Swoon

Rate this book
Growing up, I knew my older brother’s best friend thought of me as “Logan’s kid sister.” For me, though, our next-door neighbor, Colin, felt like anything but a sibling. Whenever I spied on him through my bedroom window, as he banged away, shirtless, on his drum kit, I felt sensations inside me I’d never felt for my actual brother. But when we moved away and Colin’s band took off like a rocket, I knew my tweener fantasies would never become a reality.

Fast-forward nine years to my brother’s wedding, when I saw Colin again and we shared a secret, drunken kiss that rocked my world. The next morning, Colin blamed the alcohol. Said we should pretend the kiss, and my unfortunate text afterward, never happened.

Now that I’m heading to LA to work for Colin and crash at his place, though, all bets are off. I’m determined to make Colin swoon for me, the same way I’ve always done for him. Because no matter what he insisted, Colin’s body during our kiss, and the shocking thing he whispered into my ear right afterward, made it clear he doesn’t really think of me as his little sister, any more than I do.

me watching this doormat on steroids spend the whole duration of the book without a spine:

description

i didn’t feel comfortable at all with the language Colin used to describe Amy: “his doll”, “im going to pull my little puppet’s strings”, “im her puppeteer” ... he continuously knew how much power he had over innocent, adorably lovely little Amy and manipulated the fuck out of her. i wasn’t convinced he loved her— more so “i don’t want her but no one else can have her” type of guy.

i mean, even his nickname for her was ”my little puppet” i– how... lovely?

Colin was nothing more than a nauseating pseudo-good guy who used a poor girl as some sick power trip to feed his ego. he thought he was some sex god when he legit called Amy’s pussy hole her “bull’s eye”
👁👄👁 how rootin-tootin of you, my dude.

and the vibrator he uses on her was intended for his ex who broke up with him before he could use it on her :) every girly’s dream, huh?

and i think his ex-girlfriend summed him up perfectly:
“On her side of things, she thought I was uncommunicative and boring as shit.”

i skimmed after the 50% bcos Colin made me wanna shit in my hands and clap. the only part i devoured thoroughly was Amy ripping this wanker a new one. it was truly delicious... until his “grand gesture” and she falls at his feet again like the most pathetic marionette i have ever seen lmao.

he had this girl so brainwashed that she thought him doing the bare minimum (not even that) was swoon-worthy and awe inspiring— it takes him a few days to find her and she admits if he hadn’t have come when he had she would have ran back to him, apologising profusely for being too hasty and demanding too much of him...

she demanded to be treated like an equal, like a human being and not a shameful, dirty little secret. the audacity of this bitch, i know. idk how she’d dare ask so much of poor baby Colin with half a functioning brain cell.

description

and this mans really said he loved her from the moment he saw her... when she was fresh outta the womb with crusty vagina gunk on her. i rest my case😌

...woop-woop! that's the sound of da police...

Swoon Word Count 55

I know the title of the book is ”Swoon” but that doesn’t mean you use it after every other sentence.

Colin Beretta, appears and begins bounding down the center aisle in all his muscled, tattooed, charismatic glory. Swoon.

“Hello,” Colin says, his dark eyes twinkling. “I’m Colin.” Swoon. “Hi.” Swoon. “I’m Amy.” Swoon.

I link my arm in Colin’s—swoon—and catch a whiff of his cologne—swoon—and practically dance down the aisle with him

“Hi,” Amy says shyly. And I swear to God, when I look at her, I physically swoon a little bit.

Why do I keep swooning over a man swooning over a man who doesn’t, and never will, swoon back?

It came to the point where I thought even if either of them fart in front of the other they would be like SWOOOOOOOOON

description

Also the plot? It’s your typical h (Amy) pining after, sorry, I mean swooning after the H (Colin) for years but he never noticed her because of their 4 years age gap. And then they meet 6 years later and BAM Amy is all hot now with nice boobs and Colin can’t stop staring at them.

Swoon is perfectly titled because this one made me swoon so hard. It also made me laugh and smile non-stop, which is per the normal for a Lauren Rowe book!

Colin is the drummer of 22 Goats and if you've read some of Rowe's other books you know him already. This is a brother's best friend book, which I am always here for. Amy has been in love with her older brother's best friend since she was a kid, but he just had to go and get famous... sigh. Logan, Amy's brother and Colin's best friend, is getting married and both of them are in the wedding party. Amy hasn't seen Colin in years, not since she was a teenager, but she's looking forward to it.

