Three software professionals, getting out of the jobs from different scenarios meet on a common objective. Life unfolds on various manifestations and gives surprises when expected the least. A tale of sincerity, hope and compassion.
Sudarsan Nagarajan is a software professional and interested in writing books. His passion for writing stories began a decade ago and writes in his free time. His passion includes travelling, reading and cooking.
A debut book of Sudarsan Nagarajan is based on software experts who are done with their jobs and looking for new paths. However, the author manages to write a decent story, and the issues he raised are valid.
The narration is smooth without any grammatical errors. The main lesson from the book one can take is when one door closes, another door opens. So, all you have to do is keep your eyes open. All in all, it's a good story. I recommend it to newbies.
Corporate culture is characterised by uncertainty, tiresome work with little to no work-life balance, and intensive competition. Layoffs are a common sight in this culture which can put many lives on hold. However, how does one go past the setbacks is a key theme of this book.
We're Corporates by Sudarsan Nagarajan is a simple story of three young corporate employees who find themselves at the crossroads of life. They are compelled to take a critical decision that will transform their lives forever. One leaves a stable IT job to find a sense of purpose, another is thrown out of the company because of their attitude, and the last one is at the receiving end of the recession.
Destiny brings these three different people together to help each other. They hold each other's backs and walk in the direction of new energy and light. But how? Read the book.
We're Corporates follows a simple storyline that intends to bring out the reality of corporate culture. It sheds light on the fact that so many employees continue slogging solely for money. Passion is missing and so, there is monotony. There is exploitation, there is toxicity.
The story also elaborates on the themes of compassion, sincerity, family values, friendship, and hope. It shows how the end is not final. There is more to do after that 'end' arrives.
Through the three characters, Nagarajan attempts to paint a vivid picture of how a typical corporate employee's life looks like. Decent storytelling with a moderate paced narrative defines the readability of We're Corporates.
If you are a new reader who is excited to know about how one can win over hardships, you might give this one a read.
"We're Corporates " by Sudarsan Nagarajan is a tale of making a big switch in career and weaving back work life through determination by keeping hope as the founding stone.
The author, through the novel walks us through the stressful and challenging life of three corporate employees - Ajay , Suraj and Meghna. While Ajay quits his job, Suraj gets fired due to recession. Meghna is terminated due to her lack of interest in the job. Three of them, find themselves standing at the cross roads of life. The decision they make and how it impacts their life is thereafter portrayed.
This is the debut novel by the author and I loved the way he has portrayed the life of the corporates. While, the plot was good, I felt the characterisation could have been better. The stereotypical characters , like that of Meghna 's parents wanting to marry her off at an early age when she is clueless about her life's choices, didn't go well with me. Also, be it any kind of marriage, marrying for love is important than marrying because of force or for parents.
However, Suraj 's was an excellent story and I really loved it. He was such a hardworking person and loved the way story turned out. My most favorite part about the book was the ending of their life choices. It wasn't a cliche but I loved the way each character turned out . If you are looking for a good , easy read revolving around corporate world, friendship , hope and love, you should checkout this book.
__________________ This is a story that's pivoted around the fact that we shall never loose trying out new things and loose hope. Again it shows some harsh realities of life. Here in this fiction these messages are presented through the lives of three people who are software professionals. They are corporate like many of us. But life has something different things stored for them. One by one they all are laid off from their respective workstations. Here Ajay himself decides to resignate from his position instead of even consulting with his manager Rajan. Meghna is a beautiful looking smart lady but she is very lazy and doesnot put any effort in her career which results in her involuntary termination of her job. Another lad named Suraj is an expert computer programmer who won many certificates from his job but lately due to some internal desicions of the company even after his 100% efforts he gets laid off. Each of their background has been described. Here Ajay has a little baby girl whose future is now unknown. After meghnas termination of job her parents look out for prospective grooms. Suraj's family is now in big financial crisis even his father's pension amount is not enough to run the family. In such situations how will each remain determined about their dreams? How will they change their overall attitude towards the corporate world? What will bring changes into their individual personality and bring success their way? Their personal lives are also described. It is a story that shows the ups and downs of employees on corporate world and how they strongely face the reality but build a bright future.
