Hartford Brothers #3

Seducing the Doctor

Rate this book
He wasn't supposed to be forever.

One night of passion with Miles Hartford was all it took to turn my world upside down and change it forever.
He was supposed to be nothing more than a good time and a great memory.

Except now, those two pink lines say otherwise.

She wasn't who I thought she was.
That night she lied to me. She pretended to be someone else.
The thing is, I can't get her out of my head. I know it's wrong. I know I shouldn't.
I'm too old for her, but now that I know the truth, all I can think about is rewriting that night.

Until she turns my life upside down.

Ok, I see I am in the minority but I cannot even rate this! I am just flabbergasted the whole premise at the beginning of the mistaken identity never mind if it had truly been the other sister had already turned me off and it never really got any better, ughhh!!! I just can’t even why I kept on I really don’t know because there really wasn’t any coming back from the start of the “relationship” between the main h and H!!!
I couldn’t even rate it as I ended up halfway skipping around to the end and even the epilogue didn’t make me regret skimming and skipping to the end:(

Fitting finale

A fitting finale to the Hartford brothers series. A true HEA story which warms the heart and shows you don't have to jump into a relationship/marriage straight up.

I love this book. Amazing, I couldn’t put it down. I love all The Hartford Brother books and can’t decide which is my favorite.

Miles and Portia families have known each other all their lives. Portia was the youngest of the Garcia family. Miles is the middle son of the Hartford boys. Portia still in college and has a boyfriend Axton, but they break up. She goes home on summer break to intern under Carrie Hartford who is also her godmother and Miles’s mother. After a week the office girls invite her out with them. She accepts, but her friends can’t go, when she gets to the club she realizes she forgot her ID so she calls her sister, Nell, she give her her ID to get into the club. Nell tells her Miles is inside and needs someone to look after him. When Portia goes in she runs into Axton her ex-boyfriend, who accuses her of stalking him. She tells him she’s with Miles, then walks to him and kisses him. The next day Remi comes over to meet Miles for brunch, he’s headed to France for the summer, he finds Miles still in bed and his place a mess. Miles takes a quick shower and comes out to find Remi searching his fridge, when he see Miles he drops a plate, as he cleans it up he find Nells ID, Portia dropped. Miles tries to explain that it was an accident but Remi is furious and tells him he’s never speaking to him again, then leaves. Portia goes home and her roommate/best friends Hannah and Cora find out what happened. Nell sends a text to Portia, she needs her ID back, so Portia calls her to tell her she lost it, but doesn’t tell her where. Miles goes to The Antipodean, to talk to his friends, Smith Johnson, Dylan King and Lane Campbell, Miles tells them what he did to Remi. The guys give him a hard time, it was his brother, Miles wants to see Nell again, but knows he can’t. A month later, Portia and Miles stalk each other’s social media accounts, liking each other’s pictures. Miles sends her a DM and she replies, nothing flirty. Then Portia gets a call from Miles, when she answers it it’s heavy breathing and groaning on the other end. She realizes what he’s doing and listens until he’s done then hangs up when he realizes he called her. Cora invites Portia out to her work thing, Miles is also there and thinks she’s Nell again. Miles came with his friend Lane, who’s there for a client. A little while later Miles notices Portia become ill, he tends to her and sends her home with Cora. The next day Portia is running to throw up, thinking she has food poisoning. Hannah and Cora question her if she could be pregnant. Miles comes and check on Portia, he tells her his mom asks him to. So Portia gets a pregnancy test, takes it, it’s positive. She calls Nell to tell her, Nell tells her she needs to tell Miles, Nell figures out that’s why Remi isn’t talking to her. The girls come home and she give them the news they tell her she needs to tell Miles tonight. Miles comes over and Portia nervously tell him it was her he slept with, and that she is pregnant. Carrie is shocked to see Portia walk in with Miles, as they sit in front of her desk. Miles asks his mom to call his dad to come too. His parents assume they are dating but he tells them they aren’t. Portia hands them the ultrasound and Carrie screams. Leon, Miles’s dad tells him Portia father is going to kill him. But when Carrie shows Leon the photo he welcome Portia into the family. The third book in the Hartford Brothers series was a storyline that has you captivated. Miles will steal your heart and Portia gives you a female character that displays both strength and vulnerability that you didn't expect when we were introduced to her in previous books. Their story gives you a little of everything from witty banter to emotional moments. Their story is realistic and one that draws you in. This steamy fast paced story will seduce your heart and have you falling head over heels in love. Miles and Portia have a surprise or two in store for you but I won't spoil it for you. This age gap romance is a wonderful addition to this outstanding series.

