Mayra De Gracia is an international bestselling romance author and entertainment journalist from Panama. She fell in love with books at a very young age, and as a teenager, writing became her true calling. She released her first contemporary romantic comedy at the age of twenty-one.
When she’s not writing or reading, Mayra is probably adding songs to a playlist, finding a new show to watch, fangirling over a boyband, or buying concert tickets. She lives in Panama City with her family.
In 2025, she was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the category of Science, Education, and Creative Industries, recognized as one of the most influential young talents in Central America.

People sometimes don’t take others seriously when they talk about the love they have for their favourite artists. But I get them.
We went from friends (who were almost like brothers) to bandmates. Then from bandmates we turned to rivals. And finally, from rivals to strangers.
I admire the determination and fascination female fans have for us. It is the same as when men are screaming in front of the TV during a football game. People call women hysterical, and I hate that term.
Why should I be the one who suffers just because they want to sell more records? Why must I be the one who deals with the consequences of his actions?
“Don’t you dare talk about her!” Preston strikes his chin. “Don’t you dare touch or think about her again or I will rip your arm and shove it up your ass! You worthless dick.”
“And you took my heart years ago and never gave it back.” He whispers and my throat closes. “It’s not my fault I can only write songs about you.”
Victoria studied and I did music and won awards. Both of our lives turned out great. Both are valid. Both are fine.
“You realising you fucked up is the first step. Owning up to your errors and actually changing is the second one.”
Why do people feel entitled to judge your life? How is that okay? My life is mine. I can choose the path I think is best for me. If I decide or not to get married, it’s my choice. If I decide to have children or not, it’s my choice. Mine and absolutely mine.
“Parents should let their children make mistakes, so they learn. But forcing things that aren’t up to them to decide ruins everything.”
“You should’ve forgotten me from the beginning. You should’ve let me go when we were kids. It would’ve been easier for everyone.”
“You’re impossible to forget. Believe me, I’ve tried.”
“I can’t believe you! Don’t you understand?”
“And don’t you understand I’m dying without you?”
“My world always revolved around your memory. My world now revolves around you.”
