So I decided to read this when I did because I had jury duty and lots of down time. On the plus side, this was a quick read and a nice way to spend my breaks. Occasionally fun, but there are some things that I had issues with that brought down my overall enjoyment.

While I enjoy hidden identity and a heroine getting the orgasms she needs and deserves, the writing is verbose and took me out of the story. I also couldn't stand the heroine: she's immature, the second hand embarrassment I was feeling was off the charts, and I'm not a fan of her demeanor. The daydream about the cashier? Hard pass for me. Then there's her inner dialogue her first night at the club. I understand social anxiety, but Laney complained about how no one came up to her to talk her up and immediately decided to leave after finishing her drink. You paid $8000 for the first three months of your membership to this club! This is not the place to be a wallflower. ESPECIALLY if you're looking for a change.

Then there's the "BDSM" mentioned in this. I think what Laney and Alex dabble in together is on the mild side of things so it's not too concerning (blindfolding, nipple clamps, butt plug). Alex does take it upon himself to bring in two Doms for Laney one night--without talking to her about it prior, mind you--and that's just so many red flags. Also, I was picking up an undercurrent of judgment of some BDSM practices, which I didn't appreciate. I am aware that this is the author's first erotica/romance, and I think it was a decent try into the genre, but some more research could've been done.

You can tell who Alex really is from the start. I didn't mind that it was a bit obvious, I thought their relationship was pretty cute, but the ending is incredibly rushed and didn't feel satisfying at all.

My favorite parts of this is how sweet Alex is, and some of the smut scenes, but overall this missed the mark for me. This could work for those who are fans of mom-rom though.

Thank you Netgalley and Angie Martin for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Laney is having no luck dating someone interesting and hasn’t had sex in over a year. Her co-worker and BFF are trolling to find her a match, but it took signing up to a private sex club to find what she’d been looking for all along.

This was a spicy BDSM romance with all the titillating nuances. The hook ups and feelings attached to someone she couldn’t see were well described and made for an entertaining read.

I didn't really get into this book for a number of reasons. A big one was that any time spent out of the club was exceedingly boring. Laney at work, Laney at home, Laney with her best friend (who I absolutely could not stand). I also took issue with the fact that as soon as Laney gets laid for the first time in over a year her whole life becomes better. Every hot guy at work is suddenly hitting on her, more people are noticing her, and some off handed comment she made at some point has made her catch the eye of the higher ups and she's now got a chance for a big promotion. It was all so very eye roll inducing. Then there's the fact that this is labeled BDSM. I would never label it as such. Another reviewer said that this was the author's first time into this genre and said maybe more research could have been done. And I agree. What Laney and Alex did together was so mild that I wouldn't call it anything more than playing with toys. But then the author goes way way WAY over to the other extreme with a video that is more torture than anything else and two "doms" that are more sadist than dom. Granted, my knowledge comes mostly from other books, but my understanding is that the dom treasures his sub and won't push her too far or cause her undue distress. They are seeking pleasure for both. These guys were trying to hurt Laney and didn't care how they used her to get off. Made worse by Laney completely forgetting she had a safe word. Major facepalm moment.

I don't think the storyline here is anything too original, I'm not saying it was bad, but it was pretty meh for me. Especially because it was really easy to figure out who Alex was. Laney broke up with her boyfriend for cheating on her (again) over a year ago and her best friend relentlessly makes fun of her for being single and not getting any sex. The two of them end up going to this super upscale sex club where their membership fees are almost more than I even make a month. I mean, it's obscene. It really is. First night there, Laney is about to go home when she's approached by a guy and offered a good time. If she wears a blindfold. From that moment on she feels a connection to this mystery man and trusts him completely despite not knowing him. As the days turn into weeks, she finds herself falling for him more and more. There's the drama of Laney knowing it's supposed to be just sex and her going out on real dates again, but at this point she only wants Alex. Then one night he lets something slip without even realizing it and Laney panics because she now realizes that she works with him. She's on a mission for figure out who it is, but goes about it kind of stupidly. When he finally shows her who he is, she freaks out again and then avoids him. This girl is truly such a mess. But they make up, cancel their insane memberships, and live happily ever after. Probably.

