Lesbian erotica sizzles in this return to The Club, where the clients watch and make love to each other in the UK’s sexiest women-only nightclub.
Welcome back to The Club. The rules are the same but the players have changed. Mandy still runs her unique nightclub. These days she’s ready to bring love and passion back into her own life, but finding it? Well, maybe the universe has a sense of humour. Lindsey has come out late in life and is looking for a confidence boost, and a club regular is only too happy to help her out. Caitlin would love to test her limits after being shamed by an ex for her desires. Jody thinks no one will want to be intimate with her again after a tragic accident left her body forever changed. Her best friend Kris has other ideas. Joanna and Suzanne have been together for years. They’re still in love but something’s missing. Maybe The Club can help add some zest to the bedroom? Laura has overcome most of her grief from losing her wife, but wonders if she still has it in her to be intimate with someone.
Whatever they need, they can find. Anonymity, sweetness, sexiness, and unexpected opportunities abound at The Club, as Mandy watches over them all.
This tantalising follow-up to the award-winning The Club can be read as a standalone book.
A.L. Brooks was born in the UK but currently resides in Frankfurt, Germany, and over the years she has lived in places as far afield as Aberdeen and Australia. She works 9–5 in corporate financial systems and her dream is to take early retirement. Like, tomorrow, please. She loves her gym membership, and is very grateful for it as she also loves dark chocolate. She enjoys drinking good wine and craft beer, trying out new recipes to cook, and learning German. Travelling around the world and reading lots and lots (and lots) of books are also things that fight for time with her writing. Yep, she really needs that early retirement.
4.5⭐ THE CLUB Revisited is sexy erotica with a touch of romance. Set in the first all-female sex club THE CLUB, it is the long-awaited sequel to THE CLUB, which was released in 2016. As in the first book, the red line through the story is the sex club run by Mandy and her team. I really liked the interweaving of the different storylines, they are like individual short stories connected by the club, which gives it a framework and thus makes the book one story.
We meet different women who visit the club for different reasons to make new sexual experiences and live erotic fantasies. They are warm-hearted, sometimes insecure but brave women who jump over their shadows to live out their wishes and desires. Each guest has their own personal reasons why they visit this place and we get them to know enough to understand what drives them.
This book is not just pure erotica, the women have stories that went to my heart, especially Laura's and Jody's. I can't and don't want to imagine what it would be like to lose my wife, would I ever be able to touch another woman again? To find love again? I think I would have a very hard time. Or how Jody has to accept her disability after a tragic accident and she has to find her self-confidence again, and the knowledge that her personality is not determined by a missing body part. This is hard work you have to do, to feel whole again.
The sex scenes are erotic and hot, the sex in the red room (BDSM) is of the light variety, so don't expect hard BDSM sex.
The romance begins one evening when Mandy greets a new guest. When she recognizes her, emotions and sizzling memories are flooding her body, taking her by surprise. It's the woman she had hot sex within a restroom some 20 years ago, never saw her again, but never forgot. That interlude was even part of the reason she started The Club. The reunion awakens long-forgotten feelings and longing in Mandy. Is it really possible that she too, get a chance to find love once again?
I think some of us find ourselves again in one or the other woman. As much as this club is intriguing, I'm not sure I would ever have the courage to visit such a place, but the book is so well written that it felt like I was sitting at the table as one of the guests, enjoying the erotic sex scenes in the green, blue and red room.
If you like erotic interludes with some real storylines, you will enjoy this book as much as I did. My only minor complaint is the book is too short, only about 140 pages long. I would have liked more of Mandy and Laura and the visitors.
My rating 4.5 stars Thanks to Ylva Publishing for receiving an ARC for an honest review.
Oh my! A.L. Brooks owns the magic key to writing sizzling erotica wrapped in a fine layer of compassion. It is the compassion for each character which takes this book to the next level. We get to know the different characters very quickly and understand why they are seeking sexual fulfillment at the sex club. These characters are women we know or have dated or are ourselves to a degree. Brooks gains our empathy for her characters which turns each encounter into a more personal viewpoint. This adds an extra zing to the erotica as we find ourselves as the voyeurs. If you only read one book of erotica a year, this is a must read.
I received a free ARC from Ylva Publishing and the author for my honest review.
The Club is one of my favourite erotic books in lesbian fiction, so I was beyond excited to get my hands on an ARC of this instalment.
Although it's been five years, the author does a great job of bringing readers up to speed without having to read book 1 first. In short, this book can be read as a stand-alone.
If you have read book 1, you will notice some common themes and troubles most women can relate to in some form or another. I did a happy dance early on when the author, through her character, delved into a very real problem for some (me) that I've never seen tackled before. Kudos for that. I feel validated. Am I going to say what? Hell no.