When they see each other and spend time together, sparks fly. Even though for Colin, Amy feels so off-limits, she makes it hard to resist her. There were a few times through the story I was like COME ON COLIN! But by the end he got his stuff together in a big way. One of the best grand gestures. I loved Colin and Amy, but getting to spend time with the Morgan's, my favorite fictional family, was everything!

After reading this book and most of Rowe's others I desperately want (NEED) a C-Bomb book. Like, please please please! The ending of this one had me smiling huge and I was so in love with this couple. Lauren Rowe is definitely a top author for me and I'm always going to be reading everything she writes! Also, I listened to the audiobook and not only was the narration fantastic but the music in the audiobook blew me away! I love how it's incorporated into the story. I highly recommend listening to this one if you get the chance!

1.5-star ***SPOILERS***

What happened Lauren Rowe? These main characters are pathetic!

DNF @ 68% but started skimming by 9% coz:

1.) disliked both H and h
Both 23yo production-asst h and 27yo drummer wanna-be actor H were 2nd-rate characters. Obvious that they were side-kicks of main characters from previous books.

I especially disliked h. She was a sycophant who indulged in self-pity and pandering for sympathy from others via telling stories about her awkward and unpopular childhood and why no one from the band crew hit on on her after her open confession re: her paltry sexual experience with her college boyfriend. She was so pathetic that she “thank(ed)” H for mistakenly believing that her rockstar boss would deign to have sex with her.

H was a hanger-on who was lucky enough to be included in a rock band, which later became popular. He had similar stories about being a nobody and chubby as a kid until he started drumming. Without his band, he wouldn't have made it. His current trial as an actor is due to his famous connections and not really because he's such a skilled actor. Even his sexual skills aren't inherent like the other Rowe heroes in this series, he's had to watch videos and study things online to learn how to please his ex-GF (who ended up dumping him before he could demonstrate the new sex toy he just bought for her after some online study of it).

2.) lacked romance and emotion
h's feelings for H was 1-sided even up to 68%. Her feelings were immature and based on her childhood crush on him. She didn't seem to have difficulty jumping from her long crush on H to her college boyfriend. Her feelings for H didn't seem to be a factor in her quest in the last 9 months to get hit on by somebody/anybody in the band crew she worked with. When she blurted out ILY during sex with H, he backtracked after that. His mom had to talk to him to open up his eyes to a possible romantic relationship with h.

3.) sex chemistry was very meh. Sex scenes read more like a sex manual.
Their sex chemistry was awkward, mostly because the attraction was mostly 1-sided and based on h's childhood crush on H. She chased after H and kept begging him him to smex her:
”Amy whimpers and babbles an incoherent string of words, before desperately gripping my forearm and whisper-shouting, “I’ve got a room upstairs! Take me there and give me an orgasm, so I know I’m not defective. Give me one, so I know the problem isn’t me.”

She would never have been under his radar if it wasn't for her now-grown-up boobs and his mom telling him that he MUST feel something for this h. I don't think he was THAT clueless. He just wasn't THAT into her. He put more effort into his ex-GF who he was with off and on for 5 years than with h. He seemed to be more hung up on another woman he dated (wanted to date?) if not for her choosing his friend instead. h was really a 2nd-best pick for him.

Sex scenes were unsexy to me. H approached sex with h like he had something to prove. He's not an alpha dominant Hero and it showed even in their sex scenes. Yeah, he made her orgasm but it seemed more technical than romantic or even smutty.

4.) dialogue was immature
H and h’s dialogue was very immature-sounding with lots of name-dropping (h kept telling him about band members she worked with despite her Non-Disclosure Contract with them in order to keep H’s interest in their conversation). Lots of repetitions of “Swoon”/guffawing/giggling/squealing, not impressed with these two. I couldn't take them seriously. I kept wondering why Rowe would dedicate a whole book about these 2.

Sexual History:
h had kissed other buys but was de-virginized by her 1-yr long BF in college who only did oral on her once and neither liked it. @26% H&h kiss the 1st time after h blurted out of nowhere that she’d never had an orgasm with her ex-BF and he took it as a challenge. @45% H&h smex with agreement that it’s a temporary thing to help h achieve O in sex. H was with his GF for 5 years before she dumped him. He did research to max out her pleasure and bought her sex toys but she dumped him anyway. @59% h blurts out ILY to H after her last massive O during the planned orgasm-fest he gave her.

