A story for lovers of fine fairy tales such as Rainbow Rowell's Cary On, Ashley Poston's The Princess and the Fangirl, and Casey McQuiston's Red, White & Royal Blue.
Born and raised in a small town near the Chesapeake Bay, Lou Wilham grew up on a steady diet of fiction, arts and crafts, and Old Bay. After years of absorbing everything, there was to absorb of fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi she's left with a serious writing/drawing habit that just won't quit. These days, she spends much of her time writing, drawing, and chasing a very short Basset Hound named Sherlock.
When not, daydreaming up new characters to write and draw she can be found crocheting, making cute bookmarks, and binge-watching whatever happens to catch her eye.
This book is like a cozy blanket or a hot cup of cocoa. Its warm, comforting and full of wonderful characters. The queer rep is great and its nice to see diversity amoungst characters. Plus seriously, who doesn't need more Gwydion in their lives? Loved it! 😍
I look forward to the next Curse Collection book 💜
As a queer person/reader It's really nice seeing diverse sexuality.
So if you are queer or need more queer characters in YOUR life then I reccomend checking out Lou Wilham's books.
Another stellar book from Lou, we return to NYC to discover Gwydion's most recent curse. Darcie, with a little bit of help, runs a successful bakery in k-town. But when Gwydion realizes that the successful bakery isn't enough to make Darcie happy, they curse her bakes to taste how she feels. Enter Hari, an influencer extraordinaire, who comes to this bakery to help plan his cousin's wedding cake (with a surprise cameo from a past curse book!). A book full of feelings and fluff, this LGBT+ friendly read will have you searching through your own cupboards for sweets and treats and the hope of love and happiness, and goes to show that passion is really what makes us shine.
