Cute Story...
All I want For Christmas, by Nora Robert's,
is a cute little love story. I found it just a tad bit cheesy, but for the most part, I enjoyed it. It's a quick read perfect for winter reading. 4****

The adorable twin boys drew me into the story with their wish for a mom for Christmas. But I quickly lost interest when they weren't featured front and center as the other characters weren't as amiable. The Christmas elements are minor and are more mere mentions than festive and joyous mood incitements. I can't comment too much on the romance as I inadvertently tuned out all the time, but it was the typical sort found in such books.
Speaking of tuning out -- the narrator's voice wasn't the right choice for this particular story -- he's a fine reader with a pleasant voice, and I can't say he didn't provide inflection, but I couldn't help but think he'd make a great newscaster or broadcast journalist for non-fiction pieces, but not for romances.
Give this one a try if you enjoy Nora Roberts older romances, but skip it and avoid disappointment if you're looking to be surrounded by Christmas festivities and holiday spirit.

I was instantly pulled into this short story. It was such an enthralling read that I finished in a single sitting. (And it felt real good to read this one without any interruption!)
Nell Davis, the heroine of this book, reminded me of Isadora from Hidden Riches. Oh, how I adored these women! Well, Nell was definitely no pushover. She was smart, independent, kind, and endearing. But best of all, she was very honest with herself and her feelings.
And well, about this brooding hero… At first, Mac was quite rude to Nell a couple of times. Although I could understand his fierce protectiveness toward his sons, I have to say that he didn’t make a good impression right from the start. But don’t worry, he did get better and redeem himself very well eventually. Anyway, I was pleased that Nell knew how to deal with stubborn person like him and I liked how she refused to let him ran hot and cold on her.
It was obvious from the start that there was the combustible attraction between them. And as time went by, when they got to know each other better, they finally found it impossible to deny this intense desire and chemistry between them. However, for Mac, there was an important question that he needed to ask himself… Was the only woman who could brighten up his dull life worth risking his heart again?
Mac didn’t move. Couldn’t. Something had happened while he sat three rows back, watching her on the stage. Seeing her smile, seeing tears in her eyes. Just seeing her.
He was in love with her. It was nothing he’d ever experienced. Nothing he knew how to handle. Running seemed the smartest solution, but he didn’t think he could move.
All in all, this was a lovely and heartwarming read. I enjoyed it immensely. Fans of Nora Roberts shouldn’t miss out on this one!

Twin little boys want a Mommy from Santa, so when the new music teacher shows up they decide Santa sent her for their Dad. If only they can get the grownups to agree.

I downloaded this book thanks to Audible's Romance Package on December 15, 2017. I'm pretty sure I listened to it immediately upon downloading it on December 15, too, so that's the date I'll put down for when I read it.
I love this story. It is my favorite of the two stories in The Gift: Home for Christmas / All I Want for Christmas, and I'm pleased to report that even though I never laughed (as I do when I read this story for myself), I DID cry in a couple of places. So Lauren Davis did what I'd call a pretty excellent job with the narration. :-)
This book is only 2h,57m long, but it's a wonderful holiday story. My love for Zeke and Zack shone through. :-)

Okay, I listened to this one in the car. Perfectly predictable and boring. I was looking for something to put me in the Christmas spirit. This wasn't the one to do it!