No info on other lovers/GFs he had before his ex-GF. No info on lovers he's had after they broke up either. He did have a lot of fan offers to smex him but not sure if he ever took 1 up.

Well it’s no surprise that LR hit the mother-load again! This one gave me a swift kick in the romance feels. This is why I love romance books! They just fill my cup in a way other genres can’t. And if I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. LaurenRowe has a gift! She’s created this whole universe of characters that truly feel like family you know them so well. I’ve wanted Colin’s story since Dax’s book, and man did Lauren deliver! If you love the best friends sister/friends to lovers romance, then come to Mama folks. Amy became a fast fave of mine. She had gumption, and grit to her that I didn’t expect. She knew exactly what she wanted, and boy did she get it, but not without a little pain first. I understood Colin so much coming from a divorced home, and having to protect myself from being hurt so you only allow others but so close. I know full well what the love of someone who is your soulmate can break through, helping you face head on and heal from the barricades you created. My heart is swooning on top of swooning over this story. Lauren will always be a unicorn.

This book had everything I'm come to expect from Lauren Rowe and this world. Of course, it is filled with characters I adore and little tidbits for those of us who are huge fans of all the characters in the Morgan Brothers universe. Of course, as is true with all the books that revolve around the Morgan Bros, this can be read as a standalone (I personally think that you enjoy these books much more if you start with the Morgan Bros series, but that's just me!)

I can't tell you how grateful I am that Lauren Rowe always takes the time to not only cast her audiobook narrators so well if she's not narrating herself, but also to include things like original music that is actually REALLY good. (Smitten is on repeat around here because my girls are obsessed with it. My 9yo sang it to her friend on Valentine's day via video chat - it was so cute).

ANYway, back to the book. Normally, I prefer when the hero is the one who is pining when it comes to, well, any romance, but particularly in childhood-friends-to-lovers. In this case, Colin doesn't quite realize (or admit) his feelings for Amy right away, but she has been swooning after him her entire life. What makes this particular situation different is that while Amy's feelings are strong, she doesn't let them turn her into a doormat. I love, love, LOVE it when a heroine tortures the hero and makes them jealous to prove a point. Is that weird? I don't care, but that's what Amy does and I was so here for it. And let me tell you, Colin's response was SO SATISFYING! Just like this book, to be completely honest.

I know I need to slow down when reading Lauren's books since I've read every single one and no longer have a backlist to cling to, but it's my ultimate struggle. I just can't stop reading them once I've started!

Anyway, if you know me, you know Lauren Rowe is one of my all-time fav contemporary romance authors so it shouldn't be a surprise that I adored this book.

I'm so sick of this trope. It's literally a formula, maybe someone can tell me if these are all right lol

Hero is older so heroine has crush forever

Heroine watches him fuck his way through hundreds of women

Hero finally notices her once she is hot and he has had all his fun

Heroine is either a virgin or has had one bad sexual experience

Hero pushes away bc he doesnt like committment/doesnt want to upset his friend

HEA blah blah blah

Someone grab a fire extinguisher - these two are HOT together. While I didn't swoon over the emotional connection in this rock star romance, I definitely felt the physical connection. It's tense and steamy with some great moments, and Rowe's excellent writing shines throughout. This rock star doesn't know what hit him when the girl next door comes back into his life... and she's not a girl anymore. They've got some serious chemistry and there are plenty of off-the-charts sexy scenes, plus so many visits from other beloved characters. The relationship was too sex-focused and one-sided for me to truly get invested in the love story, but it was definitely a sexy, engaging read.

The story follows Colin, the last single guy in his group of friends. While he'd like to find a love of his own, it's not easy to date when you're in the spotlight. So when the girl next door, Amy, comes back into his life, it's a shock to Colin's system. Amy doesn't hide the fact that she's crushed on Colin for years, and would love to couple up immediately. She's inexperienced in the bedroom and thinks Colin would be the perfect guy to change that - or claim her forever. But dating Amy comes with all kinds of strings, and Colin isn't ready for that. Because she's swooned over Colin for years, Amy is willing to take whatever she can get from him... even if that means she'll be left heartbroken in the end.

