Well worth the wait Wry humor and trick knees abound in this amazing collection of stories. The characters are entertaining and the stories enthralling as those older gals finally find their way to the HEA. Look at what some of my favorite authors have contributed.
Merely Mortal by Michele M. Pillow Best Birthday Ever! This one is fast-paced and heartwarming! The author kept me on my toes as the odd daughter out let her love shine through to save her family. Too bad they weren’t even aware of it. The characters were phenomenal! I love the back and forth and how she and Paul seemed to have that instant connection. The danger was real , and sometimes the stuff of nightmares, but that just enhanced the enjoyment of the story. This was a fantastic read and the perfect addition to the collection. 5 stars
My Big Fat Hairy Wedding by Robyn Peterman Every day is a best day This book is absolutely hilarious! The snarky zingers start on page one and keep on coming until the very end. The fantastic characters just kept getting better and they handled the wedding from hell, literally, like it was just another day. I love how the author kept the story moving and layered humor with action and romance for a wonderful weekend read. I can’t wait to read her next book! 5 stars
Surviving Midlife by Milly Taiden Life begins after What a fantastic story! I love how the author stuck to reality when it came to Sophie’s past and her reasons for holding onto it, but I enjoyed even more the second chance she was given and the strength it took to begin her new adventure. The magic was the perfect addition to the story and Cedric was the icing on the cake. This book is a fast-paced read with just the right HEA and I didn’t want to put it down. I hope the author continues to bring us more PWF for us to enjoy. 5 stars
Running with the Devil by Mandy M Roth Throwing hexes This book is a fast-paced journey into the hilarity and heartbreak of the characters everyday lives. I love the backstory and I shed some tears along with the occasional curse or two while Kerri came to terms with her new reality. The author kept true to form and made the alpha males work for what they wanted while overcoming evil. This book is a phenomenal read and I can only hope that we’ll get a chance to see the rest of the girls find their own HEAs. 5 stars
I read My Big Fat Hairy Wedding by Robyn Peterman. I loved this story about an aging model who is a werewolf shifter. I was laughing so hard my sides were hurting. I liked all the different magical creatures in this story. The banter between Swoozie and Chance was cute. The Tupperware people were the best. I hope that Robyn makes this story into a new series. I adore her writing and everything she comes up with.
Mandy M Roth. What a fantastic short story. Would love to see all the characters have a story of their own. This is a great PNR. To have a love that continued for 16 years after the breakup is romantic. There was sassy humor and protectiveness riddled throughout the plot.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What an amazing bunch of stories, from some of my favorite authors! Absolutely loved them and the kickass, badass women in each. Midlife doesn't have to be dull or a kick in the ass, it can be magical, enchanting and hairy!
An amazing group of authors writing about amazing mature women. A few examples in the collection:
THE BARGAIN by Christine Gael Inez & Christoph: She didn't know how she'd live through it again. She'd watched her daughter die, now her granddaughter. She had to stay strong for her sweet girl's father. When a man dressed in black offered a chance to save her girl how could she not take it—no matter the cost? A short story filled with action and strength.
Sent to another man—more like a warrior—could he really help her honor the bargain? No matter her age, she'd do what she had to. She should be past feeling things for a man. Convincing herself she had a job to do and he promised to help her at least some of the way. Could she meet the grueling pace and ignore her feelings. Only time would tell.
THE AGE OF INNO-SCENTS by Renee George Nora, Ezra & the gang: A birthday celebration with the whole gang. Guess what they had planned—yep had to do with murder. A Murder Mystery Weekend. Just for fun this time, right? Wrong. When Nora's smellavision went active it showed a real murder, not with actors but real culprits.
The location was the girl's high school. They knew their way around at least a little. Working together with their boyfriends and husband, as well as a few more visions, they follow the clues to try to not only find the bad guy but can they actually prevent a murder?
