It's teetering between that filthy erotica genre and gore dark romance shit, which if you know me, I have a special spot for.
I just wished it to be longer but since this is the author's debut work, I think I can let it slide. Basically, it's about a crazy guy who's obsessed of his twin's girlfriend who's a dancer. And BAM, the first chapter will already make you squirm.

This book is dark and deliciously wrong. Rax is dangerous and menacing. He’s obsessed with his brother’s girlfriend and takes obsession to a whole new height. Lucy is innocent and trusting, desperate for love. She sees the good in everyone. There are a lot of traumatic events and betrayal that happens to Lucy in this book. This story has a good plot, great characters and a whole lot of smutty times. Rax is a great read that I just couldn’t put down and ends on a cliffhanger that keeps me wanting so much more of my new favourite psycho, Rax!

Aidyn Rose has a gift. I don't recall ever reading an antihero MC who jumps from the page so well-formed and magnetic. I couldn't help but fall for him completely, wanting him to employ all of his dark and twisty thoughts to protect tender Lucy. This girl. Rax is going to be in quite the scrape when Lucy catches on. I couldn't believe how much plot and spice this novella delivered!
As a side note, be sure you're ready for a dark and steamy read before you jump in.

Rax is obsessed with his Precious, Lucy, currently his twin’s girlfriend, but now he intends to take her as his own…disguised as his brother. He uses some unconventional, well, inappropriate, persuasive means, delivered in sexual attraction and spicy events. Rax is unhinged, and it’s fun to read his psychotic interplay in action. Lucy is a naive, dedicated girlfriend. A good person with an arising dark side, but unaware of the subtle changes occurring around her to acknowledge that things are not as they seem.
The premise of this story was so good, even some great dark humor. Its execution, unfortunately, caused the story to falter: Lots of telling, lots of inner monologue. And besides the inordinate detail — even action, every step was described — the formatting was very “heavy.” Very long paragraphs of text. And when you add these to little dialogue, they just made the story an arduous read.
To be clear, I liked the characters, enjoyed the plot, but I had difficulty maintaining attention due to the heavy detail and often expository style of writing. I will still read book two as, indeed, the story was intriguing, not to mention hot! I may have to skip over some of the extraneous detail.

Holy hotness this book marked my boxes, psycho, murder, blindfolds, kinky af and RAX is such a bad boy for what he does to Lucy. I needed this book and cannot wait to see what happenes in book 2. I know my girl Lucy is going to be a little dark and psycho also yep she definitely has that hiding inside her. If you have triggers then make sure you read the warnings because this book absolutely has a few.

Rax is the psycho of your dreams! This story is raw and sexy with an amazing ending! Rax is possessive, aggressive, and incredibly loving if you’re a certain special someone. Lucy is a bit naive and a gentle, kind soul. Her transformation throughout this book will blow you away, and the chemistry between Lucy and Rax is going to melt your kindle! With that being said, heed the trigger warnings before diving in because this book is dark but so delicious. I seriously can’t wait for book two in this duet! What an amazing debut for Aidyn Rose!

The book is written in dual POV, which I always love as you get to see into both the characters minds.
For me personally, there were a bit too many sex scenes when I could’ve used some more plot or character development/getting to know the characters. But if you like really high steam levels, this book is perfect for you.
It was a quick but enjoyable read and I’m excited for book number two!

Aidyn Rose’s first book in her psychotic duet has not only twists and turns to the story but twisted characters. The author takes you on a wild emotional ride that makes your mind spin out of control. Two identical twin brothers named Andrew and Rax. One woman named Lucy. Andrew and Lucy are dance partners as well as lovers. Rax has been obsessed with Lucy for two years and sees her passion needs to be released and only he can do that. The storyline in this book is so riveting I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!

Great debut!
Aidyn Rose's debut novel is one to add to your TBR!
Rax is 🔥🔥🔥, a man after my own heart. I'm sure there will be a flurry of women claiming him!
Lucy is just so...innocent. Poor girl has been through the wringer (can Rax just please kill A already??) but starts to show her strength at the end. I have a feeling that she'll be a great match for Rax by the end of this duet.
It does leave you on a cliffy, and I'm looking forward to more when the duet finishes.

I was lucky enough to beta read Rax so, by the time I read the final version, I’d already read the book twice. From the moment I read the first chapter I knew I was reading something special and it only got better with each revision.
I think the best place to start is with Rax himself. The guy is fruit loops. Absolutely, certifiably insane. He’s come up with a crazy plan to steal his twin brother’s girlfriend, without any indication from her that there’s interest, and he actually thinks it’s a good idea to go through with it. He’s also got a slight issue with his psycho side, which comes out to play when he has blackouts triggered by times of intense emotion. Let’s just say that psycho Rax has an ingenious mind for torture. You need to read those ideas to believe them! Rax’s possessive brand of obsession is intoxicating. Aidyn Rose has taken all those toxic character traits that dark romance addicts live for, she’s hyped them up and bundled them into a single character and left us with sex on legs.
I must admit that I wasn’t quite so enamoured with Lucy. She’s incredibly naïve when it comes to her relationship with Andrew (Rax’s twin), preferring to believe that she’s living a happily ever after than noticing the glaringly obvious signs that things aren’t right. She chooses to see the best in people and their actions where a little scepticism would go a long way to seeing things for what they really are. She’s willing to put up with a hell of a lot of toxic behaviour from Andrew because she desperately wants the kind of love her parents have.
Our protagonists don’t stay the same throughout the book. Even if the story only takes place over the course of a month, there’s plenty of time for development. Who would’ve thought that Rax could discover a sweeter side or that Lucy would grow a backbone?
The first chapter of the book is available to preview on Amazon, and it certainly sets the tone for the following pages. The steam levels in this one are off the charts. Then there’s that explosive ending. Not that you can call it an ending – it’s more like the last quarter of the book. Talk about leaving your readers with a killer cliffhanger!
My only complaint about the book was that it was too damn short. I need me some more Rax. 123 pages were just not enough for this insatiably greedy woman. I’m on tenterhooks waiting for Lucy, the second half of the duet, and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be phenomenal.

Talk about a way to debut!!! Aiden Rose did not disappoint. If you’re looking for a dark twisted and violent read look no further. Please check the authors note at the beginning. This novella may not be for everyone!

This was a very interesting read. It's dark and steamy. Rax is dark and growly and completely psycho. Lucy seems sweet and a bit naive but she's definitely hiding some dirty girl and I can see her being a perfect match for Rax. I did feel some parts were a little predictable but they were necessary for the route the story is taking. I can't wait for the second part because I'm beyond curious how Lucy's character will evolve. And Rax is absolutely going to bring his A game to the party.

Wow!!! Aidyn Rose you absolutely have gained a stalker lol. Rax is by far the best book I've read this year and I have read alot. The sweet and innocent Lucy and Rax, the psychopath, have an interesting relationship to say the least. The storyline, the emotions and the love scenes are incredible! Can't wait to see where you take their story next!!
