Princess Lena is trying everything to shed her party girl image, and takes a drastic step. She runs away leaving her royal family and status. But it's not easy hiding from her Brothers.What happens when world's best tracker Shane McRae who is also her ex comes after her, will she be able to guard her heart?
Former Soldier Shane has many demons haunting him, but is determined to protect Princess Lena at any cost, what he didn't expect is find a sweet, beautifully vulnerable Lena and his growing feeling might be his Ruin.
It took me a while to get into the story, the storyline felt overly descriptive especially at the start. Once I got used to the pace I was happy with the writing with back and forth drama.Both Lean and Shane were great characters, raw and real. I just loved Lena.
I was really happy with the way their relationship progressed. The angst was so good with many intense scenes.
The ending felt rushed to me it gave me a whiplash
Overall it was an enjoyable read if you like slow burn romance then definitely check it out.

Ruin by Aarti V Raman is a hot Enemies-to-lovers Billionaire Bodyguard Romance. It is also the second book in “Bastard Billionaires” romantic suspense series. A sexy, slow burn, age-gap romantic suspense featuring a sassy and daring Royal Princess heroine, and an alpha, brooding protector hero, I enjoyed reading this book so much!
Though part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone but still I would recommend that you read "To Love Honor and Defy" first so you understand the back story of the protagonists and the overlapping characters.
I met Lena and Shane in "To Love Honor and Defy" and was so intrigued by their characters. Here they get their own story and it was such a sensual as well as heartbreaking one.
Shane and Lena share a past that is unknown to anyone and that ended in heartbreak seven years ago. While it is apparent that both love each other still, there are too many secrets, lies, and misunderstandings between them. Now that Lena's life is in danger, Shane is back to protect her and I loved each second spent following them as they tumbled to their happily-ever-after.
Lena and Shane’s past had me going misty eyed, and their yearning for each other had my heart breaking, These are tortured characters and each emotion they feel is acutely felt by the readers, all thanks to Aarti V Raman’s captivating narration. The world building is immersive and the story sucked me in right from the start. Everything felt so real that you won’t be able to keep the book down until the end.
The romance is intense albeit a slow burn. It is hot, angsty, dark and soul searing. I loved how it took the protagonists on a path of forgiveness, redemption, and a happily-ever-after that will have you sighing in pure bliss!
The suspense is thrilling but it is the romance that takes the main seat.
While I sat engrossed throughout, I did feel that this book could have been shorter and the ending could have been better handled. It gets closure but feels a bit rushed.
All in all, Ruin by Aarti V Raman is a sensuous and emotionally rich romantic suspense that will keep you hooked throughout. If you love enemies-to-lovers, slow burn, hot romances with sexy, brooding protector heroes, and flawed yet fiercely loyal heroines then this engrossing romance is for you.

Ruin of Aarti V. Raman is a great book for lovers of romantic thrillers. This book is very well written and the author tried to present a completely different concept. This book is a romantic thriller that goes back and forth between 7 years ago and now. The story becomes a dynamic thriller when understood. The story is truly intriguing, and the author adds twists and turns to grab the reader's attention.
The story revolves around two main characters, Shane McRae and Lena Hendrickson, shane were the heirs of billionaires and were acting as a secret undercover at the time. Lena and Shane are like chalk and cheese, but their attraction to each other burns. She's not a real princess to you, but he's a unique security guard. And as the writer portrayed her in her story, her killer made me guess.
He had a terrible past. The second thing that really drove him crazy was the thought of Princess Lena. Meanwhile, there is Lena, who is very different from the others who don't want to wear the princess crown. She is also being pursued by an assassin and is in a dangerous surprise. Shane was responsible for her safety, but was accidentally distracted from his work.

