Dino Island #3

The Dangerous Harem

Rate this book
Well that got messy quick.

Could you handle yourself in a fight between four gorgeous women and a pack of dinosaurs?

I thought I could.

I thought I did.

Then a mysterious group of vicious jungle men attacked us. Now it’s a three-way battle among Jurassic predators, violent rogues, and my group of college co-eds. And things are about to get much, much messier.

Because neither the dinos nor the men have any idea what these women are capable of.

And those women expect me to keep up with their needs.

It turns out they’re insatiable.

But hey, I’m not complaining.

And if I can find enough ammunition for our AR-15 and shotgun, we’ll be set to live another day.

Warning: this novel contains graphic sex, violence, and risqué harem arrangements. It is written for adults only.

So bad it's almost funny. Plot is absolute nonsense, characters are one dimensional stereotypes, awful dialogue and writing doesn't even make sense half the time. Someone should buy the author a dictionary as they seem to think a lot of the words used mean something different than they actually do. This is assuming it's an actual person. The book is full of so much nonsense I suspect it's AI written, as are many of the 5 star reviews.

I just... what.. did I read? Melons and "White Manner" ... and SO MUCH "yellow" snot, etc... and really, no erotica in sight. I don't know why I gave it 2 stars.. I've lost my mind.

Ha, no point even rating this one as it served its purpose and was what it was meant to be. Read it for a Backroom BOM Monthly Buddy read and we had fun with the discussion questions and answers. It's hard to beat such literary gems and lines. Jungle Men, Raptors, a T-Rex, melons all over the place. I won't explore the other books in this series without a BOM Reason, think this manly book is more aimed toward young male dream fantasies of the way things should be why they reign as the king of the jungle. Or beach sometimes with lost of sands. Whatever. And hand sanitizer all over the place!

While I laughed so much during the first section of this book, I was soon back to being annoyed. Especially when the author tries to lecture and explain certain thoughts and actions of the characters. And no, those explanations neither help, make things any better when reading or even remotely make sense at times. So much misogyny, lack of consent, ridiculous plans that made me pull my hair out and oh the logic.. the logic went straight out the window this time. I think it really has fled for good with this installment!

The things we read for a laugh and reading challenges :-p

1.5 stars barely, rounded up.

Well I can't say that this series gets better over time. This was pretty ridiculous and with more of a return of sex happening at the randomest of times. Of course our "Hot Prof" is irresistible to these women and well apparently consent only goes one way...

There's a little bit of a plot in that this time around Jessica's been kidnapped and taken by the awful strange sort of cavemen sort of modern men. Everyone else is off to the rescue, that is if they can focus long enough with all Hot Prof's staring off into space everytime he gets a sexy thought, which is about every other minute. There's a decent amount of action even if all of it is just not physically possible or even really plausible for the most part. I mean, someone build a pair of shoes out of leaves or something! *sigh* I'm sure if the series comes up again for a Backroom BOM I'll probably read it for the points. But, I don't feel the need to return anytime soon.

Illogical throughout with no consistency to sizes and how things relate to each other.

There are some great gems of writing that are truly amusing, but there is way more cringe worthiness here. Apparently, men do not need to consent to what little sexual activity takes place, dinosaurs are easy to kill, and bras can conceal gun clips and hunting knives with ease. For you to consider, one of the better lines: "With a sound like swishing water and Scotch Tape,..."

At this point, I am not sure what I have just read, and my brain literally hurts!

Let's be clear I only read this book to help gain points for my Tower Team challenge, the plot is ludicrous and not even a plot really just utter nonsense. But I will give it one star for the cover which I quite like. I am sure the author was on mushroom whilst writing it!

I hate to give small-time authors a 1-star rating. But... wow. This was really bad.
I'll leave you with this amazing quote:

"She moved her untested eighteen-year-old body over mine, her need sated but her instincts still developing, the bond was far better than any highly experienced woman could give: we connected with humanity"

Not too sure about this one, it was a bit of a slog. Too much introspection and Hogan waxing poetic, bad guys that are actually really tame, unrealistic, illogical feelings and behaviors totally out of character. Despite the many flaws I'll read the next volume but hope it's better than this.

Wow just wow! If it wasn’t for the discussion in the NBRC backroom for BOM I would have given up on it in the first few pages. The discussion was hilarious though much more entertaining than the book

Terrible book. Not even laughable. Only finished because of NBRC Backroom BOM buddy read. Never going back to this author or book series.
