Recommended when you are someone with a vulnerability for psychosis, you are a family member or a professional that works with patiënts that have this vulnerability. It is very easy to understand and is written by someone who experienced it himself.

My sister is a nurse at a psychiatric hospital and I have also been dealing with severe anxiety in the past year, so I had managed to get a personal perspective on such thing as well. I know it doesn't talk about anxiety and depression but psychosis, however, the meaning of treatment and psychiatric help really made me realise certain things. I know that family should be a big factor in the healing journey and how you should also do a lot of work by yourself, which I am doing and am really ready to go off my pills as soon as possible. I also realised that I have to take it easier than I wanted to. I remember when I wanted to get a stresful job after getting my medication and as soon as I got a little bit better I got that job and it really made me worse, so I had to quit and I even lost a friend because of that, which really broke me. He didn't understand my anxiety back then and I knew I disappointed him when I couldn't go to the concert due to my severe anxiety disorder. I was quite a bit depressed then because of my illness and this book made me realise that this is all part of a healing journey that I had to make. Right now I just finished my first year of college and I am working a low-stress job with a normal income. I am also planning trips over Europe, I read a lot, I write a lot... it takes a lot of work to do to get past some things.

Heel interessant boek voor personen met een psychose of iedereen die ermee in aanraking komt. Mooie tekeningen die het lezen vlotter maken.