A very well written and executed. The story is dark, hot, romantic, desirable and full of adventures.
The story revolves around two characters mainly Shane McRae and Leena Hendrickson.
Shane is an undercover black ops and a billionaire for hire, also he is responsible for security of princess.
Leena a crowned princess who never wanted to be crowned is a beautiful women with a party girl tag, which she is trying very hard to remove off. She ran from her castle to improve and help the world. She wants to be anyone but herself.
Shane's past is full of mystery which hunts him everywhere. The bloodshed in the past is not leaving him alone. And the second thing which distract him more is princess Leena. Because of these lustful desires he is sometimes irresponsible and out of his duty. The assassin is eagerly waiting for a sinful crime to conduct but Shane is divided between his duty and desire.
Will he be able to guard princes from all the evil eyes and the assassin??? That's the main question and to find the answer reading the story is best idea.
Leena is surprised to see Shane, who is totally a different person now than he was back then when Leena was madly in love him. Now he is cold, remote and forbidden.
To save Leena from all the problems and to fulfill his duty both the enemies are living together 24/7.
The story is little lengthy and descriptive but the adventure is mind blowing. The new elements, the new perspective after every chapter will hook you to it till the end.
Readers who enjoy romantic thrillers can definitely give it a try.

The book " Ruin " is written by Aarti V Raman . The book is very well written and the author has tried to come up with a very different concept . The story is amazingly presented by the author and the plot is also very well set . The genre of the story is Romantic thriller and the story revolves around the two protagonists Shane McRae and Lena Hendrickson . Shane is billionaire by heir and for the time he also worked as a undercover black ops . He had a terrible past which used to haunt him . The second thing which was really driveing him crazy were the thoughts of Princess Lena . He was also very distracted from his work because of the tempting desires of her . On the other hand of the story there is Lena who is very different and never actually wanted to be a crowned princess . There is also a dangerous surprise waiting for her as she is getting chased be an assassin . Shane was the one who was handling the responsibility of her security but unintentionally he was getting distracted from his work . The story is really gripping and the author has filled it with twists and turns to make it intriguing for the readers . Talking about the title of the book it is very appropriate and catchy. The cover of the book is very attractive and the author really deserves appreciation for designing such a vibrant and creative cover . The book is recommended to everyone .

The love-hate love story has always been my favorite, so it is truly no wonder that why I picked up this story. This story is immensely sexy, and the dark characters enhance the whole experience of reading. Shane is a super hot billionaire, and he also works in undercover black cops. Often he finds himself in the dark turmoil of his past that is creating a lot of problems in his present life. Apart from this his constant desire for Princess Lena has created a problem, distracting him from work as he is always fighting between his heart and mind. On the other hand, Princess Lena is enjoying her life; she never wanted to be crowned princess. While she is a bit drowned in her life completely unaware that she is being tracked by an assassin. Shane is responsible for Lena's security while getting constantly involved with Princess Lena. A very steamy romance is its way to take place. If you like romance thrillers, you should definitely get this book. I am a sucker of this kind of plotline and read many such on Wattpad as well. Well, with hot and cold characters this book is presently my favorite. The writing style of the author is creative and simple. The title of this book is quite catchy; the title in itself is enough to hint at what the story is all about. Are you up for a spicy romance? Pick up this book now.

If you’re looking for a Romantic-thriller this book is your perfect option. My first thought before starting this book was that it must be a rip off of similar books in this genre. I was so wrong! This book had full content, great story telling and fabulous writing that went perfectly alongside the sexual nature and the romance of the book. The character development in this book is surprisingly thorough , the history of the characters provides depth to their like-ability.. I was truly surprised by this well written enjoyable , seriously addictive story and as you can tell I am now definitely a fan. I would love to read more from the series. I love the authors writing style , it’s easy to get into the story.

So This is my second read from Aarati v. Raman and i am personally in love with her writting...
The protagonist of the story Is Shane McRae and Lena Hendrickson,Shane is billionaire by heir and for the time he also worked as a undercover black ops while lena is a crown Princess . Two things that was distracting Shane from his work are his bad past and his tempting desire for princess lena ..
There is something dangerous waiting for Lena as she is getting chased be an assassin . Shane was the one who was handling the responsibility of her security but unfortunately he was getting distracted from his work . What will happen next ? Can Shane save Lena from the dangerous event ???
This story is extremely interesting and will make the reader stick to it unless the end. The writing style of the author made the book much more attractive.