The story revolves around the software professionals, Ajay, Meghna and Suraj, who got out of their jobs. Their purpose was to enjoy their work and not just keep on working mindlessly. Was it too much to ask? Filled with drama, corporate politics, family expectations it's a story of friendship, sincerity, hope and compassion.
I liked the storyline of the book, the way the author gave the gist of their lives and their thoughts. It's a story with a simple plot and intriguing narration. I liked the way the author described their situations, their spirit to never give up.
The writing style of the author is pleasant and honest. It has three parallel stories that will we excite you. It's a smooth paced story full of passion.
One could relate to Ajay, Suraj and Meghna well. The characters are well-developed by the author leaving an impression on your mind for a longer time.
I would have loved it if the author shared a bit more about Meghna's situations, her relationship and her bonds. Another thing I loved here is supportive parents.
The story takes off really well in the later part. I loved reading the second half of the story well.
It's a perfect blend of hard work, faith and a spirit of never going up. Witness the family drama, corporate politics and the friendship here.
We're CorporatesAs one of the proof-reader of this book i feel, its a good effort as a debut novel. Had shown the vision on the corporate world with three characters. As an engineer even i see myself as one of the characters portraid, which most IT people can feel it. The words are simple and easy-to-go like book. All the best my friend for this effort. Go on improving with your later novels.
▶An interesting story about corporate life, its ups and downs, and never losing faith in yourself.
• INSIGHT: We’re Corporates is based on three main protagonists—Suraj, Meghna, and Ajay. It is a well-knit story chronicling the lives of the three characters, the challenges they face in the software industry, and how they try to bring their lives back on track.
• REVIEW: The story begins with characters either losing their jobs or voluntarily resigning from their corporate jobs. Having been in the software industry for a few years, I could relate to the characters and their emotions. The software industry can be taxing and depressing at times, especially if you have an obnoxious manager. Moreover, I could feel for the character that lost his job despite being a successful employee. The characters are etched well, and their emotions and reactions feel genuine. I liked the way they come together and how the story develops from then on. The story was never too predictable, and some of the surprises brought a smile to my face. I also liked how the characters grow throughout the book; they learn their lessons and become better versions of themselves by the end of the book. The ending is also well done; it is satisfying and inspirational. The only drawback in the book is the grammatical and punctuation errors. The book is littered with them. At least two rounds of comprehensive editing were required to make this a better reading experience as far as the language is concerned. However, despite the grammatical errors, this is a good, inspirational read.
• STRENGTH: Well developed characters Good narration
• WEAKNESS: Too many grammatical and punctuations errors.
• TARGET READERS: Readers who are looking for inspirational read.
Layoffs in the corporate world is a common thing, some lost their jobs due to recessions, some for their own pleasure, some left the well-paid corporate world to feed their soul. With this ever-evolving job sector, employees tend to go with the flow or have to cut them off from the toxicity. We're corporates based on this common and important theme, which is threaded around 3 ex-corporate employees. One who left the corporate world to seek opportunity in a different field, one who gets fired for not going with the flow and the final one for recession. How these 3 protagonists collide with each other with the passing time and how their life gets changed with the help of one another is the prime focus of this story. . . Though the author has tried to make it sounds realistic, but somewhere in between, he failed to convert it. Due to its fast-paced plot, the storyline and the happenings seemed like an already served dish to the protagonists, which in real life is hard to find. Optimism and the hustle of getting something anyway make them go beyond their limit are worth-notable in the story which is the common intuition of humans. Apart from that, it has also focused on dilemmas and spot decision making. The author has done splendidly to portray the corporate life and toxicity in MNCs, not from a bird's eyes but an employee's eyes. Focusing on the theme of relationships and friendship and the people involved in these couldn't have been done better. As a whole, We're corporates is not so overwhelming, also not too bland like other books. If you are a corporate and want to compare your life with the characters of the book, then go for it. Others who want to check out how corporate life looks like can give it a read too.
🍷The storyline revolves around three ex corporates who are not corporates right for three different reasons. This is a very unique story which really brings out solid points and statements as you continue reading it. The corporate world is huge web and the author puts light on it in a very intresting manner, I loved how it's not very intense or overpowering but still manages to put things that need to be said. . . Now, if you are a new reader then you're sure to get along easier but for avid readers, I did expected a little more but what I really loved was the pace and storytelling. It has a good pace but it's not confusing, the language is smooth and the narration is quite well executed. We're corporates has its own objectives and I really loved how the story did a justice to them. A good storyline with an unpredictable plot, I will definitely think it's a good read. Go for it. . Rating: 4⭐️
I have never had the experience of corporate life and everyone has a different option on the corporation some people say they are really satisfied with their job and some are really disappointed and stressed because of their jobs. So I was never able to judge perfect but by reading this book I think I now have a more clear picture of corporate life.
