IM PROUD OF MYSELF BECAUSE I HAD THE PATIENCE TO FINISH THIS DAMN BOOK!
It was such a boring, cheesy and typical romance novel. The story was really predictable.
I liked the female character, Juhi. She is strong, modern and ambitious. But the male character? HE SUCKED!.

Happily Never After by Sudeep Nagarkar
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5 stars)

I found the plot a bit too familiar—like a story I’ve read before. The emotional drama sometimes felt overly dramatic, and certain twists didn’t land as powerfully as they could have. I appreciated the message about self-worth and second chances, but I wished the execution had been a bit more subtle and layered.

If you enjoy quick, emotional reads with a focus on love and life lessons, this might work for you. But if you’re looking for something new or unpredictable, this one might feel a little too safe.

Its a one sided crush/ love story of the main character Juhi and how she didn't get the love of her life abhay who she meet at his job place but then got success in her self chosen business of organic dairy farm when abhay choose to marry another. One of the common plots, presented in simple language for mostly teenage readers. 2 stars for this one.

If you agree, we usually come across stories where a boy and a girl eventually ends up loving each other after a pretty course of time. They may be strangers, friends, relatives or whatsoever. Struggles bear fruit at the end and so on. But this is not the case always. Fate has its other side of the coin. “Happily Never After" being the kind.
The story revolves around a workaholic, ambitious, modern and shy girl named Juhi, who has to be unwillingly all ears to her mom’s daily lectures of getting married. But she is more of a career oriented girl who surely don’t want to get hitched soon. Whereas the writer portrayed her dad as a truly supportive modern one who loves and hears her daughter with all his heart. Days passed by and Juhi succeeded in rejecting a bunch of proposals. Her mom was terribly upset at the failed attempts and that she would need to wait till the next time Juhi visited her hometown from Pune. Pune is the place where she works and lives with her very cheerful, fun loving, overfree, flatmate & best friend Nisha, who flirts with many, however keeping the fact clear that she was having a caring boyfriend, Gautam. The bond between these three reminded me of Rancho, Farhan and Raju of 3-Idiots(XD). Sharing the bond of much love, crazy party nights and what not. Every fairy tale has a charming prince. Abhay was the “prince” of Juhi’s tale. He happened to join her office on the first day after her Diwali vaccay. His presence made her heart flutter, giving her butterflies every second she stared at him. She was so infatuated with him that she often had musings about him. The pull was inexorable. She often goes numb when Abhay happens to be around her. Regardless of the fact she is shy, both got along soon. A day tainted all her daydreams! The day when Abhay took her out to a resto. It was then Abhay got a call from his long- term girlfriend, Stuti, whom he loved sincerely. Gosh! It was a “Humpty Dumpty had a great fall” moment where Juhi was left shell-shocked. She started to interrogate herself.
“You told me everything about yourself, but you never said that you have a girlfriend. My love is yours but now I know your love is not mine.”
We all experience such moments at some point of life where we feel everything withering away. He/she is with someone else. Maybe they aren’t meant for each other. Maybe they are. Sometimes we end up losing our ownself brushing off the fact who we are.

What will Juhi do? Would she forgo everything just to prove her love for him? Would she just let it go and concede it? Or would she at least endeavor her love not to have any regrets later? Would she pick herself up and get over this turmoil with agility? Or would it make her flimsy further? Would she hung up on Abhay like many other girls or would there be a point of success awaiting for her?

This book has got all the answers to your many relatable questions. A book depicting an inspiring tale of mixed emotions- love, friendship, family, hope and strength and resonating the best characters that simple touches the cord of a reader. Go grab it soon and enjoy!

My love is yours but now I know your love is not mine.

I feel I am a frequent wanderer in a land that exists only in my head.

