I have seen people comparing this series to Twin Peaks, and honestly, if I had seen that show or knew what it was about, maybe I would understand what had gone on this series. But I don't. I feel bad giving it 2 stars because it was good, entertaining and readable and the art is amazing but I just don't think I understand what has gone on in this series at all. It said to be continued at the end, so maybe if more issues come out I'll jump in but thinking back to this series, I don't think I can give you a cohesive plot summary at all.
2.75 stars for all 4 Lost Falls issues. (this last one was actually a 1 star. So it got worse the more I read this)
It was not 100% terrible but it wasn't good either...
A lot of confusion & unanswered questions that at this point I just don't care about. If more issues come out I don't plan on reading them. Don't have anything else to say tbh. Yea I guess it was bad then lol... ehh whatever haha.
Like Brubaker/Phillips meets Twin Peaks. Definite what does it all mean feeling to this opening salvo of Lost Falls.
Detective Pynchon finds himself suddenly in the town of Lost Falls where people have been going missing at a rapid rate. We follow him and the citizens of the town as things escalate quickly in these 4 issues that are not for the faint of heart or the impatient of plot development.
Cop & Isaac have lunch, Isaac tells him they’re scientists, castaways on a temporal sea searching for a way home; ghost girl pulls cop away to go stop Jay; in hospital blue eyes take sheriffs daughter, cop follows her & takes thing in him instead; evil of all history he feels, he prays light rescues him, he’s back…
This is just unwinding more strings when the others are still loose. No more patience for it. Not confident it’s going to come together well.
Good color artwork. Some black panels, but I guess this time it moves the story along. Lost falls is in the grip of deadly forces. As always I wish every issue was twice as big. Give me content or give me death.
Not the best ending. New things surface with a lot of unanswered questions. Carrying that Wayward Pines feeling of a story. The baptism of the falls was shown, but not really fleshed out. Which lead to a terrible ending of what's next in this town?
