Reckless Pawn - book 2 in The Ivymore University series and my god does Charlotte go through a lot in it. It doesnt matter where she turns theres someone there that wants a piece of her to make themselves look good or feel good. So many people have their own agenda's working against her but closer to home Asher & Hudson came to an agreement. I liked that they got over their differences with each other to be there for Charlotte. Jaxson on the other hand got on my wick for the majority of this book. I just wanted him to grown the hell up!! Saying that towards the end of this book he started to redeem himself. Omg that ending though?? Bloody Brilliant. Im just loving this series so much

Book 2 does not disappoint! We catch up with Charlotte again as she struggles to move her life forward. With school, with family, with old friends and new friends, but mostly with the guys. Past choices have come back to haunt her, but the guys seem to have stepped up to help. When Charlotte needs protection, Hudson and Asher find common ground, while Jaxon finds himself trying to get back in her good graces. The four of them are pledging to houses, hoping to secure their future. Charlotte is also still dealing with her family situation. Book 2 provides lots of drama, lots of hot sexy times, and a twist I didn’t see coming. Can’t wait for book 3!

First of all, subscribe to her newsletter for the free prologue and read book 1. Everything will make so much more sense in this book. I loved Astrid’s series and love Charlotte’s just as much. I wish she was more truthful about things and was less prideful, but then it wouldn’t make for as good of a story. I can’t wait for her to bring these guys to their knees in book 3! And I also love how each character is progressing at their own pace and not in unison how some other bully romances are. This isn’t a book where one minute they are plotting against the main character in one chapter and in love with her in the next chapter. I am excited to find out who the common enemy is and how the MC plays into the story in book 3. I’m on the edge of my seat and ready for the next release day! I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. I have read all of Nora’s books and love her intertwined series and spin-offs.

I love Charlotte and how much she’s grown since being a side character in Astrid’s story. Asher has redeemed himself in this book and become Charlotte’s biggest protector. Hudson doesn’t seem like such an ass especially in the later part of the book but Jaxon still needs a bit of a personality transplant.

Book 2 sees Charlotte’s stalker escalating, Kurt still trying to accost Charlotte, Charlotte trying to pledge a sorority and Charlotte learning who her real friends are when it comes down to the wire. There are still plot holes that I can’t wait to see tidied up in the next book such as who Charlotte’s stalker is, who is Charlotte’s biological parent and will they play a part in her life. Will she stay at Ivymore and how will things play out with the three boys now that Charlotte’s not broke?

flip flops

It’s difficult to feel for the main character she’s soo wishywashy with her thoughts in the space of a page she speeds of the man she loves using her then flips to her need and want and love for him.
She thinks feeling sensible things that in a complete character twist will do something that goes against that. It’s really difficult to build a bond with her because of it.
The book like the writers others are good reads, this one I recommend but I really want to Charlotte, I feel she’s using the boys more than they her.
And why would the boys risk leaving her alone in an empty house knowing a stalker exists. Ahh I like this book but it really annoys me too. Happy reading

I like where this story could go and the storyline of her losing everything and starting over at college is good.
The characters seem to be a bit mushed and not sure of what they actually want.
Jaxon with the video and his feelings calling her names while at the same time wanting her and with Hudson I don’t know if he actually wants her or if it’s the bet and the Alpha frat pushing him.
She forgave Jaxon far too quickly and yes he was hurt trying for catch her stalker but what he did was just so wrong.
The thing at the end was unexpected but I feel Asher is pulling away because he doesn’t think she will want him now, Asher is my favourite of the men.

This one hit all the right notes for me. Charlotte continues to get mired in more crap between pledging a sorority and trying to find her way out of the mess with her stalker and Kurt. The guys in this one are some of my favorite from a NC read. They’re showing early on that they can grow and learn from their mistakes. They are taking advantage of the opportunity to work together and protect Charlotte from bigger threats. They’re absolutely not perfect, but they’re beginning to turn it around.

If you thought book 1 was awesome. Just wait till read this one. It gives us all these new things to figure out. Wonder if your first guess is still the same when we first started this series but the thing I loved the most was finally watching Charlotte and her guys finally get to that point of...yes I think we can make a go of it. I can't wait to read the next book. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

Conflicting

Charlotte is a conflicting character. She makes decisions that can harm her character with delusions that this is the only way. That is what makes this realistic in her age group girls tend to make bad decisions not realizing the other options. Will she be able to recover? Ends in a hook.

Nora Cobb got back on my great list with this book. A series that started with "more of the same" took a turn for the better. So many surprises in this book and a mix of good and bad things happening to Charlotte. The guys start to change for the better, too, and we get more surprises about the MFC's stalker. I'm more curious than ever. I need moooore!

still think Charlotte needs to man-up and get over herself

Charlotte is definitely not a strong FML, she is weak and always looking for someone else to protect her. She needs to learn to protect herself not to mention love herself so she can let others love her. I am wondering who her father and stalker is.

so good!!

I have to admit that towards the middle of the book I was losing a little bit of interest. I’m not sure what it was but by the the time I got 3/4 of the way through it was a page turner! I couldn’t put it down. Can’t wait until the last book!!

Love or Hate

That’s the question, does she love the men around her or does she hate them, because I know I have a love hate relationship with Charlotte.. As for this series it is so good that I’m looking forward to reading other books by this author..

You, know, I didn't really like the first series, not sure why I thought a spin off of characters I actively hated would be better.
I am done with this. I am on a Nora Cobb hiatus until she finds a new muse