Lena and Shane, two lovers seperated since years yet share mutual attraction. There is intense love and Lena isn't someone to mess up with, trying to make a difference and Shane sworn to protect her from deadly assassin.
In the beginning, tge plot mightbe a bit confusing to to tuneline jumps and past reveals, tge further you read, you will get a clearer picture.
The billionaire protagonist, the passionate love and the willingness to do anything and everything for love, this is high interest genre.. But I felt that the plot was a bit rushed especially the ending and the time shifts were confusing in the beginning which might even pull off reader's interest.

Black ops, undercover, secrecy, thrill, fights. These words can shift up one's interest to different stages and makes one try out different things in life. The book brings up another level of chaos and hype around it right from its differently allotted title and the cover page which is more than just apt and catchy. I found the read intriguing right with its blurb and the response in terms of how the book came under the list of different and unheard. The length is quite regular but could have been winded up earlier than it does for the tale appears to be shorter than narrated. I liked the concept as well the way the narration has been made. Characterization is again well made with pace maintained accordingly.

Although the book is full of heat and sexual tensions, but the author has truly done a commendable job in mixing good package of right plot twists with alluring narrative style. The storyline is captivating and worth for a good one time read. All the drama and secrets which take place in the book,is really exciting and enjoyable.
Although I am not into dark romances,I enjoyed it,it kinda made my mind a bit stress free,and made me realise that fantasizing is important too. The book is totally appealing and serves good for its dark romance genre, but beside that it shows the importance of love and nurturing too.

Both Lena and Shane are as different as chalk and cheese, but their mutual attraction is sizzling. She is not your proper princess and he is a unique security agent. And the assassin, the way the author has portrayed her in the story kept me guessing.

You'll find a movie like scenario taking place in this book as the narration made is very much rich in class with Portrayal pf characters made with carved beauty like perfection. I found myself impressed with the way author has lined up things in the book with the role played by Shane to be like that of a well minded man who knows his way out from any kind of problem which lies ahead. Its the cover page which actually made me delve into grabbing this read and to my surprise, I've found the read way too engaging, interesting, valuable one with pace very well maintained. Its the concept mainly, which appeared to be new and intriguing enough.

Ruin is book 2 in the Bastard Billionaires series. The book needs to be read after the Royals series since there are characters and a lot of references to that book.
The story is an epic intense romance. The characters are fiery and that just translates to a face paced thriller romance with some very slow burn intense romantic scenes. The author does a fantastic job of throwing a spinner twist to the plot adequately.
This turned out to be the perfect read for a very rainy day. Best way to wade through the downpour and power cut!

Aarti’s work is remarkable. I read this book for Shane, he was just the prefect addition to this series. The fictitious world of Stellangard is a result of the author’s literary genius. In this book you will find yourself swooning over Shane’s bravery, in love with a European castle, trying to decipher a reformed Party Princess and be taken on an emotional rollercoaster. A book you can’t put down :)

This is a story of love and hate. The story is a steamy romance which is one of favorite genres.
The story revolves around Shane a super hot billionaire who works as an undercover officer who is in charge of Princess lena's security which eventually brings them together.

I have read most of your books and am currently reading one of your Geek series. But I found this book very confusing in the beginning, with too many pasts and presents and 10 year back, 7 year back flashbacks.
After about half-way mark the story was steady and then on, I loved it.

This book has action and love both.it has a mixture of both the things.It is a second part of bastard billionaires.Its a love story between the Shane Lena.Their Attraction and Unconditional love for each other is what that kept them going after so many years of separation.How broken heart themselves have shown!!.This book is super confusing in the starting, with all the past, present, past of 7 years back, past of 10 years back.After about half the book was done, did it get interesting and that is too much to ask of a reader, confusing 200 pages that will bring down the interest of reading.Ending was good but writer end up the story quickly.
Recommend for the love readers.