The one thing that bugged me with Alex was when he brought in those two other guys. Laney had mentioned once that she might like to have two guys at the same time, so he thought he was making her fantasy come true. So okay, maybe you could give him a pass on not asking Laney first. But one would think that he would have done more research on the guys that he was bringing to their bed. Because he so clearly did NOT have any clue how cruel and harsh these two were going to be to her. And that, more than anything, is harder to forgive.

I FLEW through this book in a couple of hours!

Laney is a girl that swore off men after being cheated on twice by her ex. Becca is her best friend who swoops in to pull her out of her misery, registering them to a super secret sex club. On her first night there, Laney meets Alex…or better yet half-meets him because his only request was for her to wear a blindfold at all times.

What I liked:
- The Club: it was very well thought out and brought to light some problems you might think about, such as safety and health issues, accidental pregnancies or psychos that might follow you outside the club
- How the whole idea of BDSM was handled: both Laney and Alex are beginners in the BDSM world and they experiment with each other, they take it slow and see what’s comfortable for them. More often than not you see one dom and one inexperienced sub that magically aligns with every dom’s kinks

What I didn’t like:
- The secret identity: it’s a pet peeve of mine but I don’t like relationships that start off with concealed identities of one or both parties. I believe it sets the foundations on lies and I don’t feel like coming off clean later erases the misleading
- The ending: it was rushed and patched over too quickly. The identity was clear from the start and if you combine it with my dislike of secret identity I would’ve liked at least some groveling. But again this is not plot with smut, it’s smut with a dash of plot so I can’t expect it to have a full storyline.
- The idea that when you have sex everything starts aligning for you. After breaking a year-long dry spell, Laney starts getting opportunities at her job and her “Fab Four” (office guys she’d like to 🔩) start noticing her and flirting. I’d like to think not every good thing in our lives revolves around us boning.

Overall it was a good read and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a quick, educative novel about seeing with your other senses.

Room 237 is a story about human perception, it’s a story about first impressions and how a detail can change your whole awareness.

Laney has been disappointed by her last relationship, not ready to jump back in she stayed single for as long as her best friend basically let her.
She didn’t swore off men, she just didn’t know how to approach trusting again.
When Becca practically drags her to The Club she’s not really sure about it.
There she meets a man she doesn’t lay eyes on but inspires in her enough curiosity to let herself try.
His only demand ? Always wear a blindfold.
Their chemistry is instant and you’re sucked into the book quite easily as you get as curious as Laney about her mysterious date.
The more they meet, the closer they grow…
Now Laney is faced with choices.
Can she trust her feelings about that man she never saw ?
Can she handle not knowing who he is ?
Can she handle discovering his identity ?
Are what they share in that room 237 enough to survive exposure to the real world ?

As sexy as the book is it’s also a story about self confidence and your perception of others. Had they met any other way would they have matched ? If Laney had seen him that first night would she have gone up to that room ?
Room 237 is a romance about who we are at our core, about attraction being more than skin deep. About us all being more than meets the eyes.

My only negative remark there isn’t even going to be about story it’s gonna be about the layout. I personally strongly prefer dialogues to be separated from the rest of the writing. Having dialogues a little bit everywhere makes it a lot more dense and less fluid. That my personal opinion and in no way takes away from the book :)

Many thanks to the publisher and to NetGalley for providing me a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This read is an easy 5-star, I'll buy it upon its release. It’s spicy, it’s kinky and it has a lovable backstory with two lovable characters. Highly recommended for erotica lovers who love a little bit of romance as well.
Even though it was quite predictable, I was happy with how the story turned out to be, probably because I was rooting for Laney so much with her personal journey.

I just loved the suspense, Laney being committed to discover the identity of this awesome stranger was incredibly well written. I was equally nervous to find out what’s going on and rooting for her so excitedly. It was hard to put down this story to be honest, I just wanted to discover more and more.
Laney’s journey has been nicely built up and it was as much about self-discovery as about curiosity in (bdsm) sex. I think the natural connection or click between our heros from the very first moment was a really nice touch from the author, I appreciated it a lot.

