But but for me, I've wasted time.
On him.
On trying to get over him.
On trying to get my life back together.

I had it all. Once. And then it all fell apart when I met Colton Fitzgerald. He ruined my life. He betrayed me.

But I suppose I deserve what I get, because I'm no innocent in all of this. I cheated on my husband. I fell in love with Colt. And after the fall out, I ran away like a coward, left to lick my wounds and pick the shards of a shattered life.

I know what I've done is unforgivable. My reputation is in ruins. A laughing stock and social pariah amongst Chicago's elite. So when I'm forced to return to the Windy City, it's like going back to Hell. And a little bit of Heaven at the same time.

Because Colt is still there, but untouched by what he's done.

And me?

I'm nothing but damaged goods.