MERELY MORTAL by Michelle M. Pillow Tamara & Paul: Eight siblings, one of them mortal, lucky Tamara. Here they were at her fortieth birthday with her family and family friends. Another year, another birthday spent listening to sympathy from all the immortals who knew her time was limited—compared to them. Her siblings acted like little kids because in their circle of life they were.
Suddenly it happened—the curse her grandparent told her about was real—what could she do? Could the only other mortal at the party help her?
SURVIVING MIDLIFE by Milly Taiden Sophie & ???(You'll know why the ? Marks into the story.) I have to say this was such a good over forty romance. Life isn't so good at the beginning of the story and she has some changes to learn to live with. Thanks to her friend's help and emotional support from her aunt she's about to find some real changes in her life.
The characters are fun to get to know, except for one who we've all seen or read about somewhere. The story is fun, touching, and a great example to others who may need to make some changes themselves. I'm used to a different kind of story from Ms. Taiden. However, I love this one as much as her other stories.
RUNNING WITH THE DEVIL by Mandy M. Roth Patrick & Kerri: A witch. A politician. A murder. It's a world where supernaturals are “kinda” allowed to live among humans. In this world (too) there is prejudice whether fear or judgment. There is a lot to keep them apart. Is their love enough to give them a future?
Not much more to tell without spoilers. I can tell you you'll enjoy this story as the last in the anthology. The stories are novella length but complete and standalone. Mature characters are human and immortal. Don't miss these mature love stories.
Have read several so far and throughly enjoyed the fabulous stories. I will continue to update as I read more of them.
Running with the Devil my Mandy M. Roth Oh I throughly enjoyed this story. I wish that it was longer. It has humor, action, drama, and a bit of suspense. It is extremely well written and developed. I throughly enjoyed Karrie’s attitude and personality. She is feisty and stubborn. The support characters are hilarious and add so much to the story. It has that touch that keeps you glued to it. It is an absolute must read
The Invention of Magic by Aaron M. Cabrera The story was a good story. It was well written and developed. I like Jinx and her craziness. I do like how it ends and how it makes you want more. It has moments that are funny that it has you laughing out loud. It definitely a story worth reading.
Snow Hill by Bobby Leigh I throughly enjoyed this story. It has some drama, mystery, and a bit of action. It is well written and developed. I liked the characters and their personalities. Nicole is a great character with a strong but loving personality. She has the makings of being a much longer story and possibly series in my opinion. This is definitely worth a fabulous read.
Train Bound to Forty by Stephanie Berchiolly The story was very interesting. I guess because it was to shorter it felt rushed a bit at the end. But, it was well written and I really enjoyed the characters. They had moments that allowed you to laugh with them. I would like to see a full length story of these characters as they were great.
My Big Fat Hairy Wedding by Robyn Peterman Oh what a story. In the true fashion of Robyn Peterman this story is hilarious. I absolutely loved Swoozie and the gang. Their personalities are stunning and felt throughout the story. It is well written and developed. It will have you laughing out loud throughout the entire thing. It is an absolute must read and definitely doesn’t disappoint.
This is a great collection of short stories that let you know that life does not end at 40! It may just be beginning!!
Yasmine Galenorn's short story Weaver's Web is about January Jaxson and her boyfriend Killian. They have gone away for Valentine's Day. On vacation they meet Edwina who tells them about her sisters disappearance. January and Killian help her with the issue.
Mandy M Roth's short story Running With The Devil is about Kerri and Patrick. These two are married at a young age and forced apart by Patrick's family. Patrick has always known that Kerri was a witch, but he did not know his families secret. There is a happy ending with this story.
Michelle M Pillow's short story Merely Mortal is about Tamara. Tamara is the only human among her supernatural family. This story is about a necromancer with a grudge who.has decided that Tamara is the only person in her family worthy to live.
I read these stories plus all of the other stories. It was a great collection of short reads from favorite authors and new to me authors. I received an Advance Reader Copy for an honest review.
