Mother nature came through his neck of the woods, tearing his land and the place he once called home right off the foundation, forcing him to live with just the basics, and barely that. Jake had lost it all. He found an old bus, which he gutted and painted black, and tucked it and himself into the woods on the outskirts of town. His nightly goals were digging for hidden treasures in neighbors' garbage cans. After all, one man's trash is another man's treasure, as the saying goes.
When a new family moves into the house next to his hidden property and begins to purge their belongings, tossing out several items, one object grabs Jake's attention. That object makes its way into Jake's makeshift home.
As he attempts to repair it, he finds his life taking a different path. What he didn't expect was what it would do to him in return.
This story really hit home with me. Jake was a man who had everything until he didn’t. He may have lost his way….but with the help of friends and a little “treasure” he found his way back. This story was beautifully written. The characters were heartfelt. I really didn’t want this one to end…and that ending, well played Jodi Fahey
I really enjoyed the character Jake, I think he was a interesting character and I enjoyed going on this journey with him. The story was well done and I hope there is more to the story.
