After a splendid performance in Big Daddy Casino, the floating casino in Goa, the singing sensation Roger along with his entourage were gunned down. ACP Rathore is investigating the homicide.
As the events begin to unleash Rathore digs upon secrets too dark and dangerous. As he proceeds, the question becomes more and more haunting - Who Killed Roger? Michael Rodriques, the Deputy Chief Minister of Goa? Shirley Fernandes, Roger's wife? One or more of the other artists? Or, an individual for whom Roger refused to perform?
The Search is the most astonishingly impudent, ingenious and altogether a fast-paced murder mystery ever written by an Indian author.
Note: This is an expanded version of the short story Who Killed Roger.
Vishal Anand is the author of two bestselling novels, One & A Half Love Story and 37 + Grace Marks and two short story collections titled Urban Lights and Emotions Unplugged. His books have not just carved a niche in the reader’s heart but has also remained popular since its release.
The Hindu says, he deals human emotions with deep sensitivity and sensibility. Hindustan Times called him ‘a perfect example of a small town boy with big time success’ and The Telegraph mentioned him as an ‘Author who is creating ripples in the literary circuit’.
Vishal works in the marketing team of a digital transformation, infrastructure, security, and product engineering services company, based out of Bangalore.
Roger Fernandes, a known face among the Goans, a rising star singer. After a stage breaking performance in the floating casino in Goa, the singing sensation and his entourage were gunned down by anonymous shooters. One event leading to another is pointing fingers to many suspects who have reasonable motives to kill Roger. ACP Rathore is investigating the crime with his team and every time the clues lead them to frenzy and a dead end but the question still remains who killed Roger and why?
I'll try my best to share my opinion without giving too much spoilers. The Search is apparently a short murder mystery revolving around a singer Roger and his band. The book started very interestingly with flashbacks of Roger's life and how from scratch he ended up being a successful singer. There are mainly two plots running in parallel, one is of Roger's past and the current situation after the shootout. These two plots together made this book an excellent page turner for sure and kept me hooked from the beginning. However the pace is way too fast, not leaving behind enough time for the plots to develop. The starting was good and so is most of the book but the ending was abrupt.
Coming to the characters, the characters are very well sketched, I like the idea of shifting the attention from Roger to other characters also, like to his friend's but to my disappointment we don't get to see some suspects in limelight, I didn't find much conviction in them. 'Keep guessing' is one of the important elements of thrillers but I missed it in this book, the book gave away too much. For some reason I guessed the murderer way before the time of revelation.
Overall this was a nice one-sitting read. It's simple, lucid and engaging. I would recommend this book to beginners.
The search for Vishal Anand is a murder mystery. The story revolves around a murder that takes place in Goa's famous floating casino called Big Daddy Casino. Goa's song sensation, Roger, was both shot after performing at a casino with Zoe. The only witnesses to the incident are Shell and Gauresh, who heard gunfire when Roger was attacked. The hawk-eyed investigator ACP Rathore handles cases with minimal evidence. A vigilant and vigilant officer is vigilant in carrying out his duties. Readers wonder how he solved the mystery. characters well laid out. The title and cover were chosen according to the content. The language is simple and easy to read. I like the writing style. What did you like? well planned plot Timezone switching for alternate chapters is done neatly. The wait continues until an unpredictable climax is revealed. The culture and places of Goa are well explored. Overall, reading is interesting and stressful...
When Friendship and love clashes from their destructive thoughts and destruction start and ruin everything. - Prince Raj . . It is a fast-paced story and it could be finished in just one sitting and I did that and kind of liked it but not totally but it's worth reading.
For beginners, this story will be amazing and surely they will enjoy it.
Recommended to Beginners and mystery lovers.
GLIMPSES IN A BLINK
Rocking music are everywhere and everyone is dancing and Exult in music and on the Stage, the duo of singer's are entertaining the whole crowd and after the Performance when Rock star Ruzar Fernandes and his entourage was in parking they were gunned down.
One of the lead singers of the band is the daughter of the deputy chief minister of Goa and now the police are pressurized by the government to search for the culprits who tried to murder.
