Wonderful BDSM Club story

This is the second book in this series of books that are centred around a BDSM club and I thought it was wonderful. The story starts out with the h getting a trip with expenses paid to the Private Island that has BDSM club as well as a separate Vanilla Resort, the only catch is that she has to give an on camera interview about the resort after she gets back. Unexpectedly she also has a special ticket for the BDSM part and she meets the H there. The H is one of the owners and they spend a lot of time together and there is some 🔥 and then eventually there is a terrific HEA at the end. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. One doesn’t really have to read the first volume, but it is a good idea to read it

'Temptation' is the first full book in Poppy Flynn's "Masters of Paradise" series. I read the prequel to this series, and it was a great way to get to know all the investors into this great resort. Each of them touched my heart in one way or another but none more than Ash Millington, the stock market whiz kid. His story knocked me to my knees … I just couldn't imagine anything being worse than that kind of guilt. And then being introduced to Lucy Bowe and reading her story was truly unbelievable. I don't think I've gotten to know two more deserving people to have a happily ever after than these two. Poppy Flynn put their journey on display and shared it with all of us. What an incredible journey it was. The Dom who had been shut away for so long and the innocent who had no idea that BDSM, much less any relationship, could contain that much focus and care. There are highs and lows in this story, of course, and there had to be an antagonist to stir the pot further, yet even with all this added to their pasts, their story literally shined through. I can't wait to see whose story is told next in 'Resurrection'.

This is the first book in a new series and overall I really enjoyed it. I appreciated the prologues since it gave so much insight into the mindset of each character and where they're coming from. I liked the interaction between Ash and Lucy, particularly that in a world full of erotic stories, this also has a great relationship build. I also liked that it wasn't a case of a 2 week holiday and starting a life together but that things happened which allowed each of them to consider just what they want.
While I did really enjoy this book it wasn't without flaws. Personally, I liked the extended lead in at the beginning with the characters backstories, but I can see that others could find this an extended period of not much happening. While the setting was nice, it's hardly original as I've read at least two other series with similar settings. I understand that with the first book in a new series the author wants to at least introduce the characters that will bulk out the rest of the stories, but do we really need to know straight away who everyone is, what they do and who they're with/not with? Also, without giving any spoilers, there was drama regarding Ash while at the resort which I would have like explored more, particularly in the current environment.
Even with these points, I really did enjoy this book and am looking forward to more from this author.

What a great story! I was hooked from the start. Lucy won a two week stay at the Eden Resort due to her sister Sophia entering her in the contest. Life takes an enjoyable turn once she meets Ash who she
thinks is an employee there. Their time together there is hot as Lucy discovers there is more to the resort than the vanilla part she was first introduced to. Club Iniquity is the BDSM section of the opposite side of the island and it's an eye opener for Lucy. Ash sees her wide eyed reaction to what she witnesses and takes her in hand to smooth over her reception of the kinkier side of the island. Both Lucy and Ash have heartbreaking pasts they need to heal from and they are each the exact balm the other needed. After each has lived through their past lives of devistation, dread, fear and heartache they find joy with each other, along with some very hot sex. I adored the first installment of the Masters of Paradise, the Eden Resort and Club Inequity on Elysian Island and looking forward to each new story as they are published. Poppy Flynn has a new fan with me!!!

This is the first (or maybe the second?) story about one of those fantasy BDSM clubs popular in this genre; this one set on an island in the Caribbean. I was a fan of Ms. Flynn's previous BDSM series (Club Risque) so thought I'd try this story about two wounded people who decide to risk their hearts again.

Short Version: Well, that was disappointing.

Long Version: In terms of positives, the only things I can say are that the characters are likeable; the BDSM acts consensual (by and large) with some detail; and the couple does share more than just sex.

There are so many negatives that I'm going to limit myself to the three most important:

1) Info-Dump: I get that authors need to world-build at the beginning of a series, but overwhelming your readers with names and professions isn't the way to do it -- particularly when said names and professions are indistinct and instantly forgettable.

2) All Tell And No Show: Pretty much describes the last third of this book, which was just one long narrative.

3) Flat Characters: There was nothing particularly interesting about Ashe and Lucy (other than their spectacularly bad taste in romantic partners -- so bad that you have to question their intelligence). Perhaps realizing this, the author shovels in so many clichéd generic tropes to create artificial conflict that it was laughable. (?) And issues that could have caused conflict (Ash's ) are never revisited.

2 1/2 stars. I don't know if I'll read the rest of the series. And, seriously, who has sex with someone they've just met without a condom?

Exploring a secret and blooming back to life

Temptation is the first book in the new Masters of Paradise series. This first book sets the world that the series is placed in....a private Caribbean island BDSM resort. This story is about Lucy and Ash, who both have painful and heartbreaking pasts. Lucy was married and they were trying for a baby. But each time she was pregnant she had a miscarriage. On the third one her a$$ of an ex filed for divorce when she was in the hospital. Ash had been happily married and they had a daughter. But he lost both of them in a car accident after he had argued with his wife. When Lucy wins an all-inclusive vacation at a private resort she is ready to relax and enjoy herself. She ends up enjoying herself a lot more than expected when she finds the private BDSM club. That is where Ash sees her and he knows that he wants to have her. Lucy is intrigued and open to exploring so Ash offers to guide her through some exploration.
This is a "lite" BDSM book and more about the club and characters. The story is enjoyable and entertaining and I liked the characters. i am looking forward to reading the next in this series.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

Lucy is chosen the winner of an all-inclusive island vacation after being entered by her sister for the prize. Two weeks in paradise, and the only catch is a TV interview about her time there. After a couple of days there, Lucy wanders over to the kink club side of the island, where she meets Ash. Sparks immediately fly, the likes of which neither has encountered. Both are wary of relationships after failed marriages, and knowing they are on borrowed time, decide to take advantage of the time they have together. When she leaves for home, not having had the chance to exchange contact information, both fear it is the end of what was a beautiful, if brief, interlude.
This is a wonderfully written book, with two deeply damaged main characters who find each other once, and then again when all hope seems lost. Their HEA is lovely, and the next book in the series is set up nicely. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, and cannot wait for the next book.