Protagonists of the story Ajay, Meghna and Suraj are three software engineer who quit there jobs because they thought they weren't living and enjoying their life to the fullest they felt like mindless workers who were just completing their taske and they were not actually enjoying there job.
Author chose a really interesting plot for the book and I think many people would be able to relate to Ajay, Meghna and Suraj. Author's writing style is brilliant. It is a fast paced book you would really enjoy it the book is not unnecessarly stretched. Author did a really good job writing this book. I would recommend this book to everyone
Three software professionals, getting out of the jobs from different scenarios meet on a common objective. Life unfolds on various manifestations and gives surprises when expected the least. A tale of sincerity, hope and compassion.
This was a very relatable book, being working with corporate had both cons and pros like every other organisation or occupation. It unfolds a lot of drama and realities which one face on the way to the heights.
The story revolves around three software professionals: Ajay, Meghna and Suraj and more around their lives in corporate world. The lives of each one have been described in a detailed manner.
The initial message is that never loose hope, no matter what. This book conveys a beautiful moral message but at some points, it felt missing.
The cover page is simple and to the point. The title is intriguing. The people who ate working or planning to start working with corporates should definable read this book.
The story revolves around three software professionals Suraj, Meghna and Ajay. After getting out of their jobs they cross paths and well let's not get into the spoilers😂 I feel like it's a story about not giving up and portrays the toxic culture of corporate life. While it has a simple storyline I think keeping the story character driven would have made the book better because I personally didn't find it that character driven in the sense that while the book is mainly focused on the above mentioned three characters yet I wasn't completed emotionally attached to them. Part of the reason can be because of the way some of the conversations between characters are written. The book cover is simple and overall while I think it could have been improved its not necessarily a bad book and especially if you are from the corporate world you may check out the blurb and see if its something that interests you or even if generally the story is something you are interested in.
This book is a journey. It’s all about experience. This book gives you insights into the corporate sectors and how it deals with people.
The story unfolds the characters Ajay , Suraj and Meghna. Every place has a different culture. It becomes obligatory to accept those cultures. These haven't become very easy as well in software industries . These characters were going through a lot. And at the end they decided to quit to live their their life the fullest. Life unfolds on various manifestations and gives surprises when expected the least. A tale of sincerity, hope and compassion.
The story is simple. Language used is lucid. Fast paced narration makes it engaging. This is the debut novel of the author and it's much appreciated.
If you're looking for some light book then you might like it.
To get the meaning of the word "Corporate", I took a dip in the dictionary. Stating from the dictionary, Corporate means of or relating to a corporation. Whenever we learn or hear about corporate, we get a big corporation or a big company in our mind where many people might be working, bosses, managers, 10-6 office and many things like that. Corporate world just does end here. It has many things which we can never think about or even imagine of(only if a person has never worked or has been associated with a company).
About the story:- The novel "We're Corporates" is a simple story about the struggle of three people of the corporate world who are either thrown and dumped out of the company or they themselves resign from their job. Ajay is a young father of a girl child. He resigns from his post for he feels that there is much more than the corporate life. Even after a lot of persuation from his boss, he remains firm with his decision. He calls his wife, Krithika to give her the news of his resignation. As soon as she hears it, its as if all her treasures have been taken away from her. She starts crying and continously persuades her husband to take up another job as she fears of the loan they had taken and about the young girl she had just given birth but Ajay firm with his decision tries to make her understand but fails to do. He informs her about his future plans of writing various exams and taking up other jobs after passing the exam.
On the other hand, Meghna, a young girl in her early 20's is working in a software company. She is very good in her works and does her work in time. But this has lead to more pressures on her. The manager starts giving her maximum works due to which she spends her maximum time in her office and if she completes her assignment on time and decides to leave for home, she is again burdened with some more works. Its a regular office day and she is working in her office when her manager calls her in the meeting room. Unaware of his intentions, she goes on to meet the manager and the boss. But unfortunately she doesn't find her boss there. The manager on the other hand tries to touch her in a bad manner and take advantage of her. She runs away from there saving herself from his bad intentions. Frustrated from her corporate life, she doesn't go to her office for a week after which she is expelled from the company. She is happy about this but her parents are not. They ask her to take a new job but she declines their thought. At last with no choice, she is given 2 options either to marry or take up a new job.