Is this a standalone? Yes and no. The romance definitely is - Colin and Amy haven't seen each other in years when the book begins, and we get their full story here. But there are a LOT of characters in Rowe's books, with multiple series crossing over and visits from plenty of old favorites. I've read enough of her books that I know who everyone is now, but I can't honestly say that this would read well to someone starting fresh. That being said, those connections make this a richer story, and it was great to catch up with everyone. As for Colin and Amy's romance, I liked it. Didn't love it. Colin does everything he can to deny his feelings for Amy - saying that she's like a little sister, keeping the strings to a minimum, calling her his sexual "puppet." And that goes on for a lot longer than I wanted. I didn't swoon over them as a couple, and Amy seems very, very desperate during parts of the book. That's all intentional, but it also means that I wasn't as invested in them as a couple as I'd like. They certainly have a connection in the bedroom - there are some high heat steamy scenes - but I wanted more from them outside of it. Overall, a solid addition to the series, and one that left me wanting the next installment ASAP. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy rock star romance.

the conflict dragged a bit towards the end and i didn't love how he didn't recognize his feelings for her. also, when they did recognize his feelings for each other it did more really quickly. like they only knew each other for 3 weeks as adults.

that all being said, this book was sooo steamy and had classic lauren rowe banter, which i lovee

I really loved Smitten so of course I would give Swoon a try.

I was really enjoying this book but things changed a bit for me when Amy demanded Collin that he had to come clean and tell her brother about them only after a week together. Who does that? It made things feel like instalove where Collin was concerned. And also, the story started getting a bit too corny from there.

Still, the audiobook was a treat! The author added some original music that definitely took this reading experience to a whole other level.

And did someone else love Collin’s mom as much as I did?

“𝚂𝚘, 𝚒𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞’𝚛𝚎 𝚜𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚢 𝚘𝚗𝚕𝚢 𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚙𝚘𝚘𝚛 𝚐𝚒𝚛𝚕 𝚊𝚜 𝚊 𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚝𝚕𝚎 𝚜𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛, 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚗 𝚙𝚞𝚕𝚕 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚝 𝚝𝚘𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚝𝚎𝚕𝚕 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚍𝚒𝚌𝚔 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚊 𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔 𝚜𝚎𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚙 𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚖𝚒𝚡𝚎𝚍 𝚜𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚊𝚕𝚜. 4 1/2 "It was always you." Stars!

Okay so Lauren Rowe is quickly being an auto 1-click favorite author for me. Her rom-com style just does it for me. There is always sweet with a whole lot of heat and some heart thrown in. Swoon was no different. I loved Colin and Amy. I've wanted Colin's story every since Dax had his story. I'm so happy all the Goats are paired up. Amy was the character that surprised and delighted me most in this one. For a while there I thought she was going to be the very definition of doormat, but this sweet, organized lady had some BITE! And I was here for it! Doormat she was not. I was also refreshing to have a main female character dream of having a family and home to care for. That was here dream and there was nothing at all wrong with that. I loved it. Someone else I loved was Colin's mom. This boy ain't got a chance. He is surrounded by fierce women. YES!

Now Bring on C-Bomb!!! He's got to have his HEA. Please Ms. Rowe!! In the meantime, I still have a lot of LR goodness to catch up on. Happy reading!

This is on me. I should've known better not to completely trust an author after reading just one book from her/him.

This chick swooned over her brother's best friend when she was five years old.
The book takes place when she's twenty-three and guess what ? She still has a crush on him. Yeah, I'll leave that for you to do the math.

Chapter 2 - h's POV
Over the years, I came to accept my crush on Colin was and always would be a one-way street. For one thing, our four-year age gap felt insurmountable. For another, he always treated me like a kid sister. But mostly, I knew I'd never get to fulfill my fantasy of kissing Colin Beretta because, instinctively, I knew the flat-chested, frizzy-haired tweener I saw in the mirror would never be able to compete with the stunning, curvy girls I saw Colin regularly sneaking through his parents' side gate, under cover of darkness.

One thing is clear, he never once looks at her like she's anything other than his best friend's little sister.
But the moment this swoon worthy man meets her at the wedding, he's gone all surprised How the hell are you Amy O'Brien ?. I guess it's understandable because in his memories, Amy was just an ordinary girl who lived next door but now she's HOT AF he wants to bang her.

