I’ve been on the run for years. I never had a reason to take a stand. Not until I met her.
She’s in trouble when I first meet her. A damsel in distress. I can’t stop myself from rescuing her, and I lose my heart in the process.
I find out everything I can about the girl. She’s a survivor. A warrior. Raising five siblings on her own, kicking butt, and looking great doing so.
I set a plan in motion to make her mine. But when she finds out the truth about who I am and where I came from, the house of cards I built falls to pieces. I’m going to have to come clean and clear my name once and for all.
The question is, even if I can fix the past, am I good enough for an angel like her?
Jaken is a standalone novella that fits into the Untouchables MC universe. It is a safe read with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA! Enjoy.
Joanna Blake loves good old fashioned romance, men who open doors and work with their hands. Hot Blooded Heroes is a series of sizzling stories about True Blue American men and the women who love them. She's thrilled to be collaborating with Pincushion Press on her new series! Come along for the ride! XoX, Joanna *********
The narrator on this RMR podcast was kind of annoying and I was disappointed that the end didn't include her 5 little siblings. Overall it was kind of dull and I wasn't all that impressed.
Jaken is the seventh book in the Untouchables MC series, but could be read as a stand alone. Jaken knows as soon as he sees Colleen that she will be his, but the more time they spend together, the more he realizes that he needs to stop running from his past. Will Colleen look beyond his past and open her heart for the man she can’t stop thinking about?
Ohh, this book was so good, fast-paced, and I loved reading it! Jaken and Colleen were perfect together. I liked their connection and their passion, and I liked how they both supported each other! Colleen had the biggest heart, supporting her siblings and constantly putting others above her own needs, but I also loved that she didn’t shrink away from going after what she wanted when it didn’t interfere with her family. Jaken was patient with her, full of desire, but I loved that everything he did was only to put Colleen first. Their relationship was the focus of this book, but I also loved seeing other characters from this series shine through. You can really see how these men and women all help each other and become a true family. I loved this book! It was a quick read, full of romance and passion and family and love!
I wasn't sure whether to give this 3 or 4 stars. As usual, I am going with being nice to an author. They put the time and effort into writing, editing, proofreading, publishing, etc. So, kudos to them. As for this book - I truly loved the beginning books of this series. Preacher was my favorite. The more recent books just feel short. Maybe they are the same length. I didn't really check. Regardless, so much of the book was dialog and sexy time between characters from previous books. Revisiting old characters is nice if it isn't half the chapters in the book.. Colleen and Jaken were just part of this book, not really getting a whole story of their own. I did like the premise of their story, but I really wish they were more fleshed out as characters on their own with a more detailed plot. I really would like to read books like the first few.
Jaken has taken the fall for his brother’s crime. Now he is half way around the world in exile. He is a bartender. But he must go back and make this right so he can be the man Colleen deserves. Because he fell in love at first sight. He ends up helping Colleen fight off three bikers from The Hell Raisers. Colleen is raising her five siblings since she turned sixteen, due to circumstances with her father. She works at a hotel as an event planner. Plus, she is taking a class each semester online. She’s also trained in self-defense, and is good at it. It was a pleasure to read about these two characters. Jaken is such a good guy, and of course, Colleen is a great woman, even if she is naïve. It’s a great love story from beginning to end. All the main characters show up in this story, which was great, as it was entertaining. I’m so glad Joanna Blake decided to write Jaken’s story. I was totally elated by it.