The Police officer who was chasing also got shot by the same shooter who shot Rockstar Rozer and Zoey and that police officer are in hospital fighting for his life.
Now what will happen will the police will be able to find the culprits or not.
The story revolves around a homicide that took place in the Big Daddy Casino. After giving a rocking performance there, the sensation of Goa, Roger Fernandez along with his entourage left for their way back home and were shot down.
Two constables Babu Shelkar and Gauresh heard the gunshots and reached there to witness a bloodbath created by two bikers. Babu chased them while Gauresh called the hospital. And they were the only eyewitness.
This case was then assigned to ACP Vikrant Rathore who was disliked by some of his colleagues because of his different ways of solving the cases.
Did he find out who attacked Roger and his entourage? Was it Shirley, Roger's wife? Was it Deputy Cheif Minister, Micheal Rodquires, Zoey's father? Was it any other competitor of Roger's ? Did they get any justice ?
I liked how this book runs in two parallel time period. This book is a mixture of human emotions, politics, betrayal and love. It can be a nice read for those who enjoy mystery thrillers.
Murder mysteries are something I always look forward to. Though off lately I am reading less suspenseful reads to broaden my horizon but couldn't stop myself from picking this up when I found one of the character name as ACP Rathore in the blurb. The name brought memories of an iconic bollywood flick made in the late 90s by the name 'Sarfarosh'
The novel revolves around a gruesome murder of singing sensation Roger and the aftermath of crime. The details of the incident are less as the police officer who witnessed the crime is also shot dead then and there. It becomes difficult for the investigator to combine the pieces of zigsaw puzzle to reach a logical conclusion.
The tale is weaved with a lot of caution and suspense intact. The sheer observant attitude of the chief incharge Rathore is outstandingly captured. Having read the previous book by the same author , loved the talent and skillset he possesses as both the books are of entirely different genres. The story moves at a rapid pace and there are hardly any dull moments. The back and forth timelines doesn't cause any confusion and a lot has been described from the spectacle of author about Goa life.
This is my second book by the author which I read.I loved the experience of reading this book. The first was a love story and this this was a thriller.I would say the author has done a beautiful job in writing this!
The thing which I feel is when it comes to thrillers we have to properly frame the summary. Not everything can be mentioned otherwise it would be a spoiler! So,I don't want to dig much on summary.
For this book,I would directly come to my experience-
This was something which blew me!I wasn't expecting the climax like this or the culprit.I would say the author has done a beautiful job in writing such story which is truly unpredictable.
The language in which the book is written is simple. Not at all confusing. The character development is good.
This is the book which though being short has explained everything. Not any detail has been left. The book is of 170 pages but I think it is okay.I love the books where there are no unnecessary stretch or over explained things.
The book will be a great read for the beginner readers of thrillers. Also,I would appreciate the author for writing this beauty.

The search by Vishal Anand is a murder mystery. The story revolves around a murder that takes place in the famous floating casino of Goa called Big Daddy Casino. Roger a singing sensation of Goa performs along with Zoey, in the Casino, after which both are gunned down. The only witnesses to the incident are Shelke and Gauresh who heard gunshots while Roger was attacked. ACP Rathore an hawk eyed investigating officer takes up the case, with minimum clues in his hand. Being watchful and having an extremely keen sight, the officer is vigilant in his duty. The readers are kept guessing as he unfolds the mystery.
The characters are well placed. The title and the cover have been chosen appropriately to suit the contents. The language is simple and is easy to read. The writing style is good.
What I liked? Well planned plot The switching between time frames in the alternate chapters has been done accurately. The suspense is maintained till the unpredictable climax is revealed. The culture and places of Goa has been explored well.
"The Search" the title of the book tempted me to read. The engaging story is furthermore impressed me. This book is all about the secret murder of the protagonist Roger. How the ACP Rathore is solving this case is a moving story.
The story begins with the murder of the protagonist Roger, who is the main concept to run this story as a thriller. The characters are well developed by the author. This is a murder mystery, so I don't want to break the thrilling of the story by summarising it. Read the book till the end to engross with the mystery.
The plot makes the reader read the book in a take. The fast pacing enthralling story frame grasps the attention of the readers throughout the novel. Even the main characters are submissive the ACP Rathore runs along with the time stamp to give an engaging plot.
