Years after the terrorist takeover of her school, Daisy has moved on in her life. Living on her own in a dorm room in a college campus she is oblivious to a recent political uproar on campus after a local police shooting involving a white police officer and a black man at a traffic stop. Overnight, a civil rights protest turns the campus into the Central Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ. Communists and anarchist take over the zone and soon the struggle sessions of Mao’s China and trials start forcing those who don’t agree with the party to either take a side or disappear. With the mayor and police refusing to intervene Daisy is one of the few early on to realize she is on her own. Her only option, with no rescue in sight, is to escape from CHAZ.This is the second book in the Daisy series. Be sure to check out the first book in the series, Daisy.