Some people might argue that he didn't make a move on her because she's his best friend's little sister and that means she's off limits.
So what's different now ?! Just because she's a beautiful woman now, that makes her no longer his best friend's little sister?

I forgot to mention, he was written like a God-gift-to-women in the first chapter. Just another reason to swoon over him.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Colin was now the only member of 22 Goats that was single. Actually he was the only single one left out of the people he loved the most. The Morgan Mafia were all attached, his fellow band members were too, and this weekend his best friend Logan was getting married. He was the lone single person in his circle.

He knew he was proud to be a groomsman at the last of his friends to become a married man. Colin would be their for Logan's big day, but he never expected that is "assigned bridesmaid" would be her. Logan's "little " . she was now 23 and he was 27...and the sparks flew from the point he linked his arm in his and walked her down the aisle.

This is a Standalone, but if you are a loyal fan of Lauren's, this book is full of the Morgan Mafia and 22 Goats.

Colin knows he wants Ames, but to him she is forbidden fruit. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. You will think, laugh, and get pissed off. Is it worth reading? Hell yeah. My honest to God moment is when the next generation of the Morgan Mafia, Mia, knew Uncle Colin screwed up. Yup, baby Mia Morgan.

Awesome read, and I want to tell Lauren "You did good son....and that's why I love you the most."

4.5 STARS

Lauren Rowe always delivers dirty talking heroes, outrageous characters, and laugh out loud romances. Swoon was absolutely all of these things.

Colin has been a character I have been intrigued by since we met him as a secondary character in previous books. He is charismatic, easy going, but he has some insecurities. There are times where it seemed like he felt he was replaceable and only kept around because he was the friend. Throughout the novel, he is searching for his spot, his place to stand alone. This very much transferred over to his relationships, thinking he was the transient hook up or boyfriend. That is until Amy.

Amy was a really great heroine. She has been in love with Colin since they were neighbors, and while she hasn't been waiting and pining over him all these years, she definitely knows what she wants now and isn't afraid to call him on it. I also found her issues in the bedroom to be very relatable, and I loved that she gave Colin the cold, hard truth when it was needed.

Swoon is a brother's friend trope. It is filled with a cast of characters who are just crazy in every good way. The Morgan family is eccentric in the best way, and I love that they just continue to collect people, particularly Dax's band members, Colin and Fish. The story does move at a very fast pace and they jump right into the steam. There may be some scenes that skeeve some readers out; however, I really did love the Lauren Rowe chose to show those scenes. They felt realistic and an accurate representation of that moment vs. a romanticized one. There are also some moments where the characters seemed to be a bit too outlandish, but it is a part of how Lauren Rowe writes certain characters. The grovel was great but also expected, and there was not much that happened in the book that I didn't expect.

The audiobook, as all of hers are, was so well done. I always love that she adds the music and songs to the audiobooks. They just add a bit of something extra to it all.

If you are looking for a romcom that will have you laughing, panting from the dirty talk, and swooning hard, Lauren Rowe's newest release is exactly what you need.

I am such a sucker for a friends to lovers romance so prepare yourself for Colin Barretta. Drummer of 21 Goats, Amy's first crush, Logan's best friend turned rock star and oh yes matched up as a partner with the lovely but sassy Amy. Amy has been biding her time before she was front and center with her childhood crush. Colin helped her land a PA job in the music industry sight unseen and she did her job more than well. Yes he may have only saw her as a kid sister but as she stands before him at the rehearsal much to her surprise he has no idea who she is and oh my is he flirting with her.
Colin is back and his best friend is getting married. It will be great to catch up with his old friends maybe hook up with a bridesmaid and be on his way. Much to his surprise and delight he is standing before one of the most lovely girls he has seen in a long time. Sass, intelligent and oh yes he just found out it is Amy ! This couple has fabulous chemistry, so much underlying sexual tension and they know each other so well that their conversations are easy and their witty banter is just delightful. Get ready to Swoon for Colin and Amy!

Witty, sweet and oh-so-swoony, Swoon is a charming read.

Beautifully written, filled with so much heart, laughter and heat this story is a compete delight.
Collin and Amy are absolutely perfect together. Collin is sweet and kindhearted, yet emotionally stunted by his baggage. Amy is cute and quirky and instantly loveable, and the perfect woman to knock Collin on his ass. With sizzling chemistry and a connection that can only come from years of knowing each other, their journey is one that will have you swooning to the moon and back.

