachimo-sensei skillfully develops these characters further, delving deeper into their internal conflicts and emotional growth. Her refined and expressive artwork remains a standout, conveying strong emotional nuances in every scene.
This volume adds new layers to Shin and Shige's relationship, introducing deeper complexities in their dynamics and exploring the consequences of their choices. It engages readers emotionally, following a journey filled with tension and hope for the characters.
While we do get some cute back story, a lot of this volume is jealousy, angst, and miscommunication if they aren't actually in their apartment together, which is a really hard way to live. Hope these two can find some comfort and common ground sooner rather than later, because they look pretty desperate and rocky at the moment, which is even more sad given how clear it is they both want to be together.

Continuing to fall in love with these two. Seeing Shige get jealous and Shin start to try and move his career forward. I cannot wait to see what is in store for these two. Also the side characters are a delight. I can tell we are going to have a love corner/love triangle situation on our hands soon and I cannot wait.
This story goes more into the background of our two leads and how they knew each other from high school. Our main characters' relationship is getting hot and heavy, with a hint of drama and I'm here for it. If you like a sweet and sexy love story between actors, this is the BL manga for you!
And now we might have a love triangle on our hands, something that will hook me into wanting to read the next volume. The story does well to capture and depict the jealousy and the fantasy sequences. The characters are well-written. Some dialogue translation feels a little off, but that can be easily looked over.
Sweet, sweet, sweeeet. They’re so good for each other. Getting to see a peek at Shige & Shin’s beginnings and their past just warmed my heart so much. I know there will be a downfall because of more misunderstandings and I don’t know if my heart will be able to take it.
It's probably the fact that I'm a little under the weather but I found it hard to stay focused on this volume. I felt like it hopped around and I was getting a bit confused. Still really enjoyed the plot and the characters.