This book was easy to read. It wasn’t boring, and what I liked was that it did exhibit behaviours that a person gets when they crush on or are infatuated with someone who is in another relationship. From
-Dehumanising the other person and ascribing them bad traits
-Assuming the person doesn’t know their partner well and they are somehow not able to see how bad they are
-Telling yourself that the crush is helpless in being with the partner
-Assuming that they don’t know you well enough (if they did, they would leave their partner for you, right? :’D)
-Trying to stick around bc you hope they will change their mind
-Needing to prove yourself, moulding yourself to them, and giving gifts
-Trying to read their mind
-Stalking their social media to compensate for the the time they CHOSE not to spend with you
-Getting annoyed and cringing when they post with/spend time with/Praise their partner
-Blocking signs that the crush doesn’t choose you
-Thinking you would have done better if you were the partner. You would have joined him in the office party, you would have cheered him up when he was down. The other is negligent.
-In moments of above, taking the opportunity to show your support and bridge the gap and console the crush
-When it gets really dark, turning into someone you’re not, i.e.taking the rejection badly and/or getting desperate with others and settling.
-Taking it personally and/or matter of self-worth, when they inevitably reject you

What I liked most was that the ending was not expected.
-Juhi worked on herself and came out the victor of the situation. She gained a self esteem, and also plenty of life achievements.
-Abhay actually struggled with his wife, and DID NOT end up with Juhi. Although they both were able to, had they chosen to. This was very surprising and pleasantly so. I don’t like how the couple usually (90% of the time) end up together in these types of books, even when one or both acted very immaturely and both were not compatible with each other. The different ending was a good thing, I think.
-It was an interesting element that Juhi had never been in love before, because this made the experience even more tragic. One takes a lot of inferences from their first experience of something, i.e. love.

All in all, I didn’t learn so much that was new in this book, but I definitely found it interesting in the topic and themes of unrequited love and loving someone who belongs to another. I also thought the different ending made me like it a little more. In terms of writing, it was nothing so poetic or groundbreaking, but quite easy to read. It’s an Indian book and the language used was reflective of that.

Most love stories end with 'And they lived happily ever after, together.'
But this story chooses to differ. And that's what makes it different from the rest.
Happily Never After is a triangle love story between Juhi-Abhay-Stuti.
Juhi loves Abhay, Abhay loves Stuti, and Stuti, well, she loves herself and her career.
What I liked about this story is it is different from the usual rom-com. And usually, most authors show the male protagonist as the one who is strong and moves on to become successful in life, but here the author chooses to showcase the female protagonist as the one who emerges strong. Though there is nothing wrong with that, I loved how the author portrayed the female protagonist Juhi.
Also, other supporting characters are introduced not for sake of it, but the way they connect as the story progresses is also noteworthy.
It was the first time I read Sudeep Nagarkar's work and what I liked the most is that he choose to showcase the characters from the middle class with whom one can easily relate, their mindset, their struggles, etc.
So if you like to read some light rom-com I would suggest reading this one.

One of the best books by Sudeep, Juhi, a girl from the village comes to Pune for her work and stays with his friend Nisha. As she is very reserved she does not have any friends and one fine day she sees Abhay and loves him on his first sight as she believes that she will be the best pair for him. After some days Juhi comes to know that he is already committed to a girl called Shurti. And in an incident Juhi and Shuri had a conversation, Abhay by seeing this scolded Juhi. Dejected Juhu resigns her job and goes to her village. After some days she goes to the farm along with his father and brother . Slowly she gets interested in it and starts organic farming alone so starts delivering organic milk. She names her venture as Happy cows and meets investors and also succeeds in her life by overcoming the one-sided love failure. A beautiful story not to miss.

Happily Never After is a simple and easy-to-read story that I really enjoyed going through. The plot flows smoothly, making it a book you can finish in just a few sittings.

The characters are well defined, each with their own personality and charm. You can easily connect with them and understand their emotions. What stood out the most for me was the way the author emphasized each relationship—whether it was friendship, love, or family bonds. Every connection felt genuine and added depth to the story.