19 great stories, by 19 great authors, all featuring strong heroines of 40 and up, and all full of magic, Talk about an absolute treat!
Featuring the first of Mandy M. Roth’s new series, a story that shows that t-shirts might be vintage, but love definitely isn’t!
Also a one-timer hairy RomCom by Robyn Peterman that will make you laugh and laugh again, and fall for amazing characters.
Another one-timer, this time by Michelle M. Pillow, one that you won’t be able to put down until you’re done because it is that gripping.
Another gripping one by Christine Gael, one that proves that you must be careful who you wish something from.
And a great cozy mystery by Yasmine Galenorn, part of a series, perhaps, but of which you don’t need to read the previous books beforehand because it is seamlessly and fantastically written.
19 Hot flash paranormal (the heroine's are forty plus) - there were a surpring number of really good stories on this collection. Many had me looking to see if the author had more stories in the same world. I normally buy these for a couple authors that I am familiar with and read their stories and a few others before losing interest, but I read this cover to cover and only skimmed two where the writing style didn't click for me. So all in all ninety nine cents well spent.
Oh how I enjoyed each of these stories and I am no wear near done yet!
Running with the Devil ~ Mandy Roth: I loved this story! It is the beginning of a new series and I didn't want it to end. I wanted to beat Kerri's husband for what happened sixteen years prior. I wanted to strangle him in the present. Kerri and her friends are a HOOT! Everyone needs a tribe like that. Remember that things are not always as they seem. I was glued to this story and loved how things worked out to give Kerri her HEA. Nope, not saying more because no spoilers.
A book full of my favorite authors: Robyn Peterman's My Big fat hairy wedding had me stiches from the first page. A Super Model werewolf bride, her demon fiance, her mermaid man eating bestie, their war lock gay bestie, A future mother in law from hell, and a few new friends to round out the wedding party what can go wrong?! I couldn't put it down. I love how Robyn combines her outrageous humor with just as love. The whole anthology is just delicious. I love the fact these ladies and gents are midlife. #pwf #robynpeterman
Lots of fun!! I picked this up since one of my favorites Robyn Peterman has a story in it. And she did not disappoint. Plus I found a few more authors to love. Well worth the read!
What a enjoyable collection of short stories some by authors I'm familiar with and some that I'm not which still made for a amazing read. I loved getting introduce to other authors work and what better way to do so by reading this collection of middle age women who have paranormal abilities. So even though I read this whole collection my review is solely on Renee George (The Age of InnoScents) As usual this was a fantastic read filled with intrigue, suspense, action, and of course lots of laugh out loud moments to keep you hooked from beginning to end. Can't wait for the next book in this series. As always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
Short but good! This is the very last book in this collection, and I enjoyed reading it very much. Even though it is a short story, the characters are well-developed, and the plot is complete. It is a typical Mandy M. Roth novella and is fun read if you only have about an hour. I was given an ARC copy of the book to read and review by the author and BookSprout and this is my honest review. I will update my review as I read additional stories in this collection.
I absolutely loved most of the stories in this anthology, and actually read most of the authors included in it. This review, however, is of Mandy Roth’s Running With The Devil. This story was fast paced and original, with fantastic character descriptions and a storyline that kept my full attention. I got lost in the story, forgetting the outside world as I read about Patrick and Kerri and their rocky road to a second chance.
This is a paranormal anthology by lots of great authors. I loved all the books in this series. The Invention of Magic by Aaron M. Cabrera The Invention of Magic by Aaron M. Cabrera is the first book in this anthology. Jinx wants to see a witch on her 7th birthday. She gets what she wants but later realized that it was her mom. She then decides to invent magic. Her best friend Nick helps her as he is in love with her. Then her boyfriend breaks up with her and she decided to curse him. Nick talks her down but it is too late, she brings out a demon who takes over Nick and tries to kill her ex Lorenzo. This is the first book I have read by Aaron M. Cabrera but I will be looking up more.
