The other nature wizards wield fire, earth, air, and water to protect the forest.
Only I bring the lightning.
I love protecting our fragile Earth against the supernatural predators that teleport into our world to feed. The monsters can be big and scary (imagine an aquatic panther the size of an elephant) or small and vicious (poisonous beaver crocodiles are no joke), but they all need to go back to their dimension.
And I’m just the goddess-blessed druid to send them packing.
Read the first five stories in this unique not-so-urban An action-packed fantasy series with a slow-burn romance, join Ina and her friends—game warden Vincent Garcia, mentor Guntram, and forger Sipho—on an adventure that explores the secret magic hidden deep within Earth’s untamed wild places.
DM Fike worked in the video game industry for over a decade, starting out as a project manager and eventually becoming a story writer for characters, plots, and missions. Born in Idaho's Magic Valley (you can't make this stuff up), DM Fike lived in Japan teaching English before calling Oregon home. She loves family, fantasy, and food (mostly in that order) and is on the constant look out for new co-op board games to play.

Pretty well written and entertaining. Quite a few repetitions strewn into the books since every book is explaining again what a shepherd is. You get pretty much pulled into Ina's story and feel bad for her mostly due to how other shepherds are treating her, but she does add to her troubles by being a bit rough around the edges.
I would love to see a bit more longer running series with a bit more beefier books ( like Dresden Files ) there is a lot of potential that is still untapped.
Quick moving story that has a different and refreshing twist to the hero and her trials. Yes predictable in parts but still a fun read and satisfying conclusion. I also enjoyed the detailed information on the location having lived and hiked the area.
Great story that draws you in and keeps you guessing. Oh the number of times I wanted to grab Ina by her hoodie and shake her! I will definitely get the rest of the series.
The magic, setting, idea and most everything about the series is good, but the love story between Ina and Vincent is just pure cringe and cliche that the books are unreadable after about 1.75 books in.
I couldn't get to grips with this. Didn't make it past the first fifty pages or so. Too many made-up names of fantastical things for me to remember or understand.
