A dark action/adventure fantasy heavy-echii series. I was drawn by the cover art before but passed over it because I was like ehh maybe too close to hentai.

I ended up trying Haruki’s other series first “cat in a hot girls dormitory” and liked the art style and silly premise. It never got more updates on more volumes. I will say the girls tend to look very similar in some senses, but that’s possibly arguable.

Finally decided to give this a try since more volumes were getting released of this, and now I see why. It has all the potential for great story elements for comedy, serious/drama, action, romance, plenty of sexual content, and to top it all of great backgrounds and detailed characters. The over arching narrative of a “cult” spreading a message of higher morality. Basically no more sexual acts and worship god but done in a very interesting curse way, you’ve been warned lol

Im excited to start volume 2! (Glad volume 2 isn’t as heavy as 1, one feels like a ton of bricks it’s so bizarre the pages feel like the heaviest paper pages I’ve ever held)

The story is pretty slapstick and silly, but it's clear what the intentions of this book is so I can't muster the energy to criticize the plot here. The story follows Arakusa, a ninja-in-training who is often sent on missions that require more sex than actual ninja skills. There are genuinely funny moments, but it's pretty clear that this is purely meant to be smut. The artwork is pretty appealing overall, so I'd say this was mission accomplished by Haruki.

For the first volume the story is not bad, it has potential for more. It is dark and disturbing at times and other times humorous. At a few occasions I was confused if the actions were actually happening or in the mind, and I still after reading it twice now don't know. The art style is very nice though, I know the focus is the female lead. I just wish the men were not so weird looking.

Currently reading; is it just me, or is this book translated a bit… stilted? It’s a bit difficult for me to fully understand. I feel like phrases/dialog are cut short, or just don’t flow as well as they should.

Great stuff art-wise, but the odd translation/writing brings it down a star for me.