Overall, it’s a heartwarming read with a focus on emotions and relationships, told in a way that keeps you engaged till the end.

Happily Never After
The story of this book made me cry while reading. I never thought that the story would be so heart-touching.
The author beautifully portrays a love triangle between Juhi, Abhay, and Stuti. Juhi loves Abhay, Abhay loves Stuti, and Stuti loves herself and her career. But the sad part is that Juhi's love story becomes one-sided😭
What I like about this story is that Juhi's character is showcased as strong and independent girl. Also the other supporting characters are nicely connected. It was the first time I read Sudeep Nagarkar's work, and I really liked it.

Oh Juhi! I was hurting for her!

It was literally love at first sight for her but unfortunately the love was unrequited. To the point that she literally made a fool of herself before him. So . . . Many . . . Cringe-worthy moments! And oh how she was right about Abhay's relationship . . . but he found out soon enough. Thank gawd Juhi was about to get over the situation and him.

This is an average book with typical romance, average story and drama with barely any twist and turns. You will find more gripping stories in today's tv series and I think you should not waste time in reading or listening this book. If published before 2015 or 2016 this could have felt decent but still not that good.

Way, way, way too cheesy. Sudeep Nagarkar always wrote simple and cheesy stories which made me grow out of his books. This book sounds like he wrote it with Juhi being a guy and Abhay being a girl but swapped the gender at the end to not fall into the bottomless stereotypical trope and changed up some details. That is what I felt. I felt like the whole book has been gender swapped.

This was sad and depressing for so much of the time, I'm left feeling so myself. But, without saying too much, some was content.

Finished Reading "Happily Never After" by "Sudeep Nagarkar" and here are my reviews:-

Happily never after story about Juhi and her love towards Abhay and inturn Abhay doesn't care about Juhi and the love he has on Stuti.

There are love stories we read where a boy meets girl, a girl meets boy and they fall in love. However that's not the case always. This book highlights the other aspect of life which is the existence of stories which are complete due to it's incompleteness in nature.

Happily never after is an aspect of life that we all experience at some point. Not able to get a person you love is relatable. Juhi and Abhay resonates in most of the young Indians. In this amazing rollercoaster journey of companionship and bonding lies that one important factor which is understanding.

The love story was heartbreaking but as the story goes ahead it makes me realise that bad experiences can make you more wiser than before. And it was not predicatble that the story turned out to be very inspiring at last. All you need is a one person in your life who understands you to the fullest,no matter in which situation you're in. If that one person is there with you, you can sail through all the difficulties and problems in your life.

Each and every character portrayed in the story has it's role to play in some other lives, it's like a thread tied to two corners. If one corner is loosened the thread will loose its grip, same way if you're not able to understand that person you'll too loose that person.

So before judging anything for anyone, first try to understand what that person is going through and then everything will be alright just like the end of this wonderful story... Its a story that make everyone belive that ..love is not only weakness but its the strength of the life.A brilliant novel and an Never give up attitude by Juhi is all wanted in each and everyone's lives. I always like sudeep nagarkar books. He write in a simple way so that everyone can understand it easily. The story was amazing. I loved it💘. It's about choosing yourself or losing yourself for someone you love...

In Some parts you can even relate yourself coz we all have gone through this type of situation where you don't know what to do to get someone you love.. Beautiful potrait of one side love! Sometimes its all that hurted words from your loved ones makes you to achieve something in your life and keeps you motivated. Just because you love someone doesn't means you have to marry them, there must be equal efforts, love and support.

There is a line I personally like the most : "Sometimes its not about choosing between the right or the wrong. Sometimes its about choosing the better among the worst.." When I was reading the book it felt like I am living the part or I am any Character of this book. No one can resist themselves to put the book and do any other work instead will read the book.

The experience of reading was so so so good. Thank you so much Sudeep Sir. I would like to give 5 out of 5 stars for this very beautiful book.