Title of book- The Search: A Perfect Murder Mystery Written by- Vishal Anand Rating- 5/5
This book covers story of murder mystery. The story revolves around a murder that takes place in the famous floating casino of Goa called Big Daddy Casino. Roger a singing sensation of Goa performs with Zoey. The witnesses to the incident are Shelke and Gauresh who heard gunshots when Roger was attacked. ACP Rathore an investigating officer takes the case for investigation who have less clue to investigate.
Overall I love to read this book. The book language is easy to understand. Book cover is attractive and relatable.
I personally recommend you to read this book. You will feel enjoyable and engaged in whole plot.
What could drive someone to murder? What could make someone kill a person? A plethora of reasons, including but not limited to love, hate, jealousy, insecurity, fear, and betrayal.
The Search by Vishal Anand is a story of a murder, and how it is "almost" solved. Roger, Zoey, Sam and Dev are a part of a band- VOLT. Roger is an amazing singer and with the support of his best friend Sam, he has been very successful in the Goa circuit. But one night after a successful concert at Big Daddy Casino, two bike riders open fire at Roger's car- killing Dev and seriously wounding Zoey and Roger. Sam is saved by a stroke of luck. It is upto ACP Rathore to solve this case, and he solves it quickly because of the political pressure.
My views- I loved the book! We cannot see the whole play until the last three chapters, it keeps the mystery going until the very end. I loved all characters, and I loved that most were morally gray characters- not just some goody-two-shoes. The pace of the book is fast and keeps you engaged throughout.
Roger Fernandes, a singing sensation was performing at the Big Daddy Casino, the floating casino in Goa. Little did he know this was going to be his last performance, Roger along with his entourage is gunned down after their splendid performance at the Big Daddy Casino.
And "The Search" for the murderer begins! ACP Rathore is investigating the case and there are many suspects - the big question is who killed Roger and Why?
The search is a fast paced, thriller/ murder mystery novel that will keep you engaged from the first page to the last one. It is a page turner with its fast paced and enjoyable story. The book is written in a beginner friendly language and the writing style is perspicuous. This is a plot driven novel but all the characters are well written too. However, this is one of those books which don't stay with you for too long but are a good one time read because of their fast pace and the story.
I Have Consistently Been Reading Almost All The Books Penned By Author Vishal Anand And Can Say With Conviction That Never Has He Disappointed In The Past..Not To Imply That He Disappoints This Time As An Author...That Is Not The Truth Really Because Even This Time Vishal Anand Has Penned A Gripping And Engrossing Murder Mystery That Keeps The Readers Spellbound Right From The Start To Finish. So What Is It About Who Killed Roger That Actually Disappoints? Guess More Than Anything Else The Fault Lies At The Editorial End Almost Making One Wonder If The Book Has Been Actually Edited As It Leaves A Lot To Be Desired. Either Vishal Anand Has Switched Publishers When He Already Had A Good Thing Going With An Impeccable Track Record And The Result Shows In The Poor Editing Done On A Perfect Tale That Could Definitely Have Been Another Perfect Murder Mystery Delight That Gripped The Readers Imagination The Way The Author Vishal Anand Had Originally Planned To Offer It To The Readers. The Only Other Possibly Clue That Comes To Mind Is That Corners Were Cut To Meet A Looming Release Deadline And This Editing Took A Backseat. Should That Be The Case, One Hopes That This Almost Captivating Read Can Be Spruced Up When The Paperback Edition Is Ready To Rollout. Enough Said About The Editing. Coming To The Book Itself From The Authors Perspective There Is Little That Can Be Faulted. It Makes Not Just A Gripping But Actually An Engrossing Read Too. When It Comes To A Crime Thriller Or A Suspense Murder Mystery, Pace Is As Much Of Importance As Are The Twists At Every Turn To Keep The Reader Guessing What Is To Come Next. Nothing Kills A Murder Mystery More Than Predictability. Who Killed Roger Is In Itself A Loaded Title And Full Credit Goes To Vishal Anand That Right From The Time Of The Bloodbath Massacre He Is Successful In Pointing The Finger Of Suspicion On Almost Every Character Who’s Path Crossed Roger Fernandez A Top Of The Charts Pop Performer Who Has His Audience Eating Out Of His Hands. The Level Of Roger’s Success Can Well Be Gauged By The Fact That He Has Risen Up The Charts So Swiftly And Smoothly That He Has Actually Left Behind An Army Of Sworn Enemies Any Of Whom Would Have A Strong Motive To See Roger Crumble If Not Be Killed In Cold Blood..The Very Fact That Roger Is Not Killed Alone But His Virtual Troupe Is Also Massacred In Cold Blood Points To A Bigger And Far More Sinister Plot..Is It Just Professional Rivalry Or Personal Hatred That Led To This Blood Bath While The Others Were Merely Collateral Damage Having Been At The Wrong Place At The Wrong Time In The Line Of Fire? The Tight Knit Tale And The Suspense With Which It Is Woven Keeps The Readers Guessing Who Killed Roger And What Was The Motive For This Cold Blooded Murder That Left So Many Casualties?