5 stars and a love song

P.S.
So many bonus points for one of THE BEST ass chewing scenes ever written, Amy - you go girl!

If you are a fan of low-angst, friends-to-lovers, and all the feels, you will love Swoon. Although a stand-alone, I really enjoyed visiting characters from many past books including all of the Morgans, Kat and Josh, Reed and Georgie, Fish and Alesandra, and rock stars from the other bands. If you haven’t read anything by Lauren Rowe before, this book will surely make you want to dive in and get the back story on the other wonderful supporting characters whom have burrowed deep into my book lovin’ heart.

In Swoon, Colin Beretta is a very successful drummer in the rock band “22 Goats” with his childhood friends Dax Morgan and Matthew Fishberger (Fish). Colin is back in his hometown of Seattle to attend the wedding of his friend Logan O’Brien, and sees Logan’s little sister, Amy, for the first time in almost a decade. Of course, she is all grown up now and their four-year age difference no longer matters. These two are flirty, fun, and uber-sexy, and Lauren Rowe gets an A+ in writing steamy scenes!

Lauren’s writing makes me smile so big my cheeks hurt while I am reading. The author is truly a romantic at heart because this book is full of SWOON. Even Amy made me swoon as she openly gushed about crushing on Colin since she was a child. I loved how his mother was routing for them to become a couple and how she embarrassed him, how they gravitated towards one another and felt the heat, and naturally fell into easy conversation and friendship with not so friendly desires.

This book was about their journey to become a romantic couple out in the open as their secret friends-with-benefits situation did not sit well with Amy. She quickly bonded with his friends Violet and Alessadra, and I totally agree with the advice they gave when she shared her dilemma about Colin.

I admired Amy when she stood up for herself and gave Colin a piece of her mind, but it bothered me when she said he should donate more to charity as one of his character flaws. She had mentioned this before and he explained how he gave back, and unless she saw his tax records, investments, and they were married, I feel it was unfair fair of her to judge him.

I was so excited that C-Bom (another drummer) was featured and how he shared a close friendship with Amy. He was often misunderstood and I always knew he was a great guy. C-Bom experienced such growth over the past few books, and he also made me swoon in Swoon! I am so glad he finally had closure with something that happened in his past. It warms my heart when people can forgive and move on, and this happened with several characters in this book including our hero and heroine, and shows just how relatable these characters are.

Colin’s rise to fame in the music industry was because of the band's raw talent and a few breaks, and I liked how he was able to branch out and try his hand in acting with his friends’ full support. I also admired him for being honest about his contributions to the band and how humble he was. The original music the author included will draw you into the story even further as you can play it directly from your e-reader.

When you are in your early 20’s it’s difficult determining a career path, and I admired Amy's independence and how she was able to evaluate her strengths and channel them to find her own niche.

Colin and Amy were always meant to be and readers will enjoy his grand gesture, as well as a glimpse into their future in the epilogue of Swoon.

Lauren Rowe couldn't choose a better name for Colin and Amy's love story. This brother's best friend rockstar romance will hit you right at all the swoony feels for sure. Flirty. Sexy. Sweet. Emotional. Every glamorous dramatic moment you can expect from Lauren Rowe's rockstar romance. Just pure romance goodness.
.
The drummer of famous rock band 22 Goats, Colin Berreta is home to attend the marriage of his childhood best friend and neighbour Logan. And here he meets Logan's sister Amy after years. The thoughts running in his head is nowhere near brotherly though. He has helped Amy with an assistant job with another famous band previously and he offers Amy another job his personal assistant for a week. What will happen when they stay together in Colin's LA home? Specially when Amy had a crush on him forever...and she wants to show him that she is not little sweet Amy anymore!
.
Colin is the perfect combination of charming and hot and flirty. He has difficulty expressing his emotions and the fast way he was falling for Amy made him panick and act foolishly. But you would have no shield against his charm. He is such a sweetheart but oh wow he knows his wicked ways too. And I loved Amy even more! A tiny bit girl crush I think! She may be totally in love with Colin and he may make her knees weak..but that doesn't mean she just took everything silently. She has a brilliant fierce side that never stopped showing Colin when he is being emotionally closed. She is such a bright soul and everyone falls in love with her instantly. The forbidden part of best Friend's sister was woven well with this passionate and sweet romance. They tried to be casual and tried to keep it superficial but after the heartaching mistakes they realised that it's love.I missed all Morgan brothers and the 22 Goats and all the characters so much and I was over the moon to revisit all of them. And be ready for some really amazing grand gestures!
.
Lauren Rowe sure knows how to bring the heat with the sweetness and Swoon was another soulful and swoonworthy romance.

