I will say that the English needed more editing but I also expected it knowing it isn't the author's first language, so it didn't bother me and I read on hoping the story and characters would be at least decent. Sadly, the main character already starts off right away spewing misogynistic cliches about her flatmate (of the promiscuous and sex-worker-phobic type). I read on hoping it would be addressed, but no, she keeps repeatedly falling back on these notions and insults every time she freaks out about her attraction for her flatmate. I did not understand why her flatmate was in love with her at all: she is immature (especially for a 28-29yo) and whiny and jealous and hurts people when she can't deal with her feelings. The flatmate being 22yo and extremely patient with her tantrums makes it even more problematic, especially when nothing in the story shows anything but self-centredness from the main character, nothing showing her to be supportive or nice to anyone at any point.
I can't even say that at least it was short, since it means a lot of the story is rushed. Like we get boyfriend suspicion on day 1, and HEA on day 9 or 10.
Start with a supposedly straight roommate with a dodgy boyfriend add in a lesbian who is not looking for a relationship. Throw in straight girl finds out supposedly wonderful boyfriend is using her. Straight girl is not that straight. It us a romance novel so the unlikely is possible. Its a good read and there is an HEA
Fantastic story I loved the main characters their journey through it all flowed great for a quick read definitely worth it couldn't put it down congratulations
This story had a lot of potential. I decided to read it even though it had a one star review. The title itself captured me and the storyline was decent. There were grammatical errors and references made that sort of pulls the book apart. It needed a little more substance in definition to the characters. Plus there wasn’t enough time to get to know your characters. However having said that, the writer has some really good ideas and just needs a little polish. Everyone needs a chance.