Self-thoughts: The story was fast paced and of-course, being a murder mystery, there were plot twists. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and could not keep it down as it was fast paced and hooked me till the end. The story has been edited just right, I did not feel that there was unnecessary information or anything too much or too less in the storyline. A very good read and a very easy one too!
SYNOPSIS: The storyline is a full-fledged mystery thriller genre, with shooters, victims, suspects, hero, villain, and the hidden mastermind! The story is set-in two-time frames - current and 9 years earlier flashback. The author has managed the task to arrange both the time frames in alternate chapters, which, if gone wrong, could mess the book too much. So shoutout to the author on that area!
The plot of the story is based in Panaji, Goa. It revolves around our singing sensation - Ruz Fernandes who’s stage name is - ROGER. Roger blew everyone away with his talent at his first performance itself at a bar, thanks to Simon - called Sam, his best friend and drummer. Sam was the one who motivated and pushed Ruz to perform in the real world as his talent was amazing.
The story begins at the Big Daddy Casino where Roger and Zoey had finished their performance and, on the way, to home when they were shot by 2 shooters on a bike. The Constables Babu Shelke and Gaude heard the gunshots while they were on their routine patrolling. When the matter gets serious, ACP Rathore - Courageous, sceptical, candid and observant is brought in for investigating the case. Now the question is " Who killed this BIG SENSATION who was loved by his fans?”. To know about that, go ahead, and grab your copy!
RATING - 4/5
RECOMMENDED to every mystery thriller lover, or anyone who wants to start with the genre.

Also, the end seemed rushed. 🔫This world is a place where When a person reach the height of success, he tends to develop more enemies than friends which may cost him his life sometimes. 🔫One such story is about a famous singing sensation of Goa Roger Rodriguez, who was murdered and shot down along his entourage just after giving a marvelous performance in the Big Daddy Casino by two mysterious bikers at the roadside in his own car. ACP Rathore was assigned to investigate the mystery behind this homicide. Who knew that years of hard work which led Roger to become successfull will lead him to his death and the fact having enemies in between those years really didn't helped the officers to investigate the murderers. With too many suspects, too many conspiracies and too many mistakes done by Roger himself how the officers found the murderer?
✨MY REVIEW✨
✨Written in different timelines of past and present even though it was complicated but still made the story interesting developing the urge to solve the mystery within a reader, how and who can be the culprit or who can conspire against Roger. I liked the book to some extent only that it was a little predictable for me.
✨Being a short read of just 170 pages, book didn't dissapointed and can keep the reader engaged till the end. The story was fast paced with simple language. Every character was very well descripted and can make the reader think whether he can be the one who murdered Rogers. I liked each scenarios made in the story and maybe those helped me predict who the muderer was.
✨The book is recommended to all thriller lovers who want a engaging and short read. Although it will be more recommended for all those who want to explore a new genre or to beginners who want to start their reading journey.
