Fall for hot shifters and psycho fated mates in this complete four-book paranormal romance series.
One teensy pyro accident, and Trouble Garcia's labelled an illegal dragon and sent to Blacktower, the secret supernatural prison beneath the Tower of London. Trouble doesn’t have a single memory from before the fire, but the wardens don’t care—especially not the cruel Ravenmaster.
Thrown into a cell block full of dangerous shifters - two of whom claim to be her mate - Trouble has one chance to reduce her life sentence: unleash her dragon so the Ravenmaster can clip her wings. But no dragon rises to the surface, and secrets lie in the darkness of her memory that will change everything.
If she doesn't unravel the truth soon, she'll end up dead—or worse—and not even her new mates will be able to save her.
Her Shadowfire Mates is the complete Blacktower Prison for Supernaturals magical prison series, and contains a kick*ss heroine and the devoted shifter mates who vow to keep her safe—not to mention the gravelly voice in Trouble’s head who knows her too well, and the darkly alluring Overseer determined to unearth her secrets.
This scorching hot paranormal romance series contains: Prison of Embers Tower of Sparks Fortress of Flame Refuge of Firelight
Leigh Kelsey is the author of romance and reverse harem books for anyone with a soft spot for steely women and the tortured men who love them. I really enjoyed these books a lot! The characters were all different / unique from each other, all facing different pasts, all having their own skills and talents... it was really good!
The ONLY reason I took away one star was the very ending. First off, the last book had a few more spelling errors than the rest, as if it wasn't edited as thoroughly. No huge biggie!
The BIGGEST reason is the following: (WARNING: SPOILERS!!) Poor Jules was sexually assaulted by his mate's sister / step sister. When he and Trouble finally reunite, they do some things together but he told her he wasn't ready for more than that yet, due to his trauma (understandably!). I waited for the end of the book for them to talk it out and hopefully make it that next step together, but... it never happened. This tore me apart a bit, since they had wanted to be together for SO long. They did mark each other early on, at least, but... still. I really am disappointed they didn't get that far in this book. Also, unless I'm mistaken but I'm pretty certain I'm not, Trouble never marked Ravenmaster. I again waited for near the end of the book when he'd accept the bond and allow her to do it, but yet again - that step was never taken in this book.
These two things are HUGE, and noticeable points I waited for for a long time in the story... so, I was left wanting by the end, and couldn't believe there wasn't at least an epilogue for these. They kind of took away from the overall book and made a bit of a disappointing ending, in my personal opinion.
All in all, though - still a great book that I'd recommend to others to read!
I loved this series! The journey everyone had to go through was soul crushing. How everyone came together was done pretty good. I just feel like there was so much left untold on there journey. So much was left unresolved with trouble and Julian and there was no true closure with them. Still so much left to dig through with ravenmaster and trouble. Did Grizzly and his prince mate as well? There was just so much unresolved between the relationships of everyone. Also the future of there friends we never got any closure with them as well. I love this authors writing style but she needs to learn how to tie up her endings much cleaner. There are other series I would love to buy from her but I am nervous to if these are the endings I can expect.
The book Fortress of Flame dragged. Events were tedious and repetitive. After that the only moments of happiness for the characters seemed to be sexual. I’m a fan of erotic scenes and I appreciate fast paced, but not when it feels more like spinning wheels in place instead of progress. I think that both the characters and the reader deserved more breathers and joy. Overall I recommend the series and I will probably read more by the author.
*spoiler alert - at the end if there was any solution given for the poison Trouble was given that we were told she was addicted to and would need to take forever, it was a throw away line and I missed it. Not a good thing to leave unresolved.
This series was amazing. It has a kickass heroine and 5 awesome mates. All thrown into Blacktower prison for Supernaturals. Trouble doesn’t know anything about her life before being thrown into prison. A mysterious voice in her head is her only consolation but she fears she is losing her mind. One by one she finds her mates and they will do anything to keep her safe. The Warden is a sadistic unknown supernatural and when Trouble finally starts getting her memories back she remembers that she is a Phoenix and he hands her over to a equally sadistic Doctor. Everything goes terribly wrong from there. Action, drama and plenty of romance.