I feel like this should have been a special novella for the past characters in the series, because of this I lost interest in Jaken and Collen. We only got surface leve details their life and relationship. She's supposed to be the oldest of 6 and taking care of her siblings but we only hear about 3 of them. Everyone keeps saying poor Jacken has been through enough as if we are supposed to feel sorry for him but the way his past was told to us didn't make me feel any connection to him. Overall I think it would be a fine book if the reader has read all the other books in this series and know going in its not really Jaken and Collens story.
I thought this was a very good read. Jaken and Colleen's story was cute, steamy and sweet. These two were easy to like and I loved their chemistry and the feels they gave me. They both had my heart just aching. There are a lot of character cameos in this book which is fun and when it is a series I love I'm always excited to see. The pacing is fast here and I have to say that I do wish we had gotten a deeper look at these two and had been able to really explore their story and watch their relationship evolve. I still felt it was quite enjoyable but was left wanting more. I am independently posting an impartial review.
Jaken a hugely attractive guy, a fiercely loyal friend has lived in the shadows for years on the run from the law for a crime he did not commit. Between her job at a hotel and the sole carer of her siblings since she was 16 Colleen has never even had a boyfriend is sweetly innocent When Jaken lays eyes on her he is instantly attracted and sets out to learn as much as possible about her. With the help of the ladies from the Untouchables Jaken sets about wooing Colleen, she may have struggled in the past being on her own but she is about to find a whole new family support network who are ready to make her one of their own.
I just finished reading Jaken by Joanna Blake . I loved it right from the first chapter . I loved how he knew that he loved her right from the beginning of the book . And he wanted to make sure that he was the right man for her and how he was willing to go back to fix his life so that way she would love him . I also enjoyed how he stood by her side when he little sister was in the hospital. I also really enjoy how we can catch up with the other characters as well from the previous books . It’s was definitely an amazing read . I can’t wait to read more from Joanna Blake and catch up with the characters agin . I’d definitely give this book 5 stars .
This is a great addition to the Untouchables series. I have been waiting to hear Jaken’s story for a long time. This book allows us to revisit our favorite characters while still following the story of our H and h. I would have liked to have gotten more of Jaken’s back story, this was a character I have been waiting a long time to have his story. There was so much opportunity here to develop both characters, instead I felt this was more a book the author is using to set up the characters for the next book in the series. I received an ARC copy of this book for my honest review.
This book brings us Jaken and Colleen. Jaken witnesses some men trying to hurt Colleen and he stepped in to protect her. There was just something about her that captured his heart instantly. Colleen is working hard to raise her five siblings, which leaves her little time for herself. Jaken wants to just do that - take care of her. He goes very slowly with Colleen as she is inexperienced, which he admires. He, however, is keeping a secret and is afraid that once the secret is revealed, Colleen will want nothing to do with him. This was a great read and I highly recommend it. I did receive an arc for an honest review.
Jaken is a novella in the Untouchables MC series. It picks up after Hunter's wedding. Jake was already smitten with Colleen, the wedding event planner. How they get to their happily ever after is very romantic. Everyone is rooting for him to have true love. His MC brothers and their wives demonstrate their loyalty to Jaken by helping him get the girl. There are a few bumps but seeing two well-deserving people find love makes for a great story. From the ending, it seems Vince may be next.

