Sigh…. Gertrude Gertrude Gertrude. I love every book more and more. I love Galvid or is it Crude? And I wait with baited breath as I turn each page hoping this will be the book the two of them find out what we all see- they aren’t just two seniors trying to run a PI business, they aren’t just two old coots up to shenanigans from Maine to South Dakota. They are meant for each other. When will Gert look at Calvin and see that he followed halfway across the country to be with her? That even though he hates cats he lives with how many of hers? That he remembered she wanted Dairy Queen? When will these stubborn companions put their love glasses on and really SEE each other. I got so many glimpses of that in this book. So many of those moments between them almost like a moment so quick you might miss it- which made it all the sweeter.

And that was only one tiny aspect of the story. Like all of Gertrude’s stories there was a murder to solve. An innocent grandmother who also happens to be an ace cowboy shoot competitor has been murdered and Gertrude has been hired to find out whodunnit. To find out Calvin and Gertrude (Crude? Galvid?) go deep undercover. It will require costumes! Oh boy does it ever! And some shar shooting skills by our boy Calvin. But can Gertrude solve the case before someone else is killed? My money is always on Gertrude!

Absolutely GREAT! 😁 Gert in her bloomers and stockings and Calvin's reaction 😌 was my FAVORITE part. 😉 I was hoping he was finally going to tell her how he felt but NO. 😞 The cowboy shooting setting was very interesting and fun and I really hope some of those characters are in future stories. 🙏 I love this series. 😍

Another great Gertrude adventure. Mystery and twists and excitement. Maybe even a softening of Gertrude and Calvin's feeling toward each other. Can't wait to see what trouble Gertrude gets into next! Hoping to find out soon.

I love Gertrude and Calvin more with every book Robin Merrill writes. And Gertrude running around in bloomers and a camisole with boots on takes the cake! And it leaves Calvin speechless as well. I love every book in this series!

As expected, this book was a hoot! I loved being able to see a new side of both Calvin and Gertrude as they really committed to becoming a part of the Wild West, Calvin with his shooting prowess and Gertrude for her taste in clothing. So much fun!