I received an advance review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

What a great new series with so many intriguing books to come!
Ash and Lucy had both been hurt deeply in the past. Neither of them is looking for romance but fate has another ideas...
After winning a competition for an all inclusive holiday in a fancy resurt, Lucy is surprised to find out that part of the resort is kink club. Ash, who is one of the owners, assigns himself as her chaperone for damage control. But slowly it becomes clear that what's between them is so much more!
Lucy and Ash are both damaged souls and trust is not easy for both. But what started as a Holiday fling becomes a deep and moving love story.
It was nice meeting Ryan, Zoe and Luca again after being introduced to them in Poppy's short story "More" , and I got a kick out of having Logan and Max from EJ Frost's Daddy PI" series briefly brought into the story.
Great first story in what about to become a great series.

This is the first story in a new series that is shaping up to be as good and varied as Club Risque - with some characters even having a tiny appearance. The setting is a tropical island and the cast of characters are the investors in the enterprise. First is Ash, a retired financial whiz, who is basically hiding from the world in order to lick his wounds after some devastating blows. When he meets Lucy, who is no stranger to being kicked in the butt by life, the attraction is there from the beginning. She is completely new to the lifestyle but curious. It is that combination that calls out his DOM instincts and their scenes as he introduces her to his world are super sensual and moving. It was great to see them get a truly happy end that is also the beginning of the next book, featuring Lucy's sister. Fantastic start and I look forward to the contination of the series!

I greatly enjoyed this first book in a new series for Poppy Flynn. We start with a background for both Lucy and Ash that is pretty sad. Ash loses his wife and daughter to a car crash after having an argument with his wife and Lucy's husband files for divorce while she is in the hospital recovering from her third miscarriage.

We move to the present when Lucy wins a vacation at the resort that Ash and his friends have built on a private island. Lucy wanders in to part of the resort that she wasn't meant to see, a private BDSM club that is run by RACK (risk aware consensual kink). She is shocked, but intrigued. Ash volunteers to be her guide and the two of them find themselves falling for each other. Of course, there are obstacles to overcome, but there is a HEA for them. The author also clues us in to the next several novels in the series.

This is a great read. It is sexy, steamy and a whole lot of fun to read. I loved the setting, the resort sounds fantastic and I look forward to revisiting that in future books. I love the idea of the divide between the underworld and the paradise for tourists.
The lead characters are engaging and endearing. You want them to find a HEA and you will be rooting for them from the beginning. The journey of discovery that Lucy goes on is really beautifully written and is very empowering. I love stand-alone, series linked books because you get to experience the world and lifestyles within them without cliffhangers. The side characters in this book were amusing and intriguing so I’m already excited to read more in the series.

A good introductory story

Temptation is the first in a new series from author Poppy Flynn. It is a light story that touches on the tragedies the hero and heroine have went through before they met on a tropical island resort that has its own secret temptations.
While this story includes BDSM, heartbreaking loss, deception, sow, humor, it does have a HEA and the unknown of another story in the next book in the series.
It’s is not a heavy BDSM theme, it touches on so,w of the topics. This author does have the promise to become a very talented story teller as she progresses in this genre.

I enjoyed this story. The plot was interesting. The BDSM is not hard core and is a good intro for folks dipping their toes into this genre.
Lucy and Ash are two people who are trying to recover from the betrayal of their exes. Ash is a Dom and Lucy is vanilla. However, an oversight in Lucy's all inclusive stay at the island brings her to the BDSM club Iniquity where Ash has to do damage control. Though they know their relationship cannot go beyond her 2 week stay, their hearts didn't get the message.
There is an HEA.
My only complaint is all of the typos. Hopefully, this will improve as the author continues the series and gets an editor or at the very least a proof reader.

This is the first book I read by Poppy Flynn. It took reading a few chapters before I started to get involved in the story. I thought the story line was unique and the characters well written, realistic, and likeable. The struggles that both Ash and Lucy went through with their first marriages were heartfelt and they truly deserve a happy future. If you enjoy reading a light BDSM with a HEA this is a recommended read.

This was a fantastic book! I wonder if there are really islands that host a kink club? That would be awesome! This story has such an emotional journey for these two characters.
Exciting and strong off the charts chemistry makes for a beautiful tale of two hearts. There is so much steam in this book you might get your fingers singed!

This is a really interesting read. I loved both sad and lost Ash and hurt Lucy. Their connection is electric. The storyline brings the reader into the world of BDSM as we are educated along with Lucy. All the characters are well done, real and rounded. I am now going to look for the next one in this enthralling and enjoyable series. And am facing another night of lost sleep.

Loved it..

I always look out for more books that base BDSM as a premise...this story has a whole Island. The principal characters both have suffered heartache, so finding new love takes them on a journey of discovery. A must read.

Good book

This is a good book. The characters don't spend half of the book trying to find an excuse to not love each other.