🍂The Search is a crispy, engaging murder mystery with a fast paced narration that keeps its readers intrigued till the end of the story and the aura of suspence and mystery being kept till the end 🌙
🍂The story revolves around the murder mystery of Roger Fernandes, a singing sensation who after a splendid performance in a Casino along with his entourages were gunned downed and the responsibility of finding out the culprit and conducting the investigation for the same fell on the shoulders of APC Rathore 🌙
🍂With every clues he receives he realises that the mystery behind the murder gets more entangled without providing any satisfying glimmer of light to the question Who killed Roger and his people? And what is their possible motive behind conducting this gruesome murder? But the more he digs the darker the alley of truth seems to be with lots of suspected people but still waiting of any concrete evidence to find the real story and the murderer behind 🌙
🍂This story was a short one of 170 pages fast pacing along with well developed characters, showcasing two timelines one of the past and one in the present scenario the transition between them is also nicely plotted, the starting was very intriguing that picks up readers interest, comparing to that I would say the end was kinda underwhelming mainly because I predicated it way before maybe side-effects of reading too much thrillers. I enjoyed the fast pacing narrative along with easy language which made it a beginner's friendly read. Overall this book was an enjoyable read recommended to everyone enjoys reading murder mystery specially those who are beginner in this genre 🌙
🐡 THE SEARCH: A PERFECT MURDER MYSTERY 🐡 By Vishal Anand
🔏I finally got around to reading this and overall I thought it was entertaining even if there were some Thrilling along the way.I had a lot of fun reading "The Search". Personally, I don't think it gets the love it deserves. This is my first Vishal's book I have read and for me he is very unique with his writing style.
🔏Sure, it has a standard format and slightly bit hard time predicting plot, because it has an intriguing, unreliable narrator, a creepy atmospheric setting and a delightful cast of unlikable characters. The plot begins in Goa, a city for Fun, Dance, Casino and Enjoyment. Roger, he is a new singing sensation in the town. Roger and his singing partner Zoey, they were performing in the "Big Daddy Casino". On the night of their performance, after being done with that on their way back home they both were shot dead by two bikers.
🔏This incident shook the town and it has become the headache for Police department. The case was handover to ACP Rathore, he is a true, honest police man with good skills and has a brave observant. I am going to stop spoiling. You have to grab your copy to know more about this.
And... I predicted the ending.
🔏I'm not saying that to brag....this is something I literally never do. I am the worst ending-predictor ever (and proud of it). I deliberately try not to guess because I love being surprised.
...and yet, I totally saw this coming.
🔏I enjoy this book to every inch possible, even though I am well aware there are some errors however pointing errors isn't every reader's cup of tea. How I choose to rate books is based mainly on my overall reading experience and I did have a fun time with this one.
Roger Fernandes is a singing sensation from Goa. One day out of the blue, he along with his crew was attacked. The question that remained was who hired the thugs for the task.
Set in two timelines, 9 years before the incident and the present scenario, the story takes you on a thrilling ride through the minds of the victim, the killer, and all the suspects.
The short chapters made the book a fairly short read, fast paced and filled with suspense. The question as to who killed Roger and his crew hangs over the reader until the last page. The narration was gripping. It took me barely two sittings to finish the book. The language was simple and easy enough for beginners. The book reminded me of Crime Patrol episodes where the police has to solve the cases quickly as to not loose the criminals in the jungles of the city. There were some elements of humour which i absolutely loved- like Trisha- ACP Rathore's wife and her obsession with Bollywood. The book was neither alot, nor less in terms of context. Every details, every setting was described just enough. The character sketch of all the main leads and side characters were well done. Since the story was set in two timelines, we get to know how Ruz and Sam set up their band- VOLT and how did all the events lead them to the spot they were attacked on. True to the genre of of murder mystery- the book makes the readers questions each person who was in contact with the victim and I was able to predict it way before the end. I wish the climax was more action packed. The revelation fizzled out as I was able to guess the murderer before the end. I would have loved if the ending was not so abrupt and the reason a little more strong.
