It's a must read.
A splendid book that holds the curiosity of the user from beginning to end. The ending feels like I am reading a chapter of Bhagwat Gita. Nilotpal Mrinal has mixed political satire with magic and mythology very well.
andaz-e- byaan achaa hai per kahaani aakhir mein bhikarti nazar aayi. modernity ka gaon mein ghuspaith achi ban payi . I think his best is yet to come. he has enormous potential. best wishes
This book delivers a village story the way Niloptal ji would, the whole village spills its secrets in its own tongue. Each villager stays exactly who they’ve always been, sharing only what makes them, them. Their traditions and little quirks shine on every page!
You’ll flip pages fast for the same reason you open the fridge and hope something nice is there, you need that one more taste. The ending looms, unsaid hints flash like drunk fireflies. If it lands where your heart has been aiming, congratulations, your book shelf just grew an heir!
“Yaar Jadugar” combines magic realism with real life elements, creating a mysterious atmosphere. The story explores the intricacies of human relationships, especially friendships, showcasing the strength of camaraderie and loyalty. The book also explores deeper themes like life, death, and the meaning of existence, adding richness to the story!
You won’t need a translator, the village tongue is light and never pretentious. Flip-flopped mysteries and careful, slip-in thrills. When the last page nudges you to feel the world and the next village that world might lift into the morning mist, the story feels like a whole new lens. It is, without contest, a keeper!
I just finished a story that feels ageless. From the first page, the suspense pulled me right in, almost like I was standing in the shadow, watching everything unfold. The conversations at the tea stall buzzed with everyday life, and the back-and-forth between the cops felt so real that I could almost hear the paper-and-ink of the case files flicking open and closed. I ended up sitting down and finishing the whole book in a single night; I couldn’t stop. I can honestly say this book deserves a spot on every book lover’s shelf!
Have you watched Alejandro Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain? I had a deja vu after finishing this book. The story and narration are so good that even though mysterious things are happening, there is almost no loophole to kill the suspense or bring the thrill even slightly down. The story grips you completely and it is almost impossible to put the book down before finishing it. Even when you are not reading it, the story occupies your mind and you keep thinking what will happen next and how it will end. The beginning and the journey till end are so top notch that you get this feel that the end will inevitably be a downer or a mixed experience at best. And if the end delivers, you know you have read maybe one of the best books ever. Well, I will only say that the end feels rushed and definitely could be better.
Highly recommended for the journey the book takes you on, even if the end is not as solved as the above quote claims.
Nilotpal Mrinal has been my favorite author since I read Aughad. His raw style of writing is different and very engaging. This book was no exception, loved it. Must read for every Hindi literature fan.
For that one mystery I read the whole book. I would say in a long time I have liked a hindi book, usually I am very harsh on Hindi books, cause nobody writes anything deep or memorable anymore, everyone wants to be Chetan Bhagat. Book is fairly average, plot is just a device to catapult writer's own bias and allows him to take political shots which is ok I guess but it's there.