So, I finished this book a while ago...and I totally forgot to do a review on it. And now I can't remember much about it to do a proper review. Hm. Yeah. Sorry. I know I enjoyed it and thought it was a good ending to the series. lol I don't believe I totally forgot to do a review on this one. What I can say is that it's an age gap/accidental pregnancy/best friend's sibling/mistaken identity deal. Yeah. You read that right. There's a lot going on, and there might be some things that are unbelievable. Honestly, I'm tired of the "I'm on the pill but got pregnant" thing. However, this one I'm good with because it was actually explained well in a plausible way that would make a birth control pill ineffective. Also, this is not spoilers because it already refers to pregnancy in the blurb, so ha.

I swear, one person b!*@hed to me once about something years ago, and I've been on edge ever since. :-D

Anyhow, Miles might be a player, but I didn't think he was that bad. The bouncing from sister to sister thing was a little weird, but I just went with it. Portia was cute and matured very quickly as the story progressed. Overall, very entertaining. See? I pulled this one out of my a$$ here. *A core memory was activated.*

Seducing the Doctor was addictive reading!!!

Welcome to the final book in the Hartford Brothers stand-a-lone series. I have loved each book as it came out, but it seems that Author JA Low has really saved the best for last. Doctor Miles Hartford and Portia Garcia’s book was simply awesome. These two everything @r$e-about-face and in this age-gap surprise-baby-romance, Author JA Low’s writing gave me all the feels from laughter to tears. She melted my romantic heart with warm fuzzies, and held me captive for the entire length of the book, from virtual e-book cover to cover – again in one sitting I might add. What an incredible romance Ms Low has put together.

Miles and Portia were both easily lovable characters. Their one night stand was an opportunistic one, and meant to be only that, but complications arose, and the surprise pregnancy most certainly wasn’t the only one! What I completely admired about Portia, even being only 21, was her sense of responsibility and owning her actions. She might’ve seemed a bit bratty in her sister’s book, and maybe even a little bit here but she freely admitted to feeling somewhat insecure about Mile’s motivations and declarations. Were they for her, or just their baby???

As for Mile’s, I loved him to pieces, but I didn’t always like his lifestyle choices. He was genuinely all about doing the right thing, and that soon changed to the right reasons as well, and bless his alpha-heart, he had more trouble than he thought he would to try and get one-young lady under control, under his roof, and under him again.

I have to admit that I love the surprise drop-ins from past characters who share geographic locations with characters of this Harford series, and even if you are new to these gorgeous Hartford brothers, it doesn’t matter if you haven’t read the others yet. Their books are all occur concurrently to some degree.

The family fights and dynamics play a heavy part as you can expect it would when strong personalities are involved, which we know that the members of the Hartford and Garcia families have, and they are written in Ms Low’s witty eloquent style. Again, this is a stand-a-lone book, but I’ll say here that checking out Stirling and Remington’s books as well is highly recommended. 5-Stars ༺💙༻

I have been looking forward to reading this book and can honestly say it was so worth the short wait. I loved this story about Portia and Miles and fell instantly in love with them as a couple.