This time Jaken meets the love of his life, Colleen, while she is fending off some bikers, he is impressed and can't seem to get her out of his mind; he goes to great lengths and finds her and inserts himself into her life. I loved the journey of them getting to know each other, he included her family - and treated her like a queen. She had a hard life, and wasn't quite sure of his actions - but went with it - so glad she did. The outcome was great, fun and satisfying.
I thoroughly loved reading this book. Finding out about Jakens past and why he was so secretive about everything. Colleen had the most patience of anyone I know. Raising all of her siblings since she was 16. Finding love where they found it was really odd....but it worked. Loved Loved Loved that Preacher made an appearance too (thank you). Anyone who reads this and did not enjoy it----something is definitely wrong with them. Can not wait for the next book of hers comes out.

This was a sweet, short read. Colleen is supporting and raising her younger siblings while holding down a job and taking classes. She gets into a bit of trouble when she's hassled by some bikers. Jaken sees this and steps in to help, even though she's pretty tough and holding her own. From there, Colleen and Jaken's relationship grows closer and I thought it was very sweet. We also get some visits from past characters which is always fun. Overall a good read!

Title: Jaken Author: Joanna Blake Format: Audio Narrator: James R. Cheatham Genre: Romance, MC, Single Mom (figure) Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Book 6.5 of The Untouchables series POV: Jaken, Colleen Steam Level: Slow burn 4/5
I listened to this audiobook on the Read Me Romance podcast. I've heard of Joanna Bliake but I'm not sure if I've read her before. Jaken was short and seemed like it could be a prequel. That said, it doesn't feel incomplete, more like just the beginning.
Jayne had been around the Untouchables watching each brother fall for their women now he has found his own and brothers have brought him into the fold. He will do anything to make her life easier and make her his. Recommend this book, author and series. The only reason for the 3 stars, as this was completely rushed in my opinion. There was so much that the author could have written about, but she didn’t. With the way it all was, things fell short for me.
Meeting Colleen put life into perspective for Jaken having been on the run, he wants to settle down and Colleens the woman for him, she strong willed and been through a lot raising her siblings, but when their life seems all happy and set does Jakens past through a spanner in the works. well written short fast paced desire filled, a great addition to the series.

Jaken and Colleen meet when she is fending off three bikers and he steps in to help. It is a case of love at first sight for Jaken. He doesn't feel worthy of her due to some trouble back home. Colleen has custody of her five siblings and works hard to provide for them. I enjoy having previous characters pop in with their point of views on the current couple.
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
This was an entertaining story but not very long. Both Jaken and Colleen have had a tough life in different ways. Jaken had to move away from family and friends to a different country while Colleen had to become an adult with responsibilities at a very young age. Jaken doesn’t like to see how Colleen has to struggle to keep up with raising her siblings, working, and going to college. With the help of his biker family, they both learn to love and rely on each other.
I thought that this was a good book. Jaken and Colleen's story was on the sweeter side and not as in depth as the other characters but still good. I did enjoyed the connection and chemistry between these two. Even though both Jaken and Colleen have been through a lot, they are able to get an HEA together. I did enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.

Jaken aka Patrick O’Neal. He fell in love with Colleen the moment they met. She is a very strong heroine who independent and took on the role as a mother figure for her siblings. They way she and Jaken meet is what hooked me that I was going to love her. This was a great read, definitely recommend it.

Jaken meets the woman of his dreams then has an identity crisis because he has been living a lie for a very long time. I love all the different points of view, seeing how everyone views him and Colleen. Colleen is sweet and pure-hearted, getting by and raising her family. She and Jaken are exactly what each other need. I really like how patient he is with her, not wanting to push too hard.
Joanna has done another great book in this series. It was actually a sweeter book than I thought it would be, but I still really liked it. Jaken and Colleen together are so perfect. Jaken was hooked on Colleen from the moment he saw her. The only thing I would’ve liked is, for a bit of a longer book, but Joanna still ended it perfect.
I really enjoyed this quick read! And it was great to see Jaken get his HEA! I enjoyed the storyline a lot and it was a lot sweeter than I thought it would be. But I really liked that it was. I really enjoyed getting to get some more backstory with the other members and their women. Overall it was a great read and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.
Jaken had been on the run from his past and had no intention to stop running until he met his love of his life. With help of us biker family the untouchedables. Collen The single mother of her siblings and his past behind him able to have what they both need each other and family.
This is a short and sweet story that's good through the main characters and the other supporting characters. I do find the shifting viewpoint in the chapters slightly disconcerting as I'd prefer to read the story through the main characters as there's no real depth to the story. It is however a sweet read with an interesting storyline that could be been so much more
Jaken first saw Colleen at Hunter's wedding and knew she was the one for him. I enjoyed their story and really like how the author includes all the Untouchables and their wives in this story. A great read!!
I love the Untouchables MC, so it’s always nice to see my favorite characters again (Mason is the ultimate book boyfriend!!) I was so happy to see Jaken get his happy ever after with Colleen.