I've been reading through the night but it's Sooooo worth it! I can't say I've got any complaints... But I'd have Loved an Epilogue or 2 for what happened later down the line, 6mos, 5 years, 10yrs even?! But otherwise it made me laugh and even tear up a few times, which is a very difficult thing to accomplish except the Absolutely Most Skilled Authors and the Best Series.... Sooo Congratulations lol!!! I recommend this to basically Everyone (over 18!)
Loved the fmc and all her mates except Ravenmaster. He honestly didn't repent much for what he did to the fmc in the first book. Honestly he was rude , I expected Jules to be the broken broody one after what Harmony put him through, even the fmc to become numb and cold but Ravenmaster was the spoilt and shitty person. Trouble was a lovable character and so were her other 4 mates .
These books were great but when it comes down to Jules and Trouble never really had a sexual relationship yet. He was not up to the task of performing. I would’ve liked to see or hear or read about his understanding when he finally learned that it was not her sister who did that to him but the god of chaos. I think I would’ve liked it if the other guys to take away those memories from him.
I enjoyed all the books in this series and watching Trouble grow into a powerhouse but most of all I loved Ravenmaster and the journey he was on through all the books. Don't get me wrong I loved all the guys but something about Ravenmasters darkness just spoke to me. Definitely recommend this series.
Our girl starts with amnesia in a fire town with a mysterious man talking in her head as she gets captured and thrown into prison. Secrets and friendship being to reveal and grow with yummy mate bonds coming along. There is alot of pain and suffering but I am glad how it all worked out. Definitely enjoyed reading whole series in one shot
There was non stop action through the entire series. I didn't like the Ravenmaster at first but he did grow on me. Trouble was a fun and sometimes abrasive FMC but I fell in love with her heart. She loved her mates.....even the difficulty one and was very protective. Great story
The only way to read a series is to get them in a collection. There were LOTS of background characters, and it helped that a blurb was always added as a reminder. You would think that with 5 mates, there would be more going on, but sadly, no. The ending left some questions, but it was planned that way. I would recommend.
I loved the story from beginning to end. I found it difficult to put down. The characters were strong and also soft when needed. As I was reading I could visualise the black tower with all its inmates. Wonderful. I will definitely read it again sometime in the future.
At first it started off pretty ok then it started getting super confusing after the next book. I did like the characters but the development of the story took so long to happen. The book switched plots so fast Iam not even sure how it happened.
This series is good enough to complete mainly because I like completing series that I start, but there is a bit of repetition that could have been deleted and not detract from the gist of the story.
A few of the love interests don't do anything other than offend me. Not judging. This book wasn't for me. I wish the description had been more honest about the family component and the m/m relationships.
I loved every page of this amazing story. It grabbed my heart and made me feel every emotion so clearly as if I was part of the story. I would LOVE to read more from this author based in this world.
Loved this series! Loved all the men! Wished there was a epilogue a few months or years later but that's just cause I'm gunna miss everyone! I highly recommend this book
This is another must read series. I love Trouble and all her men. This series will be exciting and thrilling so much twist and turns. You’ll laugh, cry, get mad and very frustrated but you’ll love it. I’m going to miss Trouble and her mates.
I so loved this reverse harem paranormal series. Every character fit so well together, and the plot line was fantastic! I literally could not put the series down!
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. Even read through the night to finish the last book when the sun shone in the hope, fear, despair, strength all consumed me to the last word. I look forward to more stories from Blacktower. Highly recommend this author.
This was such a good read ! I loved it immensely! Especially that the “Mean” mate remained the same, like his personality didn’t change he was still obnoxious but treated her better. Very good series & loved how much this book made me laugh!
I couldn't put it down until the end. MCs were cool, went through some growing pains, and then, thankfully, ended on a high note. Read this series. You'll enjoy it.
This story kept me engaged through the series. I loved all her mates. They were really well written. The heroine was fleshed out really well. No character was a space holder. It had a little too much sex but even that was good reading.
This box series was so much fun to read!! I'm ready to read more about Trouble and her harem... I'd really love to see a series revolving around Haven!
Such a different storyline. I loved every minute. The characters were so well written. Just a wonderful read. Hope you enjoy reading these books as much as I did.
