Colorado Ranch #1
Coming Home
Kerry
I worked hard running the Granite Ranch, and it should have been left to me and not Mr. Barns’ wayward Hollywood son after he died. Tyler is coming home to decide what the wants to do with the land: sell to me or keep it. There is no choice for him but to give me what is rightfully mine. After I reintroduce the Pampered Prince to ranch life again, he will give it up in a hurry and go back to LA where he belongs.
Tyler
I lost my father and the chance to keep rebuilding our fractured relationship that I had broken when I left to go to Hollywood. Now I am coming home to see my dad’s ranch and to decide what I want to do with it. Kerry, the housekeeper’s little girl that I used to call the Brat, is not happy that I am on my way to Parshall or that the Granite Ranch belongs to me. I ran away from it to become a Hollywood star, but this time I will reacquaint myself with the land and the woman that Kerry has become.
Interracial Romance love story with HEA. Some strong language and love scenes.

A.R. Williams
27 books102 followersI love writing and bringing characters to life. I would get ideas for plots or themes for novels by watching TV or seeing an interaction on the street during one of my walks. I have so many ideas that I don't think I will ever be at a loss for a new book to write lol.
Reading romance is one of my favorite pastimes, next to horror books. Love me some Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
Maybe one day I will write in that genre too. Or combine the two......
**Do not diminish an authors hard work by trying to tank her by saying her book is AI. The amount of time I sit down to write everyday to the point I am now having issues with my kidney is not a joke. If you don’t like my work that is fine, if you want to point out things I can work on that is good too. But people messing with authors to get them to quit or lose revenue is appalling. I am not going anywhere..

"Coming Home" was the first story I've read by A.R. Williams. If there were half stars, I'd give it a strong 3.5 stars instead of just 3. I enjoyed the characters, the settings, and the way the storyline developed. Kerry had to grow on me in the beginning.
I enjoyed that Kerry was a rancher. She was beautiful but basic. She did not need the glitz and glamour that Tyler had to offer as a celebrity. She wanted no parts of that life. She was well respected in her profession and made a difference in the lives of individuals on the ranch she worked.
Tyler seemed conflicted about being a celebrity. He was being type-casted. He wanted to step out of the limelight and go behind the scene. He found himself instantly attracted to Kerry upon returning to the ranch.
Kerry and Tyler were fun and loving together. They appeared to work well together. However, often they
I'm not a fan of cliffhangers. This story kinda ends in a cliffhanger and kinda doesn't. The epilogue is the gateway to book #2.
Overall, I enjoyed Kerry and Tyler's story. There were some pretty hot moments between the two and they got their HEA. I would recommend this story to my reading friends.

Kerry and Tyler, Selena and Calum?, Paul and Anna
Great read but I hate cliffhangers. To me, the reader, the question of who Vera is and if Bob is really working for her?; is Selena really her niece trying to get info for Vera and hurting Calum?; although Kerry and Tyler are planning their wedding, when will it be? I will admit there was excitement, humor, conflict, love which are all the elements necessary to keep a reader interested. I’m definitely interested and waiting on Book 2.

Fantastic
WOW I really enjoyed this book and it easily stole my heart. There's a powerful combination of passion and drama that will put a smile on your face. The characters are captivating, and the secondary characters are amazing and their happiness is contagious. The story is somewhat suspenseful and exciting when you add in their drama along with their emotions about their love and the intriguing antics they get up too. This gives you a tale that's truly delightful. I couldn't help but enjoyed their story along with how the relationship began. This is definitely a awesome story to read.

Wonderful Young Love Storyline
Ranching seems to have good down to earth folks. True love seem to be more in the agriculture and ranching than in the big cities. I loved the characters and their values for having a good wholesome lifestyle with a loving marriage, working together, and a family life. Good story Author.

Fun read! The ending was a bit unnecessary for me. I love strong heroines like Kerry. But I need a novella with Anna and Paul. MOST IMPORTANTLY: I need a book about Calum. Immediately.

Tyler and Kerry
A cute little love story. Not a l inot of angst. I liked the easy flow of life.
It moved slow from the middle to the end.

Not impressed
I was really not happy with this book. I couldn't care about the characters because it was so poorly written. The timing, the spacing, the word choice were all of off. I don't usually give such negative reviews, but I couldn't even finish the book I got to page 79 before I gave up completely.

Not Sure....
I'm not really sure how I feel about the ending of this book. There's no real timeframe between the last incident and the last scene. ( Trying not to give away anything). I might be interested in seeing where this series goes

Second time around
Kerry’s in love with the Granite Ranch and is a bit heartbroken that Mr. Barns didn't leave it to her when he passed. He instead left it to his estranged son, movie star Tyler. At the same time, Kerry tries to convince Tyler to sell the ranch to her and go back to Hollywood. Tyler as other plans that include him, Kerry and together forever.
While I thought this was a good read, it was at times too wordy, read awkwardly in some parts, and had no transition of timelines.
Rating: 3.5

my first A.R. Williams read
Maybe this could be considered a 2nd chance romance. Boy leaves ranch for the big city, and comes back to the life he left behind. But the girl hasn’t been sadly waiting for him. She’s been making a life managing the ranch and wants to run it,without him. Nice storyline but at one point several new characters were introduced and I thought I had missed some pages. And there are times when there are but think you’ll like the story and characters long run on sentences that I had to keep repeating to understand what was happening

wanted to like it, but…
The story was good, but the writing was not. Everytime I’d get drawn into the story, the authors style of writing details would draw me out. I did not finish the story but hope Kerry and Pampered Prince had a good life.