It wasn’t a heartless erotica, it had feelings. It wasn’t just about sex, it was also about pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone in the hope of self-development.
I’ve found Alex’s backstory adorable because there are so many people who are nervous when it comes to emotions and feelings and everyone has a different baggage from their past that can cause such shyness. This erotica book definitely worths its money if you long to read about the fantastic contradicting duality of bdsm and being a shy person.
Too bad I don't really like the cover, something more subtle would have been much better in my opinion. It's a bit too shallow for my taste.

Room 237 by Angie Martin

Erotic fantasy that explores some ‘what-ifs’ and provides a happy ending for more than one person in the story.

What I liked:
* Laney: working woman, in a dating dry spell, decides to step outside her comfort zone, learns a lot about herself and her desires at The Club
* Alex: man Laney meets at the club, wants to please and take care of Laney, provides what he believes she needs, intriguing
* The Fab Four: four men that Laney has considered potential men to date at work but has never dated any of them at the beginning of the story
* Becca: Laney’s friend, confidant, and the person who talks Laney into joining The Club
* The idea of the club and the safeguards it provided
* Watching Laney experience some of her fantasies and thinking about how sometimes reality doesn’t live up to the fantasy
* The idea of masks and not being able to see who you are with
* Thinking about intercourse with and without emotional involvement…and if emotions link to the partner over time
* The conclusion and finding out the identity of Alex

What I didn’t like:
* The emotional impact cheating in relationships has on the partner cheated on…more than one in this story experienced it and the emotional aftermath

I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a neat little twist on traditional BDSM romance books. Laney, the FMC, is in a dating slump after breaking up with her cheating ex a year ago. Desperate to get back in the dating game but not sure how Laney's friend suggests they become members of The Club, an exclusive, members only sex club. On her first night in the club Laney meets the mysterious Alex, who asks her to join him in room 237 without her ever seeing him. While in the room Laney must where a blindfold, never getting to see what Alex looks like, but that doesn't take away from the fun.

Overall, I did like this book. It was a quick fun read and filled with spicy scenes. I did feel like some of the story line was a bit jaggy and all over the place, and the twist at the end of the book I saw coming from a mile away. The passion between Laney and Alex was there but I wish there was just a little more tension or drama in their relationship. Honestly, I think this book could have benefitted from being a bit longer in order to lay more groundwork for the characters and insert a little more dramatic tension. I would recommend for a quick spicy read if you aren't looking for something heavy on plot.

Not recommended for those that don't like: BDSM, MMF, Insta lust/love

Big thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I really enjoyed this one! In this story Laney is cheated on by her boyfriend and ends up single and without sex for a whole year! Her BFF decides it's time to take drastic measures and so they end up joining a sex club. Night one a mystery man sneaks up behind her, face unseen and invites her to a room. The catch? She can't turn around to see him and she has to wear a blindfold before she enters the room and the whole time she is in the room. And so we go for weeks and weeks. For a while it doesn't matter who is behind the mask and Laney goes with the flow. There is curiosity on occasion but nothing she doesn't overcome. She just trusts him...until one night he slips up and says something that only someone from her work would know. Now she HAS to find out, she goes on an unsuccessful quest to discover his identity. Finally landing on having the BFF she joined with sneak a picture. Of course BFF has success but now Laney can't bring herself to look. Lucky for her Alex is also over the mystery and he shows himself. Everyone freaks out. Etc etc and then HEA.

Did I guess who Alex really was? Yes, it wasn't hard.

Was the story super enjoyable? Yes, it definitely was.

5 stars on the story and I'll give it 3 spicy 🌶. This is a quickish read and I recommend it absolutely.

Whew. I wasn’t ready. 😳🔥
Angie Martin just took the classic "stranger encounter" trope, blindfolded it, added a wicked sense of humor, and turned it into a ride I never wanted to get off.