Snow Hill: Hexed On a Feeling by Bobby Leigh In this book Nicole can sense other peoples pain and intentions. She is doing a story on a man who supposedly killed another man and got the death penalty. She went to the town after a friend told her about the case. She found out that what they thought happened did not. Jayson is supposed to keep an eye on her but falls for her. I have not read any of Bobby Leigh's books before but really enjoyed this one. Cannot wait to read the rest.
Train Bound to Forty by Stephanie Berchiolly In this book Florebelle's life went down the drain. She lost the ring she got from her mother that unknown to her was protecting her. She lost her fiancée and her job. The good thing is that she met with Jareth who started having feelings for her even though he was supposed to protect her without her knowledge that she was in danger. I enjoyed reading this book and can not wait to read the rest of Bobby Leigh's books.
Midlife shelf life by Macy Dixon Emmaline is a human who knows about the supernatural world. She is in love with her friend but is afraid that he will disappear from her life if she tells him. She accidentally turns herself into his ex and ends up with a stalker. She asks his best friend for help and he gives it.
The Bargain by Christine Gael Inez makes a deal with a vampire to help her granddaughter who was dying of leukemia after her mom died. She has to take on a vampire hunter who has turned evil and is torturing vampires and werewolves instead of killing them. She enlists the help of another vampire hunter. Christoph does not have one of the blessings that make a vampire hunter stronger but he is one of the best. He helps her and they start falling for each other. Then comes the betrayal. Can they work together without trust between them. I loved reading this book.
A Touch of Twilight by Christine Zane Thomas In this book Nora is magic and a teacher. She senses magic being used on a student but is not sure so she helps him and starts to investigate. It comes to a head when she is at prom dancing with Desmond. Everyone but her and three girls were frozen. I did not see the ending of this story coming.
The Age of Inno-scents by Renee George I love Renee George's books. If you have not read her Nora Black series I highly recommend it. In this book Nora is doing a murder mystery weekend with Easy and the girls. She sees in a vision two people planning a murder. She and the gang set out to stop it. I was surprised by the ending.
Day of the Were-Jackal by Shea MacLeod I enjoyed this book and will be looking for the series. Edwina is a witch and is on a romantic getaway with her boyfriend the chief of police. When a drag queen is killed and another is under arrest, she is on the case.
Code Name: Mockingbird by Kristen Painter In this book Bess just got retired early from the Active & ready resistance order of warriors or ARROW. Cal is a vampire who is getting death threats. He hires her to protect him and they fall for each other.
Spell of a Time by Jenna Rivers I enjoyed reading this book about a witch new to her powers and a shifter who can no longer. Zara is trying to navigate a new world of dating and supernaturals.
Weaver's Web: a Moondshadow Bay Novella by Yasmine Galenorn January works as a paranormal investigator. She is on a vacation with her boyfriend and the innkeepers sister is missing. She investigates and figures out what happened. The innkeeper has a hard decision to make. I loved this book.
The Perks of Being a Hoodoo Rose by Charise M. Studesville In this book Poloma's grandma died. She went home for the funeral and realized how horrible her husband was. He left her there in the midst of the funeral. She must decide whether to go home or stay.
Merely Mortal by Michelle M. Pillow If you haven't read any of her books I highly recommend them. In this book Tamara's family is a powerful magical family but she is merely human. When a necromancer gives her an amulet her family starts dying and she's the only one that can see that it's not the dragons. Can she figure out how to save them in time with the help of fellow human Paul.
My Big Fat Hairy Wedding by Robyn Peterman I love Robyn Peterman's books. In this book Swoozie the werewolf is engaged to a demon. His mom hates her and is planning the wedding even though neither the bride or groom want a big wedding. I love how Chance stood up for Swoozie. The ending was funny as usual with Robyn Peterman.
