“THE GATEWAY” is an all-new tale of terror by Kristopher Triana, author of “Gone to See the River Man” and “Full Brutal”. It is the short story that led him to write his forthcoming novel “The Ivory Dealer”.
A ruthless human trafficker comes face to face with his ultimate prize, but finds himself trapped in a nightmare of his own creation.
Kristopher Triana is the author of Gone to See the River Man, Full Brutal, They All Died Screaming, Shepherd of the Black Sheep, Toxic Love, and more.
His fiction has appeared in countless magazines and anthologies and has been translated into multiple languages, drawing praise from Publisher's Weekly, Cemetery Dance, Rue Morgue, Scream, The Ginger Nuts of Horror and others.
Full Brutal won the Splatterpunk Award for Best Horror Novel of 2019, and Triana won the award again in 2022 for The Night Stockers, which he cowrote with Ryan Harding.
This story could have been better. For me, it is too short. So, the story is incomplete. 4 Stars, because I, usually, like Kristopher Triana’s stories. If I had been objective, I would have rated it 3 stars.
A man with no conscience makes his living through the suffering of others. He’s now in the “Ivory” trade; the killing/selling of albino humans.
He’s about to get his due…
I felt sick thinking about all the horrible things done to people born with albinism in this story (and in the real world). Be warned, this story will make you saddened and angered.
I would definitely read the longer novel inspired by this short story: “The Ivory Dealer” when it comes out (I couldn’t find it online yet).
The Gateway is a short story regarding a man who would kidnap and sell body parts of people who had albinism. Until he meets a woman called The Gateway who showed up unannounced to one of his parties.
This story was bite sized but very good and had a lot to build on! Definitely enjoyed, 4 stars for sure!
