I think author should decide about what this series is about. It's about Japan culture, it's about dungeon exploring or is about cooking. Now it's average on everything.

And i know that cooking is somehow forte of every single man in Japan, mostly because it very easy for author to do "research" and copy recipes from cooking book. But even that is repetitive, with the same description of reaction for every dish they have. It's author taking it easy and it just boring.

Now for the story. First we have bad guy, who just have to be evil for evilness sake and his whole existence screams "I was created to be beaten by good guy".

Oh and that whole new character at the end and whole "saving" is just taken from nowhere. I wanted to give 3 but now when i think of how this whole thing was executed i just give 2.

I have loved earlier volumes of this series, appreciating how they mix slice of life with chill adventuring. This, the fourth volume felt a bit lacking. At times it was confusing and hard to follow but for the most part it just felt bland.

My thoughts on "Welcome to the Welcome To Japan, Ms. Elf!" (日本へようこそエルフさん。) Volume 4

Written by Makishima Suzuki
Art by Yappen
Translated by Hiroya Watanabe

The story:
Kazuhiro, Mariabelle, and Widra spend this volume exploring and fighting in the dungeon, meanwhile, they start planning a vacation to grimland (aka disneyland).

Enjoyment:
it was very fun to read but in comparison to the last volume it was really a very big letdown, I didn't feel the usual character development and the entirety of the volume was pure action there wasn't the usual "big" japan trip this volume so it felt a little lacking.

The verdict:
It was good, not the best and definitely the worst volume so far, the fact that I don't have that much content to write this review really goes to show how uneventful I felt this volume. 6/10

Ooh the suspense!

As always, this series is slow to start, but it's slow in a good way. I hope Zarish lives up to my expectations as a villain. I would hate for him to lose his nerve after that ending. Can't wait for the next volume. Keep an coming!

Feel like the series is starting to find its stride. More casual isekai here. A bit light on the reverse isekai compared to previous volumes. Some new characters both annoying and some interesting.