Midlife Collision by Reggi Dupree I loved reading this story. This is the first time I've heard of Reggi Dupree but will be looking up more books. Joaquin is a shifter who finds his mate. The problem us she's coming out of a bad marriage and is human. She hits him and thinks he's a dog. This book was funny and romantic.
Surviving Midlife by Milly Taiden Sophie has done everything to make her husband happy even through his multiple affairs. After her children leave he serves her with divorce papers. She must learn to live for herself as she learned that she had magic.
Magic Takes Manhattan by Jade Greenberg In this book Mandi is accident prone and Jack is looking for his goddess. They were cursed and he's running out of time. Mandi is trying to help him even as she is falling for him. This story was different and entertaining.
Eternal by Nicole Rosas Maria is suffering from altitude sickness then finds a plant that helps. She dropped it down the mountain and then fell herself. Fernando saved her but puts her in danger because of jealousy on his friends part. I enjoyed this book. Running with the Devil by Mandy M. Roth In this book Patrick and Kerri are in love and secretly elope since his family hates her supposedly because she is supernatural and he is not. Then she's arrested and he leaves to get his uncles to help and doesn't return for sixteen years. I really loved this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nineteen tales of older women finding their voices, finding love, and enjoying their second act in life. Get ready for AGED TO PERFECTION. This anthology has new and established authors telling tales that will sure tickle your imagination.
I will review the following three stories below:
Weaver’s Web by Yasmine Galenorn: When paranormal investigator and witch January Jones goes away for Valentine’s Day with her werewolf boyfriend, Killian, both find something more at the B&B they are at then meets the eye as ghosts, vampires and more crash their romantic vacation.
Running with the Devil by Mandy M. Roth: When a witch finds her ex in her small magic shop claiming he was set up for a murder, can she put aside her past with him in order to figure out who is out to destroy him?
My Big Fat Hairy Wedding by Robyn Peterman: When a forty-something werewolf supermodel is getting married to the Devil’s daughter’s son, she finds that her demonic mother-in-law is the least of her problems and in this case, bridezilla is more of a momzilla…in Hell, literally.
I was thrilled to see some of my favorite authors here as well as a few new to me authors to try in this anthology that celebrates life after forty. Three of the stories I will review as there are just too many to give a review for individually. This anthology has a diverse set of established authors (Mandy M. Roth, Yasmine Galenorn, etc.) to new voices in the genre making their mark. I found the mix of both to have some hits (quite a few hits to be honest) and a few misses that didn’t quite gel with me as a reader. I will be honest, the paranormal women’s fiction genre is something that is fun, entertaining and really new to the world of books. I find that I like these books a lot with their very relatable characters being over forty and so diverse that it is hard to decide which called to me more.
First up, Weaver’s Web by Yasmine Galenorn. This is part of her Moonshadow Bay series that I just love, and I am thrilled to see January and Killian enjoying some time away from their home base. The story is full of unique characters, a lush scenery that left me wanting to visit and a mystery to solve. The author does a wonderful job keeping my attention as I sped through the book, and I felt it was on par with the past Moonshadow Bay books as it was filled to the brim with twists that I sure didn’t see coming. All in all, a wonderful novella in the series.
Next is Running with he Devil by Mandy M. Roth. This was one of the first stories I clicked on and found to be highly enjoyable, entertaining and had me on the edge of my seat a few times with anticipation. I loved the sparks that flew between Kerri and Patrick. The mystery that surrounded Patrick was intriguing and I felt this should have been a longer book because I really wanted to know more about these two. Overall, a great story that fit nicely in the anthology.
Finally, My Big Fat Hairy Wedding by Robyn Peterman. I got to admit this one had me laughing hysterically at times. Swoozie is a forty-five supermodel but also a werewolf who is marrying the Devil’s grandson. Add in a soon to be Mother-in-Law from Hell, the fact she doesn’t make friends easy and more well, let’s just say let the good times roll. This story was by far the perfect introduction to Ms. Peterman’s writing. The characters were highly entertaining, intriguing and one of the few stories that I can honestly say had me laughing from the first page to the last. I never wanted to know more about Swoozie and the rest of the gang than I did reading this story. The sheer fun that was in the story had me right from the start and I know I am going to check out this author’s books in the paranormal women’s fiction genre to see what else I can get my hands on.
