Bad Boys Don’t Fall For Shy Girls

Rate this book
Every shy girl deserves to be heard.

I’m the Shy Girl and I’m obsessed with romance. I dream of having a love story of my own, but guys at school don’t know I exist. Except for the bad boy who just came back from juvie.

Zack Hastings gives off stay-away-from-me-vibes. It’s a little hard to do that when I’m stuck being his lab partner. To distract myself, I daydream about my crush, one of the most popular guys at school.

With encouragement from my friends, I tell my crush how I feel. But when he and his buddies ridicule me, criminal Zack steps in to help.

Then I find out he’s going to live with me. What?

But I soon learn I misjudged him. He’s not the criminal I thought he was. He’s actually really sweet. The kind of guy I’ve always dreamed about. But Zack would never choose an insecure, shy girl like me.

Or would he?

Bad Boys Don’t Fall For Shy Girls is the third book in the Invisible Girls Club, a sweet YA contemporary romance series. If you like invisible girls who snag the boys of their dreams, this book is for you!

This is quite possibly my favourite in the series so far! Ally is the shy girl, so shy that she blends into the background and is basically afraid of her own shadow (and is accused of such by another character in this book!) When “bad boy” Zach is made her new bio partner, she’s terrified of him–because she believes the rumours that spread about him are true (spoiler alert: No, he isn’t a murderer). This book is super cute, and has a touch of angst, just like the first two books in the series. This is a lower-YA read, and it’s clean, with no swearing, smut, or violence. 5 stars!

I usually never write a review for books but I just couldn’t even finish this one. I HATE IT WITH A PASSION. Hated every character in it tbh. The main character and her friends are so judgmental and annoying and freaking cringy. Also, I hated her sister and her mom, and even though I hated the MC, her mom and her sister should respect and love her for who she is. In conclusion, this is one of the worst books I’ve ever read with the worst characters in it.

****Spoilers here and there ***

I couldn’t wait to read this book. Can’t say my review going to be long! But I will say I did want to know the reason why Zack and his brother Zane was in foster care. & learning how he got that scar on this chest.

I did thought that Ally dad was going to keep them but in the end they did ended up in a good home. I do think that Zack should let his foster parents take care of his brother Zane once he do gets eighteen and still be there for his brother regardless.

Plus Ally is also good for him. I felt bad for her when Jared did what he did to her and had everybody laughing at her. It was a good thing that he got what coming to him when that cheerleader dissed him the same way he rejected Ally.

Also I can’t wait until the next book comes out Charlie is the one I really wanted to read. I figured she was trying to ignore the movie with the Alex guy because soon they said they wanted to watch the movie she turned her back on it and acted like the homework was more important.

That was really fun and I really missed reading books like this where I am smiling through the relationship between the two MCs
This time we will follow Ally, she is the shy girl who is afraid to be in the spotlight despite her talents, one day she decides to take a shot to tell her crush that she likes him but he rejects her but she gets to know Zack, the resident bad boy in the school who was rumored that he killed someone .. and he have to live with her in her house with her parents .. what is the truth ? and is he the one she is looking for ?
this kind of story reminds me of some of the classic high school stories like "perfect chemistry" and Sarah Dessen books, the romance is slow burn but their friendship is really cute, I really related to Ally, and fell in love with Zack.. really enjoyable and really recommend it for a fast read

I literally cried during the part where her sister and mom were trying to convince her that she needed to change her outer appearance to find a man. I cried ugly tears. I am a mother. I am 29 and I've have experienced the struggle to measure up to ones ideal beauty. I was literally yelling at the mom in the book LOL.
i am glad the author chose to put it because peer pressure can come anywhere even from our own parents and it is sad.

overall i truly enjoyed the book. If you want to read a book that encourages you to stand up for yourself this is it.

This was so sweet it might give you diabetes :))))
But really, a very good read for the messages it sends to young girls. I really appreciate it.
The story was very clean. Recommend it from ages 12 and up. Only a little kissing, nothing else.
What I loved most about this book was the feel good mood I've had while reading it.
So I'm now very interested in Charlie's book, and how the superstar will get her attention.

SPOILER ALERT! Zack ruined it....