Book - The Search : A Perfect Murder Mystery Author - Vishal Anand
The story of the book - "The Search : A Perfect Murder Mystery" revolves around a murder mystery of the singing sensation Roger Fernandes, along with his fellow crew members. Roger Fernandes, was a popular Goan Singer, songwriter, musician and composer. He was best stage performer in the town. When he left, after the performance in Big Daddy Casino at Panaji, he and along his entourage were shot down. Babu Shelke and Gauresh Gaonkar, were two people, who heard few gunshots and reach the place where Roger and his entourage were attacked. They tried to catch the culprit but failed. Then, the investigation starts, headed by ACP Rathore, who was really good in his job. But, with little clues and lot of challenges in his way, he had to go through a lot of difficulties to solve the murder mystery and find the culprit behind it. Who was behind Roger's murder? Will ACP Rathore be able to solve the mystery?
Overall, I really liked reading this story. This book is a combination of mystery, suspense and thrill. The plot is quite unique and I love the way author explained in details everything, which makes it easy to understand the story in depth. Even though, this story has lot of characters but all the characters were well-developed. The twist and turns makes it even more engaging. This book was definitely a page-turner. The language used is simple. The ending was really good and it makes it worth reading. The cover of the book is quite attractive. Overall, a must read for everyone.
Blurb: After a splendid performance in Big Daddy Casino, the floating casino in Goa, the singing sensation Roger along with his entourage were gunned down.
Review: One can call this book a one sitting read. It was a short novel. It had small chapters and lucid language. It starts with murder of a famous and talented singing sensation Roger. The story had different characters with possible motive to kill Roger. And the book keeps you hooked until you get to know the murderer, which is almost at the end. I tried to guess the murdered, but i failed. So i guess the author has done a great work. But the end was also so good. I won't spoil, but it won't be something that you expected.
Because it was a short read, it did felt like an episode of some crime series. Apart from that i loved ACP rathore's wife. She was a smart and funny.
This book my second read from the same author. I have equally liked his other book "One and a half love story". So I had to review this as well.
Set up under the scenic and art-loving backdrop of Goa is a thriller mystery involving an established singer/composer/songwriter who goes by the nickname Ruz. As we all are aware this content creation industry does give you massive fan-following but it also comes with it's own rivalry and sometimes more than often they turn fatal. Similar was the case with Ruz when he along with his entire band is found to be murdered, a shockwave surrounds Goa and a challenge awaits the police department. ACP Rathore picks up the baton of taking charge and catching the murderer. Overview------->>> The plots have two timelines and I wished for a smooth transition, which is more frame by frame and less bumpy around the corners.
Regardless the plot is still interesting and thrilling, justified for the genre. Seasoned readers would recommend more thorough editing and a little minimalistic cover for eg. The idea of all capitals with that font didn't really sit well with me. (Again it's a personal opinion, cover designing always takes alot more efforts than they make it visible)
Characters are well sculptured but author should have given them more time to grow, but it might have hampered the fast paced narration is my guess, so that's understandable.
I would recommend this for beginners in the genre of suspense thrillers given it's easy language and less number of characters.
Also I'm eager to read more thrillers from this author, the plots definitely have great potential⭐
It’s a murder mystery and that is my favourite genre so definitely I liked it. I will discuss key features of the plot is to avoid spoilers. Roger Fetnandez was a popular Goan singer, song writer, musician and composer. He was performing with Zoey who was born in family of powerful ministers. After a performance in Big Daddy Casino, they were attacked. Babu Shelke and Gauresh Gaonkar heard few gunshots. The story has been set up in Goa in two time frames, current and nine years earlier. ACP rathore is investigating the case as homicide. He was skeptical, candid and observant. His most of colleagues disliked him but these qualities made him good at job. The nine years earlier flashback story with Sam and Ruz seemed different to me at first but later on it started making sense. I liked how author has paid keen observation and portrayed perfectly regarding Goa’s surroundings and culture. I liked how author has mentioned two time frames in alternate chapters. Because if that gets wrong then story can become messy but author has done indeed great job in that area. Author has maintained suspense till the end. And it was unpredictable. So many links unfolded when you go further into the plot. So the question is who killed Roger? Read the book to know that. The language of the book is lucid so that everyone can enjoy reading it. I liked all twists and turns plotted. The narration style of the author is captivating. Overall good one. I enjoyed reading it. Recommended from my side.