Such a Fun Read!!!
I really enjoyed reading this story about Kerry and Tyler. Their childhood background really added spice to their adult lives. This was so good. Calum and Selena has got to be a hoot! Because she she sounds completely hilarious!!!! Can't wait to read this story.

Great story
This story piggybacks off of the one about Selena's cousin! I'm glad I read it first. These women are incredible. I was glad to see that Tyler wasn't an arrogant, pretty boy. Great storyline.

Great book
This is fabulous!!!!! I really enjoyed the build of tension from enemies to lovers. The transition from past and present is done well. The humour this brought was needed given the main characters present situation. I can't wait to read more from the author.

Boring
Made no sense, had no flow, unrelatable characters, and antiquated dialogue "city slicker"??? So clichéd! I think this author was trying way too hard in bringing this story together, unfortunately it falls flat and I found myself skipping pages very frequently.

Great story, but...
I really enjoyed the book. Good story. I liked the characters. The editing was a little lacking though. Lots of little mistakes that should have been fixed. And errors with words missing or an incorrect word.

This was ok, they have good chemistry. I think there were way too many obstacles to disrupt their rekindling and relationship rebuilding, basically not enough romance so when a new issue popped up at Chapter 24, 92%, I gave up and probably won't continue this series.

alright
Couldn’t feel the love. Fake not believable. Not sure if I will read the text next book in the series.

🥃 THE POUR: Coming Home by A.R. Williams
Title: Coming Home
Author: A.R. Williams
Genre: Small-Town Western Romance / Enemies-to-Lovers / Interracial Romance
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 Stars — A Good, Solid Read)
Proof Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Flirty ranch chemistry, strong language, and passionate love scenes)
When you pour a glass of a small-town Western romance, you generally know the exact notes you're going to get on the palate: a wide-open landscape, some heavy family baggage, and a slow-burning friction between two people who think they hate each other. A.R. Williams’s Coming Home sets up a highly engaging, classic mash bill in the Colorado mountains. It serves as a good date of a book—warm, lively, and entertaining—even if a crowded barrel toward the end keeps it from finishing like a top-shelf reserve.
The story drops us right onto the rugged terrain of the Granite Ranch in Parshall, Colorado. Kerry is a hard-working, no-nonsense heroine who has spent years pouring her sweat into running the ranch, fully expecting to inherit it. Instead, the owner passes away and leaves the land to his wayward, estranged Hollywood-star son, Tyler. When the "Pampered Prince" returns to his roots to decide whether to sell or keep the property, Kerry is waiting with a chip on her shoulder, determined to run the city boy ragged so he'll flee back to LA.
But Tyler isn't just dealing with a fierce head wrangler; he's confronting the ghost of a fractured relationship with his late father and the realization that "The Brat"—the housekeeper’s little girl he left behind—has grown into a captivating woman. As Kerry tries to steel her heart against his charm, the forced proximity on the ranch begins to thin out their old defenses, forcing them to reacquaint themselves with the land and each other.
What I Savored (The Smooth Finish) 🥃
The Sizzling Ranch Chemistry: The push-and-pull banter between Kerry and Tyler has an excellent, high-proof kick right from the jump. Williams excels at building that classic enemies-to-lovers friction, and the transition from childhood irritation to intense adult attraction delivers some genuinely hot, passionate love scenes that keep you turning pages.
Authentic Small-Town Atmosphere: The background texture of the Colorado ranch life is woven into the story beautifully. It feels grounded, comforting, and perfectly captures that distinct, cozy energy of a community where everyone knows your business and your history.
What I Side-Eyed (The Bitter Jolt) 🥃
A Crowded, Fragmented Finish: The bitter jolt that ultimately thins out the flavor profile of this pour is the excessive amount of plot drama introduced in the final stretch. While the romance between Kerry and Tyler is sweet, the book gets bogged down with a massive influx of external obstacles, subplots involving secondary characters (like Selena, Calum, and a mysterious figure named Vera), and loose ends.
The Frustrating Cliffhanger: Instead of letting the main couple's emotional journey settle into a satisfying, rich finish, the story leaves several massive plot points hanging right at the end. Rushing into a cliffhanger setup rather than neatly tying up the main thread leaves the reader with a sharp, abrupt stop that tests your patience.
The Perfect Pairing
This contemporary Western romance is best paired with a Classic Whiskey Ginger with a Twist of Lime. Why? Because it’s a reliable, comforting blend with a familiar flavor profile. It brings that warm, rustic whiskey kick of the Colorado ranch, balanced out by a sweet, bubbly ginger fizz that goes down easy on a quiet night, even if it leaves you waiting for the next round to get a complete finish.

read both this and the sequel. The plot was not too bad but the writing and grammar mistakes were really off putting.

The plot is okay but the book is poorly written, in my opinion. It was fine for a little bit and then it just got worse. Very like…off putting.