Okay, these two didn't even TALK until over half the book. Was starting to wonder how they'd get together without interacting but....when they did things got cute.
Ally had misjudged Zack and tried to make up for it. His backstory was sad and her family really did their best to help him.
And that's what bugged me later....
After everything she did for him, he broke her heart, pushing her away because he "wasn't good enough". That pisses me off. If your not enough then don't START anything! Don't kiss them and then dump them less than 24 hrs later 😤 He literally ruined everything for her, himself, and even his little brother who really liked Ally. That storyline is SO overplayed and ridiculous. We all know hed get with her, whats the point of hurting her.
And Ally....Ally BEGGED him! She begged him to explain and take her back. I mean....I'm all fighting for love but not like that. I wouldn't beg a boy who so easily pushed me aside. It was different for Easten who had to fight for her by standing up to his parents. It wasn't HIM causing his girl pain smh
So yeah, this was a 2 stars for me after all that unnecessary drama and how Ally made her life about a boy.
I liked the parts about Foster care and social work though. Its an important topic and well done. I wish Zack hadn't done that because this was getting close to a 4 or 5 star before that.

Terrible plus judgmental characters.
Terrible dialogues.
Cringey af couples.

Gross, ridiculous and super lengthy despite the story not moving forward despite of pages worth of reading due to the cringey conversations between the Four Musketeers.

Zach's story was the only slightly saving grace for which the one star holds. Or else this book should be given ZERO stars.

I got swayed by the good reviews, its truly pathetic and I couldn't finish it, its a colossal waste of brain cells.

Bad Boys Don't Fall For Shy Girls by Emma Dalton.
What would you do if your lab partner is a criminal that just got out of juvie for murdering someone? That's what happened to Ally Bensen. Like any of us would, Ally is terrified for her life, and him glaring at her and grunting all the time did not help the situation. The shy girl is pretty sure she is on top of his murder list and was determine to stay away from him as far as possible. She received the biggest shock of her live when she learned that her lab partner is going to be living with her. Under the same roof. Ally thought that she was done for, but the more she spends time with him, the more she questions her fear of him. There's no way that good girl Ally who always have perfect scores is falling for a criminal, is she? And there's no way a bad boy would fall for an invisible girl like her. But with sparks flying in the air, who is to say that they won't end up together?

My Opinion: I want to ride a motorcycle behind a muscular guy at least once in my life!
It started off a bit slower than I liked but the story was easy to follow. The book reminded me of 'Twilight' because of how they met in biology class and Zack glared at her like he wants to kill her. I love the four friends and their friendship. I really think Ally's parents are sweet and they are totally couple goals. I love Zane and I wish I have a brother who is as obsessed with books as much as Zane. Instead I got a brother who wouldn't be caught dead with a book XD. Overall, I think the book is very cute and I can't wait to read the others in the series.
~
Ally Bensen is an interesting character, mostly because I don't relate to her (except the obsessed with romance novels, that I can relate hard XD). She is literally my opposite, while she is shy and introverted, I am extroverted and outgoing. She is a bit tomboy-ish about her looks, and I am very girly. Aside from our differences, I admire her braveness and how bold she is. I love when she is passionate about something, she doesn't give up. I really enjoyed sharing her thoughts and I hope she'll make a cameo appearance in future books.
~
Zack Hastings is so sweet, don't a guy who cares for their younger siblings just melt your heart? I love watching him falling in love for Ally and it's just so cute to see a guy simp (in a good way) for their girl. And don't boys that read makes them 10x more attractive? Especially in these days, boys who reads are rare, so Zack being an active reader makes me love him more. I love how caring and thoughtful he is and he made me swoon a lot!
~
I love this book because: it is interesting, the main characters are wonderful, the side characters makes the story wholesome, and it is beautifully written.

I know I said that some of the characters are very relatable, but to me, I relate to Ally the most. I was a shy girl who loved reading and singing as well. I'm also a short girl. Zack and Ally share a lot of traits, such as putting others before themselves.

My only complaints were that Zack set way too high standards for men (at least, for me he did) and that I wish we had more of his POVs. Okay maybe that his past could have been brought up place by piece instead of all at once. I could go on about Zack all day but I'll spare you.