Getting to know Miles better was great and he was a surprise too as I didn’t realise he was as much like Remi as he ended up being. 😄 WAS is the key word in that sentence though. Portia was not the flighty young rich girl you often wrongly think about with her type of character and as the story unfolded I liked her more and more. Her strength and determination were extremely admirable qualities. Together they complimented each other whether they were friends or lovers.

One of the main reasons for the extra half a star was the ‘realness’ of the story. It wasn’t unbelievable in any way and I thoroughly enjoyed this aspect. I also loved the fast pace of the story yet slower pace in other things that I won’t spoil for other readers. I am a stickler for balance and this book has great balance all the way through in every aspect.

This is a fantastic series end and I totally recommend this to everyone.

Miles and Portia hook up but under false pretenses on one side. Miles thinks he is hooking up with Nell when he was drunk, even his brother who loves Nell thinks so too. When Portia leaves her sisters ID at his house after an amazing hook up. A month or so goes by and life is fine no one is the wiser yet Nell and Remi aren't together and mad at one another for Portias mistake. Miles likes a photo on Portia's Instagram. They start taking a little, run into each other at a party and she seems sick. Doctor Miles has to check in on her, 10 weeks after their hook up low and behold she pregnant and now has to come out with the truth! What happens when the truth comes out? What happens when you have traditional parents?

I fell in love with Miles so hard! This was the perfect ending to the Hartford boys series! I adored the dynamic with Portia and Miles even with the age gap. They were so fun! I loved seeing Remi and Nell get back together and their love coming back! I loved seeing everyone in the epilogue! I enjoyed how protective Miles became over Portia and how caring he was after being Mr. Playboy!

Miles is a 32 year old doctor who doesn’t have time for relationships. Portia is a 21 year old college student who’s trying to get over her cheating ex. One night while out, her sister ditches them. Miles is so gone at this point he mistakes the younger Garcia for her older sister and takes her home. Too bad this has multiple repercussions. 1. His brother is in love with the other sister 2. He remembers the night, but doesn’t remember that it was Portia. Portia dropping her sister's ID on his kitchen floor didn’t help Miles piece it together either. With their families being so close, Portia and Miles run into each other at various events and casually flirt. Portia thinks he might want a second go at it while Miles wont allow himself to go near the youngest Garcia. About 10 weeks later when she’s feeling sick, his mother and her boss make Miles do a house call. Surprise, it’s a baby.

This book had a lot of layers while utilizing the surprise pregnancy trope. It started with deceit and a lot of tension.

Doctor Miles, and the fake ID

Without giving to much away, After a humiliating break up on the tarmac before our flight, friends who were traveling with me saw and heard what happened, they took over and organised a week in Mexico where they we were original going but at my friends mums beach house instead, more luxurious as well, had a fantastic break and a bonus was it annoyed my ex who claimed he made a mistake, tuff. A new problem started back home in NY when a night out was arranged with my sister Remi, she was leaving the night club when I arrived I was supposed to join her and Doctor Miles who had far to much to drink, I fortunately on arriving at the club saw my ex, he was there flaunting the whore his new girlfriend he dumped me for, what happened next started a chain of events which started with me greeting Miles with a passionate kiss, Miles thought it was my sister coming back to the table as we look alike, it then gets complicated. Loved the book

Age gap surprise romance

I have loved the whole Hartford brothers series and I as much as I thought I wasn’t going to like Portia after the second book, I actually really like her now I know more about her.

In her sisters story, she was quite bratty and annoying, so I read this book with a little trepidation. I already knew I was going to like Miles… I mean fit, gorgeous, flirty, wealthy, well packaged, successful doctor, what’s not to like right? But seriously, both these lead characters come into their own as the story unfolds.

Sometimes with age comes not only experience but understanding and I think this story shows that age gap romances between people at the right time can be the change that’s needed to make you realise what you want in life.

I’m going to really miss these Hartford boys, and their lovely ladies… but I’m sure they’ll crop up somewhere in Low’s future series.

