OMG! Well it only took a year. Okay, a year and four months. But Cafe Mocha Book 7 in The Zion Sawyer Cozy Mystery series is well worth the wait.

M.L. Hamilton has written three books in one with this addition to the series. The tiny mountain town of Sequoia is hit with wildfires - very much the real life of towns like that in California. Tate is on the frontlines as citizens, housed and unhoused alike, are evacuated to the Acorn Casino. Chaos and pathos abound.

Hamilton writes about the forest fires as though she has lived it. And indeed she has. In our latest episode of HAMILTON AND HAZEN: BEHIND THE MIC ML shares what it is like to live in a community with an actual 'fire season'. The tension that is built into this portion of the book was so evocative it required special audio treatment by producer Bruce Carver. We are very pleased with the tension-filled results. Listeners experience the flames chasing Tate down the mountain as he must evacuate on foot with a member of the homeless group forced to campout at a mountain rest stop.

Shenanigans at the Casino lead to barrels of laughter & fun. There is a particularly humorous incident between a cat and a chicken as told by Jaguar, Logan, Deimos and Noah. Suffice to say Señor Fluffypants "might not ever be the same."

Owner and operator of the Acorn Casino, debonair Lorenzo Whitefeather, shakes the very foundation of Sequoia life when he and Zion's BFF fall "in like." Will David Bennett, once kindly burned by Zion, now be scorched by Rebekah as well?

There are too many touching moments in this title to count. Not the least of which are Jaguar's soulful prayer sung side by side with the people of Sequoia from the Acorn parking lot, Rebekah's tearful admission during the Telethon organized to help the community get back on its feet, and Tate's powerful reaction to the climax of the story. You can get a sneak listen to many of these moments by visiting the Cafe Mocha soundbites on our Storyteller Productions Soundcloud page.

This is a delightful, not to be missed installment in this heartwarming series. It will make a Zion Sawyer Believer out of you!

Cafe Mocha (A Zion Sawyer Cozy Mystery Book 7) was a great read by M.L. Hamilton. It is Fall in Sequoia, and they are dealing with the California wildfires. The entire community fights to save the town. At the same time, Zion and Tate get swept into a new mystery. zephyrs uncle discovers a dead body that was in a burnt down shack. Tate and Zion open an investigations to save Alvin O'Malley, who people believe is the murderer. I loved the life that Kelley Hazen brought to the characters. I can't wait to read more by the author.

Zion and the whole crew are back. As wildfires approach their small town, there’s more trouble afoot. When a dead body is discovered in a burned out cabin, was it just unfortunate circumstances or is there a murder amongst them!

M. L. Hamilton has a way of pulling me right in to her stories. I’ve gotten to know the characters so well that they’re almost like family. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Kelley Hazen lends her voice talents to this next story in this fantastic cozy mystery series. I love how she provides a consistency across all the books. I’m always entertained when listening to her performances.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and extremely enjoyable. Autumn in Sequoia is beautiful, but can also be deadly as forest fires rage in the distance. The town is evacuated and as they wait at the Acorn Casino . Cabins on the outskirt of town burn to the ground. Zion and Tate have a new case when a burnt body is found in one of the homes. As always an awesome story with great characters that makes you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same moment. This combination of author and narrator is just pure enjoyment. Looking forward to the next book.

Gosh, another action packed story I could not put down! A natural catastrophe is exactly how it feel’s described in this book, how do I know? I was in one California earthquake 2/9/71.

I think this book is the best in series so far. There is murder, a troubled love story, a growing forest fire and chaos as the town evacuates to the casino. Oh there is also a reptile show at the casino! So much going on you have to concentrate fully. Great read.

I love the whole series and this one didn’t disappoint either. I love the dialogue between the characters which just adds to their zaniness. Now on to the next book in The series.