The third main protagnist is Suraj, a hard working, passionate and confident software engineer. He works very hard which fetches him many recognition and rewards. He even goes to U.K. for a project where he stays for 6 months. But during the recession period, he is first who is thrown out by the company followed by many others. He loses his morale and is not able to cope up with the situation. He is so much disturbed by the action of the company that he does join any other company as he fears from another expulsion. His parents are too worried about his actions and fears of his future. Due to financial crisis, his father takes up a job. Suraj is very much hurt by this. He decides to do something but nothing comes his mind. On the beach, he meets a young boy. Talking to him for few minutes gives him a new energy to work with his passion.
Will Ajay be able to pass his examinations and get a good job? Will he be able to get rid of all the loans and make her wife proud of him? What will Meghna choose- Job in another corporate house or to marry as per the wishes of her family? What will happen when Meghna and Suraj will meet? How will they rise from nowhere to owner of a leading company? What happens at the beach when both of them meet accidently? What happens when the loan for the new company is not sanctioned by any bank ? How will Ajay help both the bestfriends in achieving their dreams? There are many more things that shall enfold in the story and will amaze you at certain times. I appreciate the author's efforts in bringing out the various atrocities that occurs and happens in the corporate world. But the thing which I didn't like were the grammatical mistakes and the no. of characters other than the protagnists. The no. of subordinate characters are too much which creates a lot of confusion. I would like to recommend the author that he must always take care of the grammatical mistakes as it takes away the beauty of the novel. Overall it is a good story with many things to learn such as 1. Never give up 2. We dont know what is coming in our way 3. Live your passion and many more. I would like to thank the author Sudarsan Nagarajan and Author Paradise for the review copy.
It’s a remarkable work by the author. It’s an inspiring fable. It describes beautifully the predicament of corporate professionals. Being an engineer, the book touched to the core of my heart. I RATE IT AS 5/5. It’s a must read for professionals. It’s a lovely book that throws light on the plight of developers in IT Sector. They are over-burdened with work. They are often paid less.
The story is about 3 people from corporates. The main character is Suraj, who joins an IT company after completion of his engineering degree. He is dedicated & passionate about his work. He works day in & day out for the company.
Ajay too works in an IT company. He decides to quit his job. After making a tough decision of quitting his job, he sits for IBPS.
Meghna is a girl who with lot of difficulties & hard-work completes her engineering degree. She is cloud nine when she gets recruited in one of the IT Company. But after working day in & day out for the company, she feels stuck. She faces the inhumane treatment from managers. She decides to leave her job & enjoy with her friends.
Ajay on the other hand, with his efforts clears the IBPS examination. Due to recession, Suraj is terminated from the company. Due to financial constraints his father starts working as Security Guard at an age after 60. Suraj feels bad for he worked relentlessly for the company & now he is fired from it. He decides to do something instead of joining another company. He now aspires to give job to people instead of seeking one. Will he be able to build a company despite of financial constraints? What role shall Ajay & Meghna play in his life? Can one come out from the trap of corporates? Nice Read. Had a lot fun reading it.
we' re corporates by sudarshan nagarajana is a catalyst novel , which will definitely encourage people to work hard for their dreams .the character's characterisation will set an example in front of you and will make you realise the importance of one's dream and the decisions you take in your life.. The author has wondefully scripted the characters , the story is simple yet catchy and will keep you hooked till the end ..the best of all is the motivational part and how it enlighten ones mind , this will definitely grab your attention..the blurb of this book actually makes the novel predictable..the language is simple yet catchy..though the story is some parts is quite predictable..
Negatives : this book lacks proofreading ..you can find editing issues in every second page..sentences are quite incomplete and punctuation and grammatical errors can be found.. Overall i would just like the suggest something to the author : when you portray a character, you just need to complete the characterisation, sideline characters part is something which creates confusion in reader's mind..
Overall it was nice .. It could have been a bit better , had it been edited properly..