I know some romance readers don't like children in the books they read. While I don't always love children in romances, there are some scenarios that I can never resist. One of the scenarios if when children conspire to get their mother/father together with someone. So, naturally, I HAD to read All I Want for Christmas when I saw the summary. All I Want for Christmas by Nora Roberts was a seriously adorable holiday romance, that made me think of the best Hallmark movies.
Zack and Zeke are twin boys that live with their single father, Mac Taylor, in a small town. Mac adores his twin boys, and he works hard to be their provider, father, mother and friend. And he totally kicks butt at it. But Zach and Zeke want a mother, so before school begins they write a little to Santa telling him what kind of mother they want. And then they meet the new music teacher at school, Nell. And they KNOW that she is "The Mom." Hopefully, Mac will realize it too.
Seriously, Zach and Zeke were adorable. I can't say they are 100% realistic, but they had a lot of personality and spunk and I loved them. I could see how they thought that Nell would be perfect for their family.
There were some cliches in the book (like Nell's car breaking down at just the right place), but, I must confess, I wasn't reading this for the realism. I really did like Nell. She's pretty confident in herself, and that is wonderful to see in a heroine. And I liked Mac, even though he had some personal demons to deal with. There were some hurdles, but, of course, they work everything out by Christmas.
All I Want for Christmas is Classic Nora Roberts. She has a way of writing that I think I could pick out anywhere. It's a quick read, and things never go into a ton of depth, because this is a novella. What a cute Christmas love story! The narrator almost ruined it for me. Good thing I had the book from the Used book sale at the library. Plug. Plug. Go visit your local library.
Anway, it is exactly what it proclaims to be with a little touch of Christmas magic. I only wish there was an Epilogue (I am addicted to those things!). I would have really enjoyed seeing them in a few years preferably with the heroine preggers.

Got about half way through and gave up, just not good. Did not expect a lot, it was to be short, fun, holiday read. Waste of time.

This was a short story from Nora in the 90s. But the prologue really drew me in when the twins wrote their letter to Santa asking for "The Mum" and willingly forgo all their other presents, except for their bikes. It was really cute. As for the adults, Mac and Nell was an ok couple. Mac was wary about the kids getting hurt by the new music teacher from the Big Apple, who will most likely get tired of living in a country town. Being a pretty short story, I don't think there was enough time to really develop their relationship and the ending seems rushed. But overall, a pretty enjoyable listen.

Although technically a Christmas novella, Christmas has a pretty small part to play in this one. Because the book begins at the start of the school year, most of the story takes place over the fall months. The most Christmas we get aside from the boys’ wish is a Christmas concert at the very end. I think you could get away with reading this story any time of the year. I’m not sure it would be one to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Mac Taylor finds out the lengths to which his mischievous twin boys will go to find him the Christmas gift of new love.
This is an old NR that I had never read before. I had requested it from the library way before Christmas, but it just became available and I decided to read it. I am glad I did. The book is definitely dated (no cell phone and such) but you don't even miss it. A really cute read.

Zeke y Zack tienen seis años, son gemelos, viven con su padre y lo que más ansían es tener una madre. Por eso, a principios de septiembre, deciden escribirle una carta a Santa Claus para que se la consiga para Navidad, y que este tenga tiempo suficiente para encontrar a la adecuada.
Sin duda, los niños son mis personajes favoritos, aunque Mac y Nell me han parecido una pareja preciosa y me ha gustado mucho el modo en que se desarrolla su relación. Sin embargo, ni siquiera ellos pueden competir en encanto con los gemelos.
La historia es tierna, dulce y cumple todos los elementos característicos de este tipo de relatos. No obstante, la traducción que han hecho, en mi opinión, es bastante desafortunada porque me ha resultado en exceso literal y le quita mucha frescura y espontaneidad, de ahí que la calificación sea más baja.

I have mixed feelings for this short story.
On the one hand it's touching and you can feel the Christmas spirit thanks to Zach and Zeke, on the other the story between Mac and Nell is poorly constructed... I mean, I understand that
I understand that it's a short story but these are the things that drive me mad about romance novels.
And then the ending... to say rushed is an understatement... WHERE ARE ZACH AND ZEKE???

I think this is only my second Nora Roberts book, but I sense a theme of beautiful people falling in love with each other. Zeke and Zack Taylor decide that for Christmas they want a mom. They write Santa early in the fall so that he has time to find them a perfect woman for their dad to fall in love wit. When Nell Davis moves to their small community as the new high school music teacher the twin boys are smitten. She's beautiful and nice and they are certain that she's the one Santa sent. Their dad, Mac does notice Nell and the attraction is mutual, but he's so worried about hurting his boys or having a woman walk out on his boys that he's not sure if he even wants to purse things with Nell. Will the boys get their Christmas wish or not. Predictable and cheesy, but okay for a holiday novella.
