The Last Suspect

Rate this book
What would you do if the person you trusted the most would turn out to be the biggest suspect?

Brilliant detective and criminal profiler Drew Chase has been summoned to New Orleans to track a serial killer who has cut a swath through the stripper population all down the Mississippi.

Called the Incel Murders by the press, the killings are known for their brutality, sadism and violent nature, as well as the elaborate letters left by the killer “ justifying ” his actions.

Drew, whose own mother was nearly murdered by a serial killer with a similar MO, can’t help but take this one personally and is determined to take the sick bastard down.

But everything changes when his prime suspect is discovered brutally murdered in the same way as his alleged victims .

Caught between increasing pressure to close the case, uncooperative witnesses, local cops who resent his intrusion into their insular world, and the torments of his bloody past, Drew must fight to put the pieces together, even as his mystery killer has apparently gone to ground.

But as the trail dries up and pressure mounts, he soon starts to suspect the worst .

The answer lies in the Hell of Drew’s own past and leads to the last suspect that he would ever expect .

A thrilling psychological thriller that you won't be able to put down!

Ohmigod…this book will literally scare the bejeezus out of you!! Theo Baxter has this insane mind that comes up with the scariest stuff ever! And I absolutely LOVE it! It’s amazing…So don’t fool around and miss it.

There is something about the way Theo turns a phrase or sets a scene. You just don’t want to miss a single word. The storyline was beyond awesome; the characters were so real—and the plot twists and turns were crazy good. You have to remember that The Last Suspect is about a serial killer…so be prepared for gruesome—and more.

Grab your copy today and get ready for one helluva read! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and and absolutely loved it! I do love being scared…)❤️

Interesting storyline, but...

There were more typos, misspellings and improper word usage than one could count. Almost read like English was not the author's first language. Doesn't the publisher have proof readers?

Wow! What a ride! What starts out as a book about a serial killer morphs into a journey through the abyss. But, alas, we are carried out, cleansed and feeling refreshed! This book has a true shocker which is rare. It was an enjoyable read as are all of Theo’s books!

Pretty Good

If you don’t mind jumping back and forth and back and forth in time, you’ll enjoy this. Lots of misspellings and grammar mistakes, so a little aggravating.

Predictable

The book moved at a good enough pace but it was obvious what was going to happen pretty much from the beginning