Laney is instantly relatable, the kind of woman you want to grab coffee (and maybe a fire extinguisher) with, because wow, her story heats up fast. But what I loved most is that this wasn’t just about the steam (though, let’s be real, it delivered there too). It’s about confidence, vulnerability, and what happens when you step outside your comfort zone, blindfolded.

Alex? Mysterious. Magnetic. Impossible not to obsess over. The chemistry between them builds beautifully, and every chapter had me flipping pages like a madwoman just to see when the blindfold would finally come off.

If you're into erotic romance that actually says something, about trust, self-discovery, and connection, this one’s for you. Angie Martin knows how to write heat, yes, but she also knows how to write heart.

Brava. More, please. 😍

I have just finished reading this book. It was absolutely amazing I loved it. Was hooked could not put it down. First time reading this author’s work I highly recommend reading it if You haven’t all ready read It you won’t be disappointed.
You are first introduced to Lainey and her best friend becca. After Lainey is cheated she ends up going for a dry spell plus finds not much luck on blind dates. Her friend Becca gets her to agree to try something completely different.she falls down the rabbit hole of naughtiness. While they are both hesitant to give this new pkk look place A try they do.
It has everything you could ever want in a book. I found it just easily flowed as you were reading if you could picture what you were reading as it was happening. Guarantee to have you laughing out loud at many parts. I give it 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and Angie Martin for this eARC. I am leaving this honest review willingly.

Laney is your average woman in the city. She’s been heartbroken and hasn’t quite gotten her groove back since her ex cheated on her. All her friend Becca wants to do is help her break out of this morbid shell and get back in to the world of dating (and spicy time).

Laney and Becca join “The Club”. An exclusive hook up club that costs a boat load but for good reason. Here Laney meets a mysterious man who helps her live out some of her fantasies. But is he as mysterious as he lets on? Will Laney still want to see him after she truly sees him?

This book is a nice quick read. It’s somewhat predictable and the spice can have its weirdly realistic cringe moments but it’s worth a read if you like the genre!

Angie. Martin does a great job of drawing you into the story. Laney hasn't been with a man for over a year after her boyfriend cheats on her. She and her best friend decide to join a sex club where on her first night there she is invited to blindly join a man in Room 237. Laney takes a chance and all kinds of amazing spiciness ensues. Their meetings continue but Laney is to stay blindfolded the entire time.
Laney tries to figure out who her mystery lover is after a few clues are accidently given during one of their meetings. Did I figure out who it was earlier than maybe was intended? Yes. Did it ruin the book for me? Absolutely not! Alex was amazing, giving Laney everything she was missing and more. Their connection was great to see develop and once the reveal occurs it was so good. I would definitely read more from this author.

rating: 3 ⭐️

We follow Laney who tries to get back into the smexy world after a year-long dry spell post-breakup. now introducing: The Club, a space to meet and have a good sexy time. Laney gets a mysterious rendez-vous into room 237 with an unknown man. The twist? She has to wear a blindfold at all times when inside room 237.

Overall it was fun and had good spice. The mystery of not knowing who "Alex" was and trying to figure it out was fun, even though it was quite predictable. Would've loved a bit of detail on our side character Becca, girly deserves a good time. I wouldn't call this book a BDSM erotica, we had one scene where it really got into the BDSM side of things but then it was just spicy vanilla sessions.

I mean I don't really know what to say about this one. It wasn't really my favorite. I honestly think I finished it just because it was a shorter read. I was not a fan of Laney she spends most of the book contradicting herself and just being all around annoying. I think the plot really suffered in this one... in like it didn't exist and when it tried it felt rushed or didn't mesh together well. The whole premise had lots of potential I think but the execution just fell a bit flat for me. I struggled to stay interested in the story and it's pretty obvious almost from the beginning, based on the way the writing is done, who Alex is. In an attempt to be a comedy as well the book really creates ridiculous scenarios to place the characters in. A lot of the book felt a bit cringe to me. I feel like 3 stars is a bit generous to be honest.

I absolutely flew through this book, in a matter of days I was obsessed with the concept of it and how Laney really has to learn to trust the man in room 237. Alex is the complete opposite of Laney's ex and his only rule is to wear the blindfold at all times when they're in the room together. This book really had me rooting for the two of them to at least end up together and overcome their hurdles.

