Kennedy
I’m supposed to be attending a bachelorette party in 1923 but based on the stone hut and the giant warrior laying next to me, I think I'm about a thousand years too early. I don't understand a word he says but despite his hulking size, his battle scars, and the wolf he treats like a puppy, I feel safe. Cherished.
Njal
I’m a warrior. Though I long for a family, I vowed not to take a wife until my raiding days were over. Then, the prophecy came. With the first piece fulfilled, it became harder to ignore: I would love a goddess. Impossible. I live alone, far from others. But my goddess found me. And now that she’s here, I won’t let her go.
The Viking and the Raven is a fast-paced one hour read filled with Vikings, Instalove, Time Travel, and Steamy Romance.
I just absolutely love these books. I just want more more more. I love the characters and storyline so much. Now that’s 2 staying and Yvonne will be staying probably. On to the next one. 💜💜💜
Awww sweet giant Njal gets his goddess… and he has a pet wolf?! I’d climb him like a fucking tree!
Side note: these girlies are a little too ok with leaving everything behind and just living in the past… it would be fun for me for about a week or 2 especially if there was mountains of Vikings to climb, but no indoor plumbing would be the killer for me! And no books?! Fuck that!
🫑/5 I know it’s a short story, but the vanilla sex they had 1 time…? Meh
Much better than the first one imo but again I think the whole concept is really interesting but it needs to be longer and then these would be easily 4-5 stars depending on how much character development and lore we had.
A bachelorette party destination gone wrong…. What a wonderful start to this novella! Kennedy and Njal fulfilling the second part of the prophesy already have me wondering what will happen next.
I enjoyed the continuation of the ‘Living Past’ series. I liked that Kennedy stood up for herself at the end. Kjal was such a proper and mannerly Viking.
Honestly felt very much like I just reread the first book in the series. I'm still enjoying the concept so it's not all bad, but it felt a bit redundant.
Same as the first in the series, I would love just a tiny bit more.
We do get a glimpse of how Sabrina and Arne from the previous story are getting on. Since Sabrina is from the future/modern day, Kennedy finds a lifeline in her as she accidentally lands in the viking era instead of the roaring 20s like she was supposed to.
Was it really an accident or part of the prophecy? I love how a viking prophecy may or may not be affecting modern day events.
More importantly, who is the stranger Jarl Harald ran away with in the beginning? Pretty sure it has something to do with Living Past. Otherwise it would be just weird
Part of me is really glad that these stories take only take about an hour to read. A quick fix in so many ways! I don't have to read hundreds of pages to take one plot step forward, guaranteed HEA, and insta-love.
I enjoyed this short story. It flows nicely after the first book. I would prefer if they were a little longer but you get enough information about it as is.
I would liked to have seen more of a build up between Kennedy and Njal and their relationship. More of them getting to know each other or spending time together.
The author did a wonderful job and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
