Taylor Ross-Gains’ marriage was on the rocks and she would do anything to save it until a situation reveals that her marriage is incapable of being saved. No longer feeling desired or loved, she focuses on her kids and career as a surgical technician. With her scattered schedule and her husband’s long days and nights, they were in need of a nanny.
When one of her long-time friends suggests Keith Stewart, she’s hesitant, but he blows her away with his impressive resume and charm. She offers him not only a job but a place in their family.
Keith was always very professional and impeccable with kids, and working for Taylor was no different until he gets to spend more time around her. The friendship they built was exceptional, but the attraction building was staggering and soon became undeniable.
With Taylor fresh out of a marriage and Keith’s previous trauma, it would be logical that they wouldn’t rush into anything serious, but Keith is all in. He wants Taylor and the kids.
Taylor is soon overwhelmed by Keith’s possessive behavior and with his accidental confession about his past, she forces him to look deeper to see if a life with her is what he wants or if he’s just filling a void.

I'm not quite sure how I feel after this read! It definitely had my emotions all over the place! I felt for Taylor, dealing with a husband who treated her so badly. She loved her kids and wanted to be a good wife, but at what expense? Keith! I was instantly intrigued by him, as he had this mystery to him during the interview. He was great with the children, and a good friend to Taylor, but one could feel that something was up with him. He just seemed to unravel and his behavior became erratic all of a sudden, out of the blue. The chemistry between Keith and Taylor was hot, but you could just feel that there was still something holding them both back. Learning the rationale behind Keith's behavior was shocking and sad. The back and forth with Keith, and Warren trying to reinsert himself into Taylor's life was aggravating! Then Elisa resurfacing and plotting like that, was a bit over the top for me! However, I am glad that Keith found the clarity that he needed to move on, and be healthy in this next phase of his life. Was really surprised at how mature everyone was at the end as well.
This was an intriguing storyline and one that I’ve never read. I think there was a lot of things happening but it was really obvious that Taylor and Keith were attracted to each other. I think Keith should have been upfront with Taylor about his ex and his son. I liked the theme of forgiveness, dealing and processing grief, and second chances at love. This was my first read from this author and looking forward to reading new work from her.
In a genre where everything becomes cliché/predictable, this was something different. I enjoyed not being able to say which way the story was unfolding. They made a mess, but the ending was worth the clean up.
I’m not sure how I feel about this book. I didn’t hate or love it, but I was intrigued and wanting to know how it was going to end. This story had many ebbs and flows between the main characters and there were some editing issues, but not too much to take away from wanting to complete the story and see how it ended.
Ms. Lovett I am not so sure if you are a newbie to this literary game or not. You did amazing on your first book, I am highly impressed. I will be reading more of your masterpieces as they dropped. The storyline and plot was well executed, it touched on so many gut wrenching topics.
The first character I have to mention is Warren. He was a serious piece of work. The way he treated Taylor was so disrespectful. I couldn't believe when he kicked her out of the bed, eight weeks postpartum. I was in shock. 😲 And poor baby Ashton did not stand a chance. He didn't ask to be here for his father to not accept him. It always perplexes me when men finally realize they have screwed over a good woman, but what really stun me is the next woman. Warren did not want Taylor but the lady he chooses to be with was just like her in personality and mannerisms.
I was glad when Keith came into the picture because he was light and encouragement. He did have his own issues he needed healing from but overall he was the man that Taylor didn't only want but needed. He treated her and the kids as his own literally. He really did walk into their lives at the right time. His ex was psychotic and I understand hurt people hurt people, but she took her "revenge" too far. Keith and Taylor finally both got the chance to experience true love 😍 from each other.
This is a magnificent read for a debut. You will be highly surprised how well it is written with plot twists to be a first book. The kids alone will draw you in because Miss Rubby was so intelligent. I am looking forward to what is next because if this is the beginning I can only what is to come.
I read the blurb of this book and got super excited. The story of a Black male nanny falling in love with his boss sounds so exciting. They had good chemistry and I was excited about the potential of this story. However, it isn’t exactly what I was expecting, leaving me with serious mixed feelings. Taylor is dealing with the most from her disrespectful husband so when Keith arrived treating her with respect while bringing some order to her household, I was loving it. As time progresses, we are privy to more information about Keith’s past and unexpectedly, his behavior becomes erratic and I have major issues about the decisions he makes in this book. One in particular. There is no way on earth I even entertain a happily ever after with this man after what he did. Ain’t no damn way. Keith needs help and I’m glad he made some steps to get it, cause if I’m being honest, the man is CRAZY and Taylor is taking a huge risk with him. This book is not free from drama nor over the top revelations. In the end’ Keith definitely left a bad taste in my mouth concerning this story. I would read more from this author, hopefully her storyline is less cringe moving forward.
This was a cute story with a lot of potential. Taylor was in a loveless marriage with her cheating abusive husband. After just having her son, Taylor was looking for a nanny and her friend recommended Keith. Keith used to be a teacher, so he was great with kids, but he had a secret. The two started spending time together and Keith began to take care of Taylor along with the children. While I enjoyed her getting her lick back, Keith soon became toxic. When he took the kids from her mother’s house and she got hit by the car, I was like this is too much. While people love the dominant man trope, it did not always feel right in this story. Keith also had a habit of running from his problems. When Taylor found out she was pregnant, I am tired of the pregnancy trope, her keeping it was dumb. Like girl this nigga been gone 3 months now. For him to come back and you see him with Elisa, like girl bffr. The story jumped forward a lot and it felt like something was missing in the middle, also the turn of Elisa trying to kill him was a bit much.