The ending came on rather quickly and I was hoping that it would go a little longer because I did feel like I needed more time with Laney and Alex. I am definitely a selfish reader in wanting more content from the two of them because their passion is off the charts and their chemistry was sickeningly sweet.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

quick read

First and foremost this is a book about BDSM-if you didn’t catch that it in the title. That is it. 100% smutty book. If you’re not into reading that kind of stuff, just go ahead and pass on this one.

This was a quick read. I loved the writing style. I love a book that I can just sit down and read and not just be completely bored from things that really don’t belong in the story.

I personally need more plot in a book. I love me smutty book do not get me wrong. And the spice level in this book was great! But I needed just needed more. I just found it way to predictable. But I kept reading hoping I was wrong, hoping there would be that magical twist.

A pleasant fairly quick read with a pair of believable engaging main characters. The setup of The Club seemed a bit contrived and the membership fees were astronomic for all but the very rich and this didn't seem to cover either of the main characters. We had an explanation for Laney but none for Alex who has a fairly mundane job.

This title states that the book is an erotic BDSM comedy and while it is certainly erotic, the BDSM elements are limited and while there are light humorous moments I don't think this can really be labelled as a comedy.

I enjoyed the book and will look for others by this author.

"Have you ever felt a connection with someone but nothing ever happens?". These words Angie writes hit me deep and hard. This book was not what I expected. It is definitely a book I would reread. The story was one that took my breath away, one I got lost in. One I imagined myself being the main character Laney. This book had it all, humor, romance, erotica, and then the happily ever after. Thanks for an amazing story. I am so glad I was introduced to this book. I look forward to reading other works by this author.

Spoiler Alert…While I enjoyed parts of this book, I thought that Laney and Becca acted like two immature teenagers when it came to sex. I thought the whole blindfold went way too far and for two individuals who know nothing about Bdsm, what Alex did was almost downright dangerous in my opinion..especially since Alex had to remind her of the safe word. Then to give someone a collar for a Master you don’t even recognize in person is a little weird in my opinion. This book was just not for me. I had received an advanced copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

After being cheated on by her boyfriend, Laney is going through a dry spell. It's been over a year and her best friend is not having it. So she signs them up for a sure thing. She finds she is falling head over heels for the man she gets, but she hasn’t seen him. She has been blindfolded each time. Until he lets something slip she figures a part out of who it could be. But does she choose wrong? I really loved this book.

Finished in one sitting! This was a quick and spicy read! Even though I guessed what was happening in the very beginning, I still really enjoyed it. I would’ve liked to read more about Laney and Alex’s relationship, and also see where her friend Becca’s story went. Overall a good & fun read!

I didn’t enjoy this one unfortunately. The writing felt stiff and a lot of the dialogue was awkward. I guessed exactly who the love interest would be the first time he was mentioned and it was extremely obvious through the entire book. I feel like it really took away from the experience. I really wanted to like this. There was also a scene with two other dudes that gave me anxiety the whole time and made me very uncomfortable. Just wasn’t my cup of tea, personally.

I love a good smutty book and all the hidden identity trope.
However, this was a hard no for me.
The FMC behaved like a horney teenager all the time!!!!
It was so annoying. There’s a scene where she’s in the grocery store and she’s mind fucking the cashier( that made me a bit uncomfortable)
The spicy scenes while in The room where okay( the only thing I enjoyed of this book).

Enjoyable read

Even though I figured out who’s who early on, I enjoyed reading this book. It’s more of a romance with hot sex and only a dribble of BDSM. If you are looking for hardcore BDSM erotic read, you may be disappointed. I really enjoyed reading it and will look into other books by this author.

I would LOVE to see Room 237 at The Club!!! Laney slowly finds herself again and builds her confidence inside and outside of the bedroom. It’s all thanks to Alex!!! While the blindfolded is on and hers and Alex’s relationship builds they both seem to start becoming a little too attached. I do wish we got to read Alex’s point of view during the entire book!
