The book takes readers through a series of everyday emotions that young children may feel. On each page, a different child feels a specific emotion. It is illustrated and exampled how they feel in a simple sentence written in English and Spanish. The book does not follow a narrative storyline with characters or plot. Instead, it’s a sequence of emotional feelings with each one named and illustrated. This is a good book to teach kids that are bilingual.

Just the right size for little hands and short attention spans. Illustrations support the text well.

Socially and emotionally, children between 12-24 months are beginning to assert some independence from their caregivers. Explorations in behavior (wants/needs) and self-control are influenced by the child’s self-awareness of feelings. How Do I Feel? =: Cómo Me Siento? is suitable for this age group in that it supports the child’s vocabulary and narrative skills by through the engagement of reading and talking. As the child listens to the story, new vocabulary about feelings are given and the child learns how to identify and describe their own feelings by communicating verbally with the caregiver.