Okay I saw none of this coming. It’s so many requests and turns! You could tell something was up with Keith & then when you finally mean what it is really sucks. Now, why did the friend recommend him to nanny when she knew he was going through that is the better question. Idk I didn’t see an actual connection between Taylor & Keith …maybe a trauma bond & he learned her kinks because they didn’t go on dates or anything.
Now The friend bringing in Elisa … then Elisa & her brothers? Idk it just seems like filler for another big moment…then all of them co-parenting together?
I know books aren’t real but let the plot flow. We saw the ex husband was horrible the whole book then…they co parent.
Taylor hires Keith as a nanny for her young children while her marriage is crumbling. The attraction is immediate, but can either of them move on from the past.
Okay, the core of the story captured me and I liked it. Keith having to confront his demons and the child he lost, Taylor vacillating between wanting to move on and whether she could trust her husband again. That part was good. I would have been happy just seeing them work through those things without all of the unhinged behavior creating dramatic moments in the story. There was so much happening it felt like a distraction. Keith's questionable behavior, the mother of his child's behavior, Taylor's ex still floating on the periphery, her own back and forth--it was jumbled in some places and I didn't root for Taylor and Keith like I thought I would. I didn't trust Keith after he acted like that, and I didn't think the ex changed at all. It didn't feel like any of them were considering the kids enough, imo. Lol.
Well, this was different! Nothing... & I mean, nothing happened like i thought it would. These characters were intense. Everyone had such big emotions.
Warren was a delusional nightmare and awkwardly aggressive. Keith was much too intense & also intensely aggressive. It took me a minute to understand Taylor cause are you a sarcastic pushover or a bad b!+ch? Elisa should have been in therapy, like an extended stay at a hospital cause she was not ok. Then, all of a sudden, everyone was normal. Haha! I've never been more confused, but it was such a good read.
I really wanted to like this book. I loved the premise and loved the "falling in love with the manny" idea. But Keith just rubbed me the wrong way. I wanted better for Taylor. To me there's a fine line between being supportive and overstepping/doing too much. Throughout the book Keith was tip-toeing on that line, but towards the end, he was tap-dancing and milly-rocking all over that fine line. He just did too much. Maybe he would've made a better mate for Taylor (in my opinion) AFTER he did the work to heal from his past traumas. I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.
Taylor was such an amazing mom and wife. I hate that Warren treated her so bad. He didn’t deserve a woman like Taylor. I love the story of Keith being a manny. Keith was a breath of fresh air for Taylor. He also had some unresolved issues that needed to be address. The chemistry between Taylor and Keith was so hot! I don’t want to give to much away but this is a book you must read.
This was definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions. I wasn’t quite sure how things were going to play out and there were a lot of twists and turns. I was starting to think Keith was a little unhinged but knowing his background I understand him better. The storyline was unique and kept me guessing. I’m very happy with the way things ended
Listennnn!! This book grabs the reader and holds on tight until the end!! So many jaw dropping moments, turning the pages in disbelief (because I know I didn’t just read what I thought I just read), and some 🔥🔥🔥 chemistry from Taylor & Keith. This was a bomb read, if this is your next read… you will not be disappointed 💪🏾 Happy reading 💖
That Keith is something else! 🔥🔥 He came in with guns blazing after Taylor and I was not upset about it. This was my first read by Ms. Lovett, and if I’m not mistaken, this was her debut. I enjoyed this read, and while there were some plot development points that could have used some fleshing out, I look forward to reading more from her.
I really don’t know how to feel after reading this book. The story wasn’t all bad, but something feels off about it. From the way the author had Keith kidnap the kids from their grandmothers home then Taylor still being in love with him seemed weird. Maybe it’s just me. Again, the story wasn’t all bad though. Warren definitely didn’t deserve a happy ending imo.

This book was AWESOME from beginning to the very end. I absolutely love me some Keith and how amazing he was as a man, a Manny and a lover. Please give me more books to read like this. Beautifully written.
This was a touching book. I so enjoyed reading it. I felt bad for Taylor because Warren was an butt and took his feelings out on an innocent child. Then when things was looking up Keith had to come to turns. But in the end they all got their happiness.
Whew, everybody in the book was cray-cray.It was good but everyone definitely had their moments of dysfunctionalnism. Elisa more so than anyone. Glad it worked out for everyone.
I loved this story! The love, anger, suspense, humiliation, confusion, hurt, pain, healing.....right back to love. I'm looking forward to so much more from this author.
This book was good. The story kept u intrigued. The whole Elisa situation was definitely unexpected . Warren was stupid and lost out on his family. Glad Keith got the family he always wanted
I was not sure what to expect from this read but very interesting and page turner. Keith was battling his past and acceptance and Taylor was dealing with anew future. How was this going to work?
This was very first time reading about a manny ( male nanny). Keith was sex with BDE and was good with children. What a catch!! I loved watching Keith and Taylor fight and fall in love. This is a very beautiful story with a HEA
This was my second book by this author and I must say I enjoyed it. There were some crazy moments and I do understand what some other readers said about the last minute “drama”, but this was a solid story. It was a perfect cocktail of spice, drama and love. Very enjoyable.
This book had me going through so many emotions lol I wanted to laugh, cry, fight. It was such a beautiful love story and the ending was everything. I definitely recommend this book.
