Excerpt
“Hey Baby.”
I kissed my sweetheart’s cold forehead allowing the tears to escape my eyes and stream down my flushed cheeks.
My emotions were all over the place as I stared down at my one true love’s body lying in the cream and green colored casket.
“I can’t stay long Baby. I don’t like to see you like this. I wanted to remember you just the way you looked the morning before all this shit happened. I want to visualize that same morning, when you made passionate love to me. The same morning you asked me to be your wife.”
Closing my eyes, I put my hand on his chest and prayed, for his soul to rest in peace, and for mine that was becoming overwhelmed with vengeance.
“They locked the bitch up that shot you and her trial begins soon. I promise you this, if she doesn’t see justice in the courtroom, she will surely face street justice by the hands of yours truly.”
Giving him one last kiss, I closed the casket and placed the beautiful handmade lei’s created with white orchids on top.
My heart ached deeply as I walked away. I knew that I would never see his face again.

Fast And Slow
This book was going fast then it started to get slow. Just when I decided I didn't want to read any more, it picked back up!

Explosive,
This book is fast moving, great twists, keeps you on your toes. It would make a good movie. I would certainly watch a movie based on this book.

Rose City Chic storyline was well developed from beginning to the end…. All the mind blowing twist and turns had my mouth wide open at some points of the story. The secrets that were revealed in this story will have you saying get the heck out of here, that was a real secret that had you saying "No Way". This story started off with action and pulled you in from page number one and did not turn you loose to the very last closing scene.. The bumps, the turns, the emotional roller coaster ride hold on to your seat; you are in for the ride of you life with Rose City Chic….
Characters: The characters were so developed that you felt like you truly knew these characters, and you could feel all the emotions that they go thru in this story… For Example, I could feel all of Shawnda' emotions that she with through in this story.. I was sad when she was sad, anger when she was angry the author did a great job …
Zeek - He was a snake in the grass character… He upset me throughout the story; he was nobody's friend and definitely was not to be trusted by no means…
Lakeisha- She had a hard life and she was searching for things that she had missed out on during her earlier years. Her need to be love and accepted cause her to stay with Zeek even when she knew it was living foul…
Tyshuan- He was running from love after he was setup and had to do some time in jail but once Shawnda comes into his life love hits him hard and he cannot run any longer. I am pulling for Tyshaun &Shawnda. I hope Shawnda get the revenge that she is seeking and live happily ever after with Tyshaun….
In conclusion
Beware of who you trust because they may just be the person that cause you some harm….

Even though I own some of Shelli's other books this is the first one I actually read. It was beyond the doubt good. The book did have some errors, but it didn't take away from the story line. Zeek is a trifling family member. I'm glad that he isn't a family member of mines. I can't believe the secrets that Shawnda mother reveled. This book had me at page one, and I'm mad that it ended so soon. I can't wait to crack open part 2.

THE FAMILY SECRETS WITHIN SHAWANDA AND KEY'S LIVES TO THE RIVALRY HEADED OFF BY ZEEK TOWARDS TYSHAUN, TO THE ADDED DRAMA OF EVERY SITUATION THAT KEEPS BUILDING UP MAKES FOR ONE FANTASTIC READ! Great Storyline!!!

Ehh..took a minute to start getting good and then when the book started to pick up...it ended! Around 80% the book was over and the rest of the book is a sample of another book. =( It kinda felt like it was an introduction to the characters or something.

Zeek is a messed up person. I wonder why is he so jealous of his cousin Ty. Shawnda had a rough childhood, but she had a man that loved her. It's a shame that a jealous girl took him away from her. I hope Ty & Shawnda can be happy together