This story was so adorable and included a lot of clichéd scenes that you would normally find in other romance novels.

This book was such a slow burn and so sweet at the same time. Ally reminded me a lot of myself with how shy and nervous she was especially with her former crush and singing in front of the school in choir and how she rather read her romance novels than deal with human boysand Zack is the typical bad boy who everyone is convinced that he went to juvie for murder which couldn't be further from the truth. I loved how they slowly started talking and hanging out more and how comfortable Zane was with her. This is such an amazing book for young girls to remind them that you don't need to change for a man.

Bad is not always bad.

Zack is back in Edenbury High after having been gone, but nobody knows exactly why he ever left. Yet the rumor mill is busy he was in juvie because he killed someone. Poor Allie as shy as can and afraid of her own shadow can not believe it. A murderer at her high school. As bad luck, has it her and Zack get paired up during biology, or is it good luck?

A cute little high school drama romance that teaches us that we should never judge a book by its cover and believe what others tell us. Learn to make your own judgment and give everyone a fair chance because you never know what you might learn.

adorable young read

Didn’t realize the maturity level of how young we were talking. I’ve read young adult books that seemed more mature I would say. I liked the book. The overly repetitive nature of how amazing the previous books boyfriends are and how overly cute they are together got a little old. Those things I feel could be better exhibited by showing not telling. But that is the audience it’s geared towards. Once the story picks up and ally and zack are becoming friends the repetitiveness lessens and you get more plot driven story. Cute story.

I’m giving 1 star because I’ve read books I hated and I didn’t hate this one. But what in the wattpad is this?

This is so badly written and the plot is literally every wattpad book written by a 14 year old. I know because I read tons like this when I was that age.

Seriously so many grammar mistakes and the characters were so annoying and repetitive.

I didn’t hate the book, don’t get me wrong, I just think it’s an immature plot with immature characters.

Also the ending, WHAT WAS THAT?? It for SURE wasn’t an ending…

I love this book!!!!
Emma Dalton has yet again used her amazing imagination to get me addicted to her books. This book is the most emotional of the all the books I have read so far in this series (even though this is only the 3rd book). I love how Ally keeps fighting for her and Zack's love even though Zack thinks that he doesn't deserve her, it shows just how much Ally cares💕. I love how much Zack cares for his little brother Zane, it makes me wish I had an older brother or better yet an older sibling. I love how Emma keeps everyone in the friend group together and doesn't split them up because they are in relationships, it makes me super happy.
I would 100% recommend this book for anyone who loves unexpected romances!

Laatste gedeelte geskipt.

This series is just so sweet and cute!! I'm so glad that I picked this series up sometimes you just need a sweet cute high school romance. Zack and Ally are just so cute!! They both love reading books!! Ally is a very shy girl but throughout the book she slowly comes out of her shyness because of Zack. While Zack had a hard life and didn't want to bring her down. These two took a lot longer to get together but wow what an end!! I can't wait to read the next book in this series..

This one was a bit of a roller coaster, but it was still good. Interesting to see Foster care children included. These books are often very sappy and a little bit cheesy. “You are the most awesome girlfriend I’ll ever have and you showed me who I am…..” paraphrase loosely
As a short person who is terrified to sing a solo well, was I related with her

There’s no cursing. There’s a lot of bullying in these books less kissing in this one in the previous book.

Made Me Remember Being Shy.

This one kind of hit home for me. I was the shy girl in high school. I had a crush on the bad boy. I have been out of school for 45 years now. This book brought back a lot of memories. It made me feel that angst again. I am no longer the shy girl. I love a book that makes me feel! From a Fan... Pam James

Where bad boys turn out pretty good and shy girls get the gumpton they need.

This is the fourth of these books I’ve read (the numbering system is off, somehow) and although they’re aimed at teenage girls, I have enjoyed them all, even though I’m a 71 year old man (who still is part of book clubs and is addicted to Hallmark movie romances).

This book started off slow.It started with Ally's shyness and all the things that she wanted to do but was painfully shy.Her books and her friends are her comfort zone. The plot continues and after Ally meets a boy who has a troubled past, she begins to open up more.In the end Ally does conquer her fears thanks to Zack and his little brother Zane. Great book and so far a great series.