it's honestly weird that i stayed up late to read several chapters of this book without even closing my kindle because i was hooked knowing the fact this author is a big no-go for me. i tried her most loved book and i didn't like it. her cheesy writing just didn't make me feel anything beside embarrassment. funnily enough with this one, it kind of won me – around 1/4 of the book. until Colin goes dumbity dumb and stupid as HELL.

dear lord, i have 0 ounce of patience when it comes to dumb characters i just want to squeeze that sour lemon of them and dump them on the trash. except when it comes to lemon i drink the shit out of that while with dumb characters i would pour their bitter sweat on my enemy's favorite drink.

i love the part when Amy just called him out left and right and Colin literally... LITERALLY... had thee Auda City to get turned on.

i was on the brink of getting violent right there.

i like the family moments and all, except when they talked about Peen's penis being on TV, im sorry we've had enough dicks on Euphoria we dont need more dicks on every other TV show it's nauseating #BanDicks. i want every TV programs to put PG shows right now because we don't want to see dick on our screen. dear Lord please give me patience.

so it is a 3 stars, because i really really really like C-bomb so much, he makes me want to cry. i dont want to read the other books though just to see him get heartbroken and hate the other characters of this universe... just naw. and the fact this is the only book of this author that doesn't give me the major ick.

i think it's safe for me to just read C-bomb and maybe Kendrick, idk. unfortunately, i don't know if later this author might drop C-bomb and Kendrick's book and it will turn out to be a big turn off for me.

no please don't pray for that im gonna be very devastated if i won't like C-bomb's book 😭

Da sempre innamorata del miglior amico di suo fratello Logan, Amy va letteralmente in visibilio quando, dopo nove anni, rivede il suo amato Colin batterista della rock band 22 Goats, al matrimonio. Colin è affascinante, famoso, divertente e adorabile.

I am going to start by saying that I recommend reading at least the Morgan Brothers Series before reading this. I had already read Smitten but not the Morgan Brothers ones and I felt I was always missing a piece of the story. BUT you do not need to read them in order to understand Amy and Colin’s story.

Amy is a little bit of everything, she is sweet and sassy. She is often unsure of herself but when she sets her mind to it, she can also exude the greatest amount of confidence. Colin is a rockstar but also a bit insecure when it comes to his new acting career. He is down to earth for a rockstar but also a very possessive man.

Colin met Amy the day her parents came home from the hospital with her, she is his best friend's little sister and we learn more throughout the novel how much he has always had a soft spot for her. But he insists he only sees her as a little sister. After a kiss at a wedding, Amy decides to force Colin to admit that she is nothing like a sister to him. Their chemistry and banter was perfect. There was an intensity about them that made even the smallest conversation seem more powerful. The book lives up to its name, you are going to swoon over Colin and his possessive behavior.

Beautifully written, this book takes you on a journey of Colin and Amy as friends to lovers and also Colin’s journey while he tries to figure out what he wants. He says Amy is like a sister to him, but does he really mean it? He says he does not want any relationship, but does he really mean that too? My heart broke for Amy while she tried to figure out her place in Colin’s life, and learned how to stand up for what she deserves in a relationship.

One of the most unique things about these stories are the original songs that are written into the story but are also recorded for you to listen to them. Make sure you check them out as they come up in the book!

This book had me swooning from page 1! I absolutely adored Colin and Amy from the start.

Colin and Amy grew up next door to each other, he is best friends with her older brother. They end up reuniting at Amy’s brothers wedding and from there things really start to change between them.

There is no shortage of chemistry between Colin and Amy. These two are heating up the pages anytime they are remotely close to each other. Their connection is electric from the start and only continues to grow stronger. I couldn’t get enough of them. Their history makes things complicated, but there is no denying that they are perfect for each other from the start.

From the wonderful soundtrack, to the insane amounts of chemistry and steam, to the characters from previous books popping in left and right, and of course Colin’s mom this story was addictive, swoony and beautiful.

If you’re looking for a brothers best friend, friends to lovers, rockstar romance this is one to read!