Like book one, this is a fabulous piece of erotic fiction. My only gripe is that it was a lot shorter than I anticipated. I would've liked more on Mandy and especially the resolution, but we don't always get what we want.
Highly recommended.
Thank you to Ylva books for the advance reader copy.
The Club Revisited was one of the most anticipated sequels this year, even for me who hadn’t read the first book until recently. And I’m very happy to say Brooks didn’t disappoint. The story picks up where The Club ended, and while it’s not exactly necessary to have read the first book to enjoy this one, I strongly recommend it. It’s a really good book, for one, and Mandy’s story, at the very least, deserves to be read in order.
I won’t get into the details of what The Club Revisited is about. It mostly takes place in the club of the title – a sex club for women in Manchester – and, beyond the sex-with-strangers theme, offers snapshots of wlw lives. Whether these women want to try something new, enjoy anonymous sex, or like meeting up in a safe environment with the same people each time, whatever their stories are, the common thread is how human, how warm Brooks manages to make them feel. These stories could feel clinical and cold but they never do.
I’m also very impressed at the way Brooks keeps the sex fresh and new. There’s a lot of it in this book obviously and it never feels repetitive. One of the things I loved about this book, and the one before, is that while it’s definitely erotica, it’s also more. I’m all for pure erotica, I love a well-written sex scene, and I’ve had a lot of fun with some of Paris Rivera’s stories or Paisley Smith’s, among others. Sometimes, that’s exactly what I want. But for those days when I want to know a little more about the characters, their motivation, what makes them tick or not, A. L. Brooks’ Club novellas are perfect.
If you want to know why Brooks decided to gift us with this sequel, she explains everything here. And there’s a link to a free short story about one of the characters.
I received a copy from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
4.25 stars I really enjoyed The Club, so when I heard A.L. Brooks was writing a sequel, I was all about it! While the first was 4 chili peppers in hotness, I would say this was just under a 3 but still good. The most impressive part for me is the diversity of the women and/or couples in the scenarios, so those not always represented can actually see themselves in these pages. To find out what they are, I suggest you read it for yourself and find out. :-) For those concerned or turned off by BDSM, no need to worry. It's included but very light. Being clueless about the availability of clubs like this actually existing (and by this I mean, by women and for women) it sure provides food for thought. I mean - you can watch and/or participate, it's safe and consensual. It's all about being accepted and wanted sexually exactly as you are. There's a lot that's appealing there. It's an intriguing idea and the stories behind the characters that visit the club are as well. I'd be up for a third in this setting!
My my my…. The Club Revisited is so darn hot, sexy and erotic… The sexy scenes were so well-written that I don’t find it sleazy. Not at all. Sure, some scenes would have maybe made you gone all red and flustered… but I don’t mind it one bit. Just don’t read it in public though 😊 And hey.. we’ve got a HEA for Crystal-Blue Eye and Ms. Green Eye. So I guess that’s a wrap for this series 🤔
I loved The Club and was excited to spend more time in this sex club for women. I always say I am not a BDSM fan but the final couple in the red room was pretty special. I love how happy I felt for all the women seeking comfort, new experiences and adventure.
Well done Ms. Brooks. Feel free to release more books featuring Mandy's club. I love them.
This book is just wow 😯 so well written, love the fact of how the stories are so well elaborated, git was just magnificent! Steamy all the way 🔥 this book is outstanding!
An ARC copy was given to me by YLVA for a honest review.
This book is full of suprises and different stories of strong women, which want to enjoy their selfs without prejudice. Each woman search for something different and the author shows us, that nothing should stop us to enjoy our selfs.
The strories are hot and steamy and I recomnend this book for cold evenings.
I enjoyed this much more than I expected to. It's not just well-written, hot, sexy erotica in different flavors, but also about the women at the club, and how they changed from their visits to the club by being able to express or explore their desires. The negotiation and consent between two strangers were in themselves hot, too. Seeing two (or more) women getting what they wanted on their own terms was satisfying in itself.
I had to read it right after finishing The Club, because I was so curious about Mandy and Laura. Too cute!
Everything I said about The Club is still valid for The Club Revisited, but this time I enjoyed so much Jody and Kris, and Suzanne and Joanna storylines. I had to sigh, laugh outloud, and cheer at the same time.
I would read a whole novel about their story.
Now... I'm left with thinking that... communication is the key to everything...
The Club Revisited returns us to Mandy’s unique sex club, with a cast of new characters out to discover or rediscover what it is they really desire.