Ugh! This book was so boring, filled with every cliche imaginable and so disjointed I felt like every chapter was about a different book.

Also, nothing was mentioned in the blurb about it being a surprise pregnancy. YUCK! I avoid that trope like the plague so when the condom broke I knew what was coming and almost DNFd the book based on that. Needless to say I should have because everything from that moment on was how horny she was due to pregnancy or how her being an idiot was due to pregnancy brain.

I also had a problem with the FM lead basically raping the ML in the beginning of the book because he thought she was someone else and even called her by her sisters name while they were in the act. Later when she confesses it was her and he's pissed, her excuse was that if he knew it was her and not her sister he wouldn't have had sex with her so she knew what she was doing was wrong on so many levels.

Do yourself a favor and pass on this hot mess of a book.

The second pregnancy trope book this month, who am I? :) I think it was done quite well and I enjoyed reading it. But the fact that a grown ass man was so drunk he couldn't tell two sisters apart (the whole situation is rather humiliating) was quite unattractive... despite that crazy level of intoxication he was still able to perform during a night of incredible, earth-shattering sex... I rather doubt that😅

Also the book has a huge age gap, just like book 1. I don't really care for age gap but I guess it helps to increase the drama and it worked out well here.

I read the whole series and found all books entertaining. The timelines overlap and we experience conversations multiple times from different perspectives. If a word-by-word repetition bothers you (especially while binging the series), be warned.

Overall an easy, quick read that entertained me on a rainy and stormy Saturday :)

Could not stop reading this series!

This was a great conclusion to The Hartford Brothers series! This story really started off with a bang and the Spiciness right out of the gate was steaming hot! Loved the unconventional way the relationship between Portia and Miles came together and how their love grew even when faced with stressful circumstances. This book was a great balance of sweet, drama, and SPICE, however the Epilogue felt a little out of place in comparison to the rest of the book(s). It did give some additional insight to how the lives of all of the characters from the series ended up in the future, but I feel like each of the books gave a satisfactory conclusion to each of the character's stories without it. That however would not stop me from HIGHLY recommending this book/series to a friend to read. 8/5 for SPICINESS and a 10/10 Read Recommendation!

Hello Dr.

Seducing the Doctor by JA Low is the 3rd and final book in the Hartford Brothers series.

Tropes:
✔️ Accidental Pregnancy
✔️ Friends w/ Benefits to Lovers
✔️ Age Gap

POV: Duel 👩🧑
🌶 starts at about 15%

While Mile's did not replace Stirling as my favorite Hartford brother, I still loved him and Portia. A super cute story about learning how to become a family when you have known each other your entire lives. Portia and Miles have to grow individual before they can grow together. Very good ending to this series.

✨Kicking open my door, I throw her on the bed and launch myself at her.✨

He wasn't supposed to be forever.
She wasn't who I thought she was.
She pretended to be someone else, then she turns my life upside down.

Doctor Hartford will see you now

Book 3 in the Hartford Brothers series. Age Gap and surprise pregnancy romance. Another good read. A good storyline and great characters. Portia Garcia is a young college girl, often mistaken for her older sister Nell. I wasn’t keen on Portia in previous books as she was young and a bit of a pain but she excelled in this book. There were a lot of funny and unexpected moments. Miles Hartford is the Doctor in the family or Saint Miles as Remi his younger brother likes to call him. But Miles is no saint in this book. He’s a womaniser as much as Remi. Not one for relationships he’s a one and done kind of guy. A drunk encounter leads to a rollercoaster of a storyline. I will definitely read more by this author.

This is the third book in the Hartford Brothers series and is about Portia and Miles. Miles is a doctor and Portia is a college student who’s trying to get over her cheating ex. Miles and Portia hook up but under false pretenses on one side. He is supposed to be well passed drunk and he thinks she is her sister. A month or so goes by and life is fine no one is the wiser yet Nell and Remi aren't together and mad at one another for Portias mistake. When Miles likes a photo on Portia's Instagram, they start taking a little and they run into each other at a party and she seems sick. She finds out she is pregnant and now has to come out with the truth that it wasnt her sister he was with but her. I really liked this book and loved the storyline.