Overall, AGED TO PERFECTION has some hits out of the ballpark and a few misses for me. The writing for some of the stories were fast paced and entertaining where a few others were just slow to heat up for me. I can say for the most part there were more hits than misses in this anthology for me that isn’t always the case. If you are looking for an anthology that gives you a mix of authors (new and old), stores to see if something may intrigue you to look more at the author’s books then try AGED TO PERFECTION and settle in for a fun time. I can highly recommend this anthology if you never read a paranormal women’s fiction book before. Perfect choice on a cold winter’s night.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement
Aged to Perfection was the perfect Anthology .It was filled with great stories of coming to age ...well hitting that perfect age of 40+ and then some. Each story had that 40 something woman who either was starting over or coming into her own . Who says you can't start over, find love again yes even with a long lost love or that not so long ago ex. Some of us are just starting to find our grove or something that was inside of use that we never knew existed. 40 IS THE NEW 20. So instead of trying to review each book separately I decide to pick a favorite. Believe me I loved each and every story. .Mandy's M Roth's book Running with the Devil: Supernatural 's are real always have been. For ages they remained hidden in the shadows , only now they out, and the whole world have different thoughts about their whole existence. Some are ok with it , some are a little scared. But then there are those who wish they never existed, they must control them by setting certain laws they must follow. They are afraid those Supernaturals will use their very power to take over the world. Kerri had known Patrick O'Sullivan since they were kids, they married young. Kerri was a supernatural, actually she was a Witch. Patrick is a human in love with Kerri. His family is a family of certain Power. They are not to happy with Patrick's a Kerri's union, they wanted or want Patrick to marry within his class. They had great political plans for Patrick and Kerri's kind and her antic's just didn't fit. Because of them Patrick leaves Kerri. Years later after starting over Kerri has moved on she's got great friends, and a great business.....but just like that the past comes barreling through her door in the form of Someone she never thought she see again. Patrick had moved on in his life, he had a great Career he was moving up. But something or someone was missing. Kerri was not in his life anymore , he still wanted her still loved her. Until now everything that was right is going wrong and down hill quick. It wasn't until when he finds out or more or less someone threatens Kerri's life he decides to go to her . He admits he was wrong all those years ago and comes clean about things he kept hidden from her....he too is a Supernatural, most of his family were....deals were made for power and sacrifices were given. All hell and I mean hell breaks loose, but in the end they win....with a very happy ending for all. Don't want to give to much away but all in all this story is a great one to begin a new Series.
Tamara is the 8th sibling in her magical family and the proverbial runt of the litter. She contains not one iota of magic. Her family treats her as less than and fragile as she is aging just like a human. She's only 40, not eighty! But on the night of her 40th birthday party, everything changes!
Enter Paul, former cop and current paranormal investigate. He knows all about the paranormal after a baptism of fire with a werewolf friend of Tamara. Can he and Tamara break the curse that has been put upon Tamara's family?
OMW - I loved Tamara and Paul. The token humans (or human-like) take on the paranormal-like stars. It helps that Tamara is steeped in this world through her family. I must admit that I was kinda hoping her brothers and sisters wouldn't make it back - they were odious!
Running With the Devil by Mandy M. Roth
Patrick & Kerri have been together forever, literally since they were kids. But after they elope to avoid all the drama of his powerful political family, they are ripped apart. Kerri thinks it's because of her magic but there may actually be a larger problem lurking.
Fast forward a decade and a half and Patrick is on the run but his biggest problem is how to keep his former wife out of the line of fire from his family's dark past!