Mandy is slowly realizing that maybe she isn’t really as happy being single as she once thought, and then a blast from her past turns up to experience the club, and the chemistry they had for one night, more than twenty years ago still seems to be simmering between them.
And while all of this is going on, in one of the three rooms in her club, there is a new cast of characters, all searching for something, which inevitably led them there. From learning to communicate to reignite a stagnating marriage to coming out, the reasons women visit vary, but they all end up finding what they are looking for.
It’s low angst and very erotic. The sex scenes are imaginative and never repetitive, and there are a lot of them. Which makes sense, considering the theme of the book. It’s safe to say there is something for everyone, all tastes are catered for, and I can’t imagine anyone making it to the end unsatisfied.
That being said, the erotic side of the book wouldn’t work as well as it does without the storylines surrounding the characters. They are only short snippets, and there are some I prefer over others and would love to read more of their story, but it works well in this format. Be sure to check it out.
A strong cast of personalities looking for their own methods to express themselves. I was pleasantly surprised to read insightful accounts of women who had to deal with traumatic events like accidents or the death of a spouse. Both slow-burning, mood-driven romances and hot ones can be found in a well-balanced language.
Loved "The Club" and though time has passed, I was able to seamlessly enter it once again 5 years later. Mandy has excelled in providing a safe environment for women to visit, explore and expand on their sexual wants, needs and desires. The characters are sometimes slightly flawed, graying, not physically perfect or emotionally stagnant but I grew to enjoy all their stories/connections which were whew - hot! Erotica wrapped in warmth that I read without pause and wished the book was longer. Ms. Brooks has delivered another hit once again that left me satisfied but still wanting - crazy. Highly recommend and on my re-read shelf.
I rec'd a copy through Ylva Publishing and this is a voluntary, unbiased review.
A.L. Brooks did it again! Just like The Club - and it's not necessary to have read it - The Club Revisited is a great erotic wlw book.
@AL Brooks: Is there another sequel any time soon 😜
It's a sizzling, sexy story about diverse characters where Brooks explores different layers of her MCs and also side characters. And, it's all consentual.
Hot, sexy erotica with a side of romance. Each chapter tells it’s own story and is bound to the others via setting and some characters. From new to experienced, single to married, young to middle-aged, the women in each chapter tell their stories through their experience of the club. The author features a variety of persons and gives us relatable characters. And the ending is sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.
Worth the wait! Although it's not necessary to read The Club first, why wouldn't you? I remember thinking "holy cow" when I read it five years ago, who is this new author I've never heard of? And now I'm fairly sure I haven't missed any of Angela Brooks's books. What really worked for me is that this actually reads like a collection of short stories bound together by one common Club, so there's a nice variety. Something for everyone, indeed.
I am going to be short. This is the sequel to the debut novel by the author, The Club. If you enjoyed the prequel, you will certainly enjoy this one. If you thought The Club was hot, steamy and interesting, well, wait until you read this one. If you needed a fan, you'll need more than that with this one. That's it, that's my review. One more thing, just read it!
3.25 Stars. This is an interesting way to do some small/ short stories without having to anthologize them. At least this is what it seems to me. I didn't read the original The Club, but thought to check this out just to see what the hype was all about. I can see the appeal. It is full of women loving women exploring their sexualities in positive ways. That pretty much sums up the whole vibe: it's a series of micro stories wrapped around a sex club for female identifying people.
While I am not really an erotica fan, I will say that Brooks goes out of her way to make consent and checking in sexy. This is good! I loved that about the book. Erotica can devolve into very non-consensual situations very quickly, and while there can be a place for that, I like that more erotica makes it sexy to check in with your partner. Even the BDSM section was full of setting up boundaries and working together to have a fulfilling experience.
I think if you like erotica, this will be for you. If you like Brooks' writing and The Club I think this might be a nice follow up to the novel. If you like the idea of anthologies, but find the different writing styles off putting at times, then this is a nice middle ground. While I didn't find a lot here for me, I think this is a lovely sex-positive and affirming read.
*I received this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I really appreciate the respectful way the author writes about the many different reasons people come to The Club and the way that the participants in the different scenarios discuss what will work for them and what won't. I also like the wide diversity of people in the scenes.
A little more depth to Mandy's storyline and maybe a little refresher on the backstory of Nina and her partner would have increased my enjoyment of the story but all in all it was a good read and something I could see myself rereading in the future. You know, for reasons...:)
Well written erotica. Each chapter is a separate encounter woven together by the backdrop of the club and the club owner. Undoubtedly hot, but I found myself more interested in the back stories. I’m aware that means I’m missing the premise of the no strings lesbian sex club. I guess the anonymity just doesn’t appeal to me. It is a good book though and the sex scenes read authentically.