Seducing The Doctor is the third book in the Hartford Brothers series, and features Portia Garcia and Miles Hartford, who both appeared as side characters in the previous title Playing the Player.
This title is an age gap romance with a young, yet confident, and determined heroine and an Emergency Room doctor and ladies’ man who has more in common with his younger brother than initially meets the eye.
Their banter is witty, fun, and flirtatious but also serious, emotional, and heartfelt at times.
Their chemistry is undeniable, and their interactions are quite hot and steamy.
Another enjoyable read by JA Low and I look forward to her next release.

I am a real big fan of this series about these three brothers and at the end of the second book, i couldn’t wait to read this book and what was going to happen.

I really liked this book and loved the storyline.

This book was fast paced and hot and steamy, it had a little bit of everything it made me laugh and had some emotional parts, but the story was great with the surprise pregnancy and the surprise dad and everything.

If you like a series with brothers and their different stories and they are hot and great writing and storyline then this series and book is for you

Truly enjoyed the full Hardford series.

I truly enjoyed reading about how Portia and Miles love story evolved. Little did they know they were so much alike despite their age difference. They helped each other grow into what amounted to a strong loving bonding relationship beyond the confines of a legal marriage. These two were destined to be. Leaving Miles story as the ending to this series was nothing short of perfect. Great fantasy love story. Look forward to reading more from this author.

Brilliant

Aww I loved this book from start to finish. Miles was such a lovely bloke and just needed to realise he hadn't met the right woman. That all changed after his one night stand. After getting young Portia pregnant he saw things completely different and ended up becoming this huge softy. Portia on the other hand tried so hard to not fall for the hunky dr knowing he was older and probably didn't want her. This book takes you on a emotional rollercoaster but has a beautiful HEA. This is definitely a must read.

I loved the story of Portia and Miles. While their is an age gap, you don’t feel it to much. Portia is a mature woman and right from the start knows what she wants in life. Miles maybe a playboy but he realizes pretty quick that he must change his ways if he wants more out of his career.

There are a few grammatical errors in the book but the story is so good that it didn’t take away from the story much. You can read it as a stand-alone or in series. I liked that I knew the other characters that play a part in the story.

I was really looking forward to Miles and Portia after getting a glimpse at their story in Playing the Player! I love how these two came together and the relationship they built. You get a lot more insight to Portia, after seeing her as a bit spoiled or stuck up in the other books in this series. Miles stepped up big time and he was really so sweet with Portia after being a major player. Plus their chemistry and spice was so good! Love this age gap romance! Thank you JA Low for the ARC!

loved it!

This book was great. I love the style of writing, the detail and emotion just pulls you into the story. The twists were great, I honestly didn’t put the book down u til the very last word.
Love the characters, the steamy scenes were hot AF!
The age gap was great and I enjoyed their relationship journey.
Love the linking in of characters from other books, and such a perfect ending.
Overall a great book

DNF. It's an okay story, but I stopped at 50%. The writing style isn't very good; it doesn't flow smoothly. There needs to be more contractions like she's, he's, they're, isn't, we're, etc... it just made the book hard to read. There were also spelling errors that were distracting. I've read a couple of this author's other books before, but I don't think I can read anymore. Sorry, but I'm a grammar nerd.

The Ending of Something Great

This is the last book of the Hartford Brothers series, and I am sad. I really enjoyed each and every character in this series. It was well written and well thought out. You will find yourself hating and loving the characters. I'm glad I took the risk of checking out a new author. JA Low, you never disappointed me. I hope there are more books in the future with this circle of characters. I enjoyed them so much. Thank you.
