Linsenbigler Damn the Torpedoes

Rate this book
The sixth book in the Linsenbigler series, DAMN THE TORPEDOES finds Boone Linsenbigler feted across the breadth of Australian as part of a publicity stunt featuring clues to a lost treasure. As the public fever for the four million dollars peaks, so does the dismay of international intelligence agencies about the source of his clues - riddles that are part of a nefarious Russian plot. Boone's life is cheapened by his seeming complicity, yet myriad foreign agencies clamor to protect him as he dodges increasingly perilous predicaments. An ultimate test of survival pits Boone against the limitations of his luck. And perhaps his bachelorhood.

LINSENBIGLER Damn The Torpedoes by Brian M. Wiprud hits all trajectories with 5 stars!

MY TEASE…

Reluctant hero or not, suave liquor-pitchman Boone Linsenbigler is considered an asset by international intelligence agencies like the C.I.A., A.I.S.E, and A.S.I.S. As such, the most powerful surveillance system in the world monitors his whereabouts to place undercover agents nearby (like his new Italian sidekick Gina) to ensure his protection. After all, Boone has foiled many geopolitical ploys in his past.

Until…

Until his nemesis (none other than Vladimir Putin) decides to permanently end his longstanding antagonism toward Boone by upping the stakes. Putin disables counterintelligence systems to initiate a diabolical plan to assassinate him. Now considered an international nuisance, Boone has been reclassified from an asset to a global liability.

It seems that Boone’s “warranty” has expired, and danger lurks above and below the water. Can he and Gina help turn the tides and survive?

THOUGHTS…

What a fun and exciting ride this sixth installment in the LINSENBIGLER series is! In fact, with the addition of Boone’s love-interest Gina, I think this book is my favorite (although I have loved them all)! DAMN THE TORPEDOES engaged me the entire time!

The author added footnotes to this installment, and I found myself reading every single one of them! Some were funny; others, informative. They worked for me because the author seemed to be playing his role as Boone’s memoir writer, which still had a fictional feel to it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed tagging along with Boone on his adventures! I feel like I really know him…lol! That’s great character development and I’m so glad Boone has found love! Character Gina was wonderful!

OVERALL:
