Sometimes our greatest strengths come from our deepest challenges. I write magic and romance, starring a cast of creatures with feathers, fins, and teeth. My books include paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and fantasy romance--with the occasional steampunk or alien story thrown in just for kicks. My pan heart firmly believes love is love, so you'll see straight, LGBTQIA, monogamous, reverse harem, and poly relationships in my work. My favorite theme is overcoming our inner demons and the insecurities that hold us back.
I also advocate for self-development and mental health and dabble in non-fiction as time allows. I love the outdoors and still hope to be abducted by fae! (I may have more in common with my characters than I care to admit.)

Fun short story

Really enjoyed this one! And the trans representation in this was 😍. I loved the way the scenario was presented and how Nerissa was so kind and respectful, yet also so intrigued and aroused by it all! The vampire was 🥵. I actually learned a little bit while reading this so I really appreciate the author diving into this the way they did! 🫶🏼 My only con is the same as the 1st in the series, I wish we would have gotten a little more of the action described, but still a great novella. This series is definitely one that I’ll continue and recommend to others! 🤙🏼💕

Otherkin

I really am enjoying the short stories of the average escort. A trans character? I wasn’t necessarily expecting that (totally didn’t read the blurb and trusted the author that I would like this story) and it blew me out of the water of how good it was. Very steamy and very good. I changed my mind though, I don’t want to know more about the other escort. I’d definitely read a lot more stories with this FMC though!

Not my cup of tea

I don't have a problem with the trans thing but it doesn't do it for me. Should be a warning, I think. Or at least mentioned in the summary since it's a major part of the story. It's well written like the first but not as hot or spicy. More awkward, lots of stopping to ask questions or things like that so... Made it weird.

3.5 stars. A human escort’s second time on the job, this time with a trans vampire. This is the second book in the series, but I’m reading it third. I was impatient to get to the first f/f story in the series, and I looooove gorgons. But yeah, this one was really good too. Not quite as good as Gorgon, but probably better than Incubus.

I'm really enjoying my time with these short stories. They are intriguing, I'm really liking the characters and the overall moment with the client is fun. I'm curious to see what Nerissa does next. Her openness to the monsters is so refreshing and the bite-sized stories are lovely!

I am not trans so therefore I don't feel comfortable in saying that my opinion is one that matters, but I feel like this character was handled well. It wasn't made into a big deal and flowed easily in the story, and is hot as hell (not as a kink, but just because it's a steamy erotic short story). I will say that one thing I really appreciate about this author is the way they handle gender and sexuality and kink. Nothing is disparaged and nothing is looked down upon. It's a welcome change from most.

We learn a little more about the otherkin in this world as well as an overall story arc that seems that may span all of the little bite sized stories? I am excited to see where this goes!

I'm disappointed that the first book isn't available in KU, $4 is too much for a half hour read. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything important from the set-up in the first book but this stood alone well.

I'm really enjoying the idea of an escort to the supernatural. Nerissa is a normal girl-next-door, which is a bit of a niche in the escort game. Her latest client, Hayden, is a vampire whose usual donors are out of town, so this story was one you could really sink your teeth into. I'm impressed with the level of detail to the story for its length. I haven't read many stories with trans characters so I really enjoyed this little taste.

Originally read July 2022. Re-read January 2023 as part of my binge through the series.
It was just as good the second time through.
