Sherlock Holmes has been found out.The bitter harvest of addiction has poured out upon Sherlock Holmes. His old nemesis opium addiction has come home to roost.
And his beautiful love, Shariel queen of the Under lands, is mystically tied to his fevered withdrawals. In her case pain shared is not halved ...it is death.
But it gets worse, Dr Thomas Jekyll's monstrous other personality, is loose in London, and offers Holmes access to the most addictive drug every concocted… the Jekyll elixir. Any other time Holmes would not be tempted, only this is not any other time. If he does not take the elixir he will not have the power to save those he loves, but if he does he will lose them anyway. In the second story
Holmes Associates, the girls Marie Spurgeon and Johnnie Alparts have been enthralled. They have abandoned the love of their lives, and stepped back into the darkness they had just escaped. Their men come after them but the girls don’t want to come home. They have given themselves over to the demonic ... but when one husband is a monster and the other a special forces soldier you can guarantee... there will be a reckoning.
The overall story is good, and I loved the combination of Sherlock and other literary figures. The faith discussed is great. The one downside is the use of profanity. Allusion to it is one thing, but the Bible clearly forbids profanity, even in a story. The language could be easily cleaned up and the story would be that much better. I hope there will be other installments to this series.