"The Search" is a crime thriller set up in Goa. Roger Fernandez (Ruz) is an extremely popular singer, lyricist, musician and composer. One night after performing at the Big Daddy Casino, a floating casino in Goa with Zoey, who was also a very popular artist born into a family of ministers, he along with his entourage was shot by two mysterious people on bike. The news of singing sensation being shot left the whole city restless and ACP Rathore starts investigating the case as a homicide. Who killed Roger and why?
The whole plot is wrapped up within 170 pages, so it's definitely a short and fast paced read, can be completed within a single sitting or two. I liked ACPs character, he was smart, witty, candid and observant. The characters are also nicely penned, loved the childhood bond between Roger and his best friend Sam.
The ending is nice but very predictable and rushed out. There's continuous transition between past and present and I must appreciate the author for executing that smoothly. There wasn't any ambiguity anywhere and the language also was kept very vivid and lucid making it a suitable read for all. However, I didn't experience the thrill, the plot was kept very simple and it lacked enough twists and turns. I was hoping for a blockbuster ending but it felt kinda predicable. Nonetheless, it's definitely a nice pick if you're just starting with or experimenting with thrillers.
Set in Goa, a famous singing sensation Roger who just performed at a Casina was murdered with his bandmates who was coming back home on bike. A mystery begins which had to be solved by the ACP Rathore, who doubts and start investigating on all the suspects, Roger's wife, Deputy Chief Minister of Goa. Are they the murderer? The story is fast paced with no unnecessary elaborations. + point for this. The story is set in two time, today and 9 years ago in which we can see Roger's upliftment as a singer. He had many fans but enemies too! Twists after twists, investigations after investigation will ACP Rathore be able to find the culprit? The ending was not at all predictable for me. At times I do agree I predicted many endings this or that! But no! I wish to read an another sequel of this if the author would write🤩. Crime thriller are always my cup of tea!
Coming to the cover and the title of the book! Cover is simple it could have been more interesting but as we know don't judge a book by it's cover so I didn't judge at all! Title perfectly suits the plot of the book.
Narration: Fast paced with perfectly elaborated things written in simple language there were some errors but apart from that it was perfect!
Characterization: Author has don't justice to all the characters in the book, the characters were not much but not less though. It was soothing to read the book!

Genre 📸: Crime thriller/ Murder Mystery _______________ Overall Ratings 🌟 : 4.5 / 5 Pages📚: 184 Language : Easy and Elegant ______________ ♠️After a splendid performance in Big Daddy Casino, the floating casino in Goa, the singing sensation Roger along with his entourage were gunned down.
♠️ I almost had a fell of watching a CID episode, it was that mysterious. The best part to be appreciated is the switching between two timelines in a neat way so that it doesn't confuse the readers. But a decent concentration is required to understand the actual plot. Climax is not predictable! Hence suspense guaranteed!
♠️ Its a light mystery read. Those who don't prefer dark crime books can obviously go for it. It does have some modern western lifestyle mentions(minimum though!). Gripping story and easy language makes it a good choice for beginners too.
- Winters are for some me-time with a cup of our favorite beverage and a nice book. The Search by Vishal Anand is a perfect read for this. It is a murder mystery that explores the unnatural deaths of Roger and his fellow performer Zoey. Roger is a singer who had last performed on a floating casino in Goa along with Zoey, after which they were gunned down.
- Soon the case catches fire and reaches the public ear, pressurizing the police department to take action. ACP Rathore steps in to solve this twisted murder case. His ways of tackling situations are very different from his colleagues, which although leading him to be disliked by them, makes him unique. He begins by tracing back Roger and Zoey's life events. He is faced with puzzling questions such as who was the murderer(s)? What was the motive? Who were the shooters?
- The author provides flashbacks which, at first, is confusing but soon makes sense as things fall into place. It is an amazing plot. It was refreshing to read a well-written crime-mystery book that explores the characters deeply. The author has built a strong world of suspense that is very intriguing and makes it almost impossible to put down. The revelations of the mysteries at the end are very satisfactory.
- Overall it is a great book. Highly recommended to those looking for a mystery book that involves multiple characters and suspects, keeping your mind busy with all the possibilities.