These books gave me exactly what I needed. WLW smut. Right to the point.
Loved the perspectives from the different couples, and how these books addressed real life issues and complications when single or in committed relationships.
Mandy’s club continues to be successful with new visitors coming by to provide a series of experiences and personal stories. Join Mandy as she tries to find love, Lindsey as she searches for a boost to confidence, Caitlin exploring the boundaries of pleasure, Jody recovering from a traumatic experience, and Joanna and Suzanne as they try to spice up their relationship after years together.
I adored being back with Mandy, at her wonderful club and meeting all the new characters who came by for a visit. Each chapter provided new perspectives, provoked more thoughts or emotions, and presented questions and things to think about, while enjoying the fact you got to join different characters on their very unique and different experiences. The emotional connection to each and every character was strong, catching up with old friend and making new ones alike.
Each experience brought something slightly different. Each character had their reasons for visiting the club and every one demonstrated the importance of the safe place Mandy provided and how it could help everyone overcome or explore something different about themselves or their situation.
I was so happy to catch up with Mandy. It felt like celebrating her success and getting to join her on an adventure of her own in finding love and being unsure how she would approach such a thing. Mandy is a character who stole my heart a little in The Club and I still very much admire and love her just as much now.
Although the story follows on from The Club the beauty of it is, you do not have to have read The Club to understand and enjoy The Club Revisited (although I highly recommend you do!) I can’t recommend this story enough, it has everything from erotic and intimate moments, to emotional and romantic, and so has something for everyone.
I don’t usually like books with BDSM themes, but I read Brooks’s The Club a few years ago and enjoyed it. Brooks is a very good writer and a great storyteller, which always lifts any book above its content matter.
Like its predecessor The Club Revisited is a great read, because in spite of being a series of vignettes about different people, it is essentially a character-driven novel. Many short stories don’t allow the reader to really get to know the characters because of the limitation of their length. But in the hands of a skilled author we can learn what we need to know about a character within the context of their story, so that we can learn what drives them. Unlike other novels that seem to be a series of short stories cobbled together by a feeble premise which superficially unites them, Brooks weaves the story of the Club, its owner and employees throughout the stories, so it feels like a genuine, complete novel.
It is this concern for characterisation that raises The Club Revisited from enjoyment, prurience or disgust (whichever way the reader may swing) of its subject matter into understanding, tolerance and acceptance. Which is always a great thing. So, it’s a pleasant surprise when seemingly meaningless sex turns out to be meaningful after all.
The Club Revisited can be read simply as erotica if that’s all you’re after, but if you like some depth to your erotica, then Brooks really delivers. It’s a worthy successor to the original.
Note: I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I got a free advance review ebook from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
For a book about a series of casual encounters at a sex club, this is surprisingly sweet! This book is a sequel to "The Club," and follows a similar format with and revisits some familiar characters. It is not , however, necessary to have read the previous book.
"The Club Revisited" is about the fantasy of the perfect casual (mostly) sexual encounter, where everyone finds the perfect partner for their particular situation and desires in a safe, happy sex club. Doubts are overcome, problems resolved, everyone has a wonderful time.
Although there are elements of (very sweet!) romance, this is not a "romance" book per se. It's better thought of as a loosely linked series of short stories, some of which are romantic. There's great variety amongst the stories and the types of relationships portrayed. I especially appreciated the focus on middle aged women (many characters are in their forties and fifties).
If you're looking for narrative light but still sweet and happy erotica, this book is a good pick!
The Club Revisited was a great read. But if you are not a fan of erotica then this is not the book for you.
I never read the first book, but was easily able to follow along. It definitely made me want to read the first book. The book revolves around a women’s only nightclub. But it is not just any nightclub. It is a club where women are free to explore their desires in a safe space.
The chapters revolve around different characters and their experiences as they go to the club. The characters were well written and had depth to them. So although the book is erotica, it is erotica with feelings and character development. I got very involved with the characters and it made me want to read more of them.
All new members, each looking for their own sexual journey. This time, though, owner Mandy gets to have her own experience - not just at the club, but in life.
A wonderful follow-up to The Club. While it is not necessary to read The Club to enjoy this book, it definitely adds to it. Getting to go through Mandy's journey was wonderful to see and get tid bits from the other characters was great. Each chapter and characters were great and enjoyable and steamy. Highly recommend for fans of erotica.
Really enjoyed The Club so was excited to see a sequel. I am a fan of AL Brooks’ stories so it’s hard for me to say but this one left me a bit disappointed. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great read, I was just expecting more. Unlike in The Club the story of the women who attend the club in this book didn’t seem to be as fleshed out.