Patrick and Kerri's 2nd chance at love is lovely. I really enjoyed meeting all of Kerri's quirky friends and Patrick's less sleazy relatives!

Yasmine Galenorn's story Weaver's Web has January and Killian who are trying to escape the hustle and bustle of work. They take a mini vacation only to get drawn into a case. I loved the characters that were introduced and the world building. She never cease to amazing me with her writing.
The Invention of Magic by Aaron M. Cabrera is a new to me author but I loved Jinx and her imagination and love of magic. Jinx and her best friend Nick are very humorous. This was a cute story.
A Touch of Twilight by Christine Zane Thomas I thought was so very sweet. Eleanor “Nora” Thigpen was a teacher but she could also see and talk to the dead. When she comes upon a new spirit in the graveyard she walks through everyday, she realizes they're is someone she works with that she can help. But there is something even more going on that she needs to find out the who and why of it. Another new to me author but I enjoyed this so much.
My Big Fat Hairy Wedding by Robyn Peterman is a laugh out loud amazing read. Between the modeling in ice cold water to the bottom frozen face. It's a hilarious and fun story to read.
I enjoyed this collection and found new authors along the way. I like how we can finally read things with characters my own age.
This is an amazing collection of stories and I was very happy to have a story by an author that I love to read.
Weaver's Web by Yasmine Galenorn
This story was the main reason that I purchased this anthology. I love the series that this story is part of. It moves along at a great pace making for an easy and relaxing read. It has interesting characters that you feel as though you know and a story that will not disappoint. This is a must read story, you will not be disappointed.
Each of the stories in this collection are interesting and need to be read. You will not be sorry that you did.
Surviving Midlife (Milly Taiden) was a great age old story about a women giving everything to an unappreciative, controlling man and having to start over when he leaves her for a younger model. It was a well written, well developed story.
Running with the Devil (Mandy Roth)— secrets are never a good thing and can seriously ruin a life. While Kerri lives her life authentically, Patrick did not. When his secrets collide with her life things get very interesting.
“Aged to Perfection: A Magical Paranormal Women's Fiction Romance Collection” of short stories by nineteen authors featuring middle aged woman with paranormal powers who achieve their HEA. They are in the prime of life and proud of it. They did not disappoint! An amazing bundle of stories! The characters are entertaining, the plots are well written, enthralling and lots of humor and laughter. Life can be magical and enchanting. In Mandy M. Roth’s “Running With The Devil”, Kerri and her friends are hilarious and a wonderful read! Kerri is living with the love of her life, Patrick O’Sullivan and is content with her life until Patrick breaks her heart and leaves without a word. She struggles with the betrayal but moves on and opens her own magic shop. Then, years later, her true love returns and needs her help. He is being framed and she could be in trouble, too. The evidence points to him and she doesn’t know if, she can believe him. He reveals that he’s always loved her and only her. Also, he shares a deep, dark secret. Oh, Dear! She loves him but can she trust him with her heart, again? The story is a beautiful romantic story, filled with suspense, fast paced, many twists and turns and a page turner! Mandy Roth gives us a story that is well developed and skillfully written. These stories may be short, but they have a lot packed into them. It gives one a taste of these authors abilities and perhaps add a new author to your reading list! I truly enjoyed them!
I love the fact that we older women are seen as "aged" and "perfect" like a great wine! In Mandy M. Roth's Running With The Devil, Kerri and her friends are a HOOT! ( I've got to get me some of those unicorn panties ;) ) After the love of her life breaks her heart, she goes on with her life to open her own shop of magic. A high profile murder brings her one true love back into her life. He's saying he's being framed and he's there to save her, can she believe him even when all the evidence points to him? These stories may be short, but they have a lot packed into the details. I truly enjoyed them.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love these various books so much. It’s wonderful reading stories with women my age finding themselves and love. Add in mysteries to be solved and I’m hooked. I especially enjoyed the latest Nora Black story from Renee George and the new series by Kristen Painter.
