Join imaginative ninjas Wes and Georgie as they chase down Wes’s stolen lost tooth in this Level One I Can Read book with text by N. D. Wilson and charming art by Forrest Dickison.
Wes’s first tooth just came out—and now he’s lost it outside! The only way he and his best friend Georgie can find the tooth is if they imagine they’re both ninjas. But a sneaky bird stands in their way!
Hello, Ninja! Goodbye, Tooth! is a Level One I Can Read book, which means it's perfect for children learning to sound out words and sentences. Whether shared at home or in a classroom, the short sentences, familiar words, and simple concepts of Level One books support success for children eager to start reading on their own.
When Wesley loses his first tooth he wants to donate it to Captain Dart for her time machine, but getting the tooth to the Captain proves to be an adventure requiring the skills of ninjas. Good thing he and Georgie can be ninjas!
This was quite the imaginative and adventurous tale, and not the average lost tooth tale at all. Wesley has such a kind heart and instead of being obsessed with what he can get from losing his tooth, he’s very eager to see how he can use it to help others. He’s got a sweet, unselfish heart, and it is very refreshing.
Wesley loses his tooth and this leads him and Georgie on a funtastical adventure. At first Wesley is out to get his tooth and hopefully sell it to Captain Dart for money that he can use to buy mom or dad something really big (way too big for what money he would get). But when getting his tooth back becomes a quest of unforeseen challenges, Wesley has a change of heart and chooses to give his tooth away instead.
This was a fun and imaginative story with a dragon as a supporting character added to the mix. I always enjoy these stories that show how fun pretend play can really be.
Fun Twist on a Tooth Tale closer to Level 2 reading
An enjoyable tale about a lost tooth. The illustrations are on par with cartoons. The colors are vibrant and the characters engaging. I would say the reading level in my opinion is closer to Level 2 reading. There are some more complex sentences a beginner reader or someone struggling to read might find challenging.
