I found out about this book from tiktok andddddd
I didn’t love it.
I didn’t even like it.
and I feel bad bc the premise was so goooood.
A fae girl- pretending to be human- is trying her best to make ends meet by stealing magical items for other supernatural beings. She finds out her human boyfriend is cheating on her and ad she is trying to find a rebound, she ends up finding three. And plot twist, they are all part fae and have mated with her.
ahh so cute.
And it just so happens that she ended up stealing something really valuable from a very powerful vampire who is hunting her down. and her 3 new lovers are determined to protect her.
ahh love that for her!!!
but it was just terribly executed.
There was no build up to the characters. The main character repeats that her parents died, she doesn’t trust anyone and she’s strong and independent about 1000 times in the first chapter alone.
also after she meets the 3 boys, they go off on an adventure trying to free her from the grasps of a vampire she stole from, in the span of DAYS.
It isn’t believable😭😭😭
Where is the character development 😭😭
And the fact they keep repeating, yeah we are mates and she is still like oh why do they love me, why do I feel this way towards them? like miss girl they have literally been telling you since after the first sex scene.

I just can’t- the writing wasn’t there, the plot was just barely holding on, it was all very wattpad.
The characters had potential to be our new heart throb but the 3 boys sound and act the exact same way!!!!!! what’s the point of having three if they are all the same. 🙂
anyways, a bummer.

Bound to the dark is a brilliant start to the claimed by the monsters series. After finding her boyfriend cheating Kiara finds herself 3 hot and willing guys (North, Cain and Raven) to give her one steamy night of fun. Only things dont go exactly to plan afterwards.
Kiara is smart and witty. I really liked her. The guys definitely steamed up my kindle!! Its a cracking read and that cliffhanger ending was just kiler. Im looking forward to book 2 now

This was under 300 pages and it took me more than two days to read it. I feel like that says it all. I kept getting bored with it and putting it down which isn't what you want for your books, especially not when there's going to be two more before the story concludes. I'm on the fence on whether or not I want to continue with the series so I can find out what happens, but for now I'm putting it to the side.
I will say, though, that this had a good premise and I could see a lot of people liking it. However, the pace and lack of character development just wasn't for me.

The book is ok. It just feels like its missing something. The guys are very boring and all sort of blend in together. In fact, for a romance novel there is very little in the feelings department. They don't know one another before they sleep together and then its revealed they are mates. But they know next to nothing about one another and they don't really try. Sure, they sleep together some more..but attempts of building a relationship are not really there.
The story itself is there but also feels weak and lacking.
All in all it was a ho hum book that I don't really want to read the second to.

1.5 stars. Little to no character development or world building. The main character's sole personality trait seemed to be saying how she was a loner. The plot was also weak. I would not recommend, and I won't read more in this series or by this author.

Didn’t finish. Got about 30% through. Very spicy scene in the beginning that was good but the writing is just terrible. She had to have mentioned at least 20 times that her parents died and she is fae. Couldn’t stop rolling my eyes.

Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 4/5 ————> Paranormal with shifters, gargoyles, and demons with a side of vampires. Sign me up. Accidentally meeting her fated mates after finding her boyfriend cheating on her. The three *insta-love* help her by finding a relic that will get the vampires off her back. Things kind of backfire near the end.

This isn’t a bad book as far as I can tell from the few chapters I read.
But it’s SO freaking repetitive that I was already getting annoyed.
The sex that just happened before I decided to quit it was hot, and I’m sure the rest of it is hot too. It’s just not enough to distract me from the constant circular thinking this main character has going on inside her head.
And, I don’t know if there’ll be chapters with the guys’ POV or not, but so far there was only hers and I just can’t.
I’m just not in the mood to skim over the boring parts.
So.

2.5… I read this as a buddy read, and I think we all will come to regret our decision 🫣 The spicy scenes were ok, but the rest was just really boring. The narrator keeps saying the same things over and over, often in the same paragraph. It was so repetitive and just not very entertaining. I don’t think I’ll read the other 3 books just because I don’t want to weed through an underdeveloped plot in a poorly written adventure fantasy novel just for a few minutes of romance.

Sloppy
This was a very sloppy piece of work. The details are missing in quite a few ways. Like, where did Kiara get her own clothes? After meeting the guys she doesn't go back to her place but has clothes off her own? Supposedly she's on the pill, but had no purse and never took them. Her current classes at NYU are never addressed beyond saying she's enrolled. She acts in ways that don't match her origin story and we don't see any development of her character, just info dumps followed by 180's of her personality. There's no real relationship building either, just insta mates. The world building was barely there and there were plenty of chances for at least some info dumps to round things out... but nope. All in all, I'm mad that I wasted time on this.

Truthfully, it wasn’t that bad of a book. I noted a few errors, words missing and such, but it was only a few times. I didn’t really enjoy the plot - as it seemed much more geared toward “I get to have sex with multiple men”. If that’s your forte, go for it, baby! But I found myself skipping those pages more often than not, and by the end I was asking myself: what was the point of this? I have no interest in reading book two, but if you vibe with group sex, and surface level supernatural world-building, this is the book for you!

Tiene un novio humano pero este la engaña con otra, por lo que toma la decisión de ir a un bar y conoce a 3 chicos guapísimos y misteriosos. Que después de haberse acostado, aclaman que ella es su compañera.
-Vampiros: Enemigos de los fae. La sangre de los fae son como una droga para ellos, por los que los cazan, haciendo que los fae estén en peligro de extinguirse.
-Un vampiro poderoso va detrás de Kiara por haberle robado una gema.

Cain: mitad fae, mitad demonio

A pesar de que tiene muchas cosas que me llaman la atención, siento que no supieron aprovechar la historia y los personajes.
Aunque terminé de leer el libro y quise seguir con el segundo, le hizo falta demasiadas cosas.
Todo se dio muy rápido, me hizo falta una mejor construcción del worldbuilding.
Los personajes no me encantaron, no es como que me hayan dejado huella.
Por más que trate de buscar cosas positivas no logré hallarlas. Me entretuvo en pocas partes y tenía cierta curiosidad como para que siguiera leyendo el libro y ver cómo terminaba pero nada más.
Esperaba algo más. Sinceramente no recomiendo estos libros pero igual si quieren darle una oportunidad para que tengan su propia opinión adelante.
PD: la portada no tiene sentido. Es decir, son tres hombres ¿por qué solo ponen a uno?

I couldn’t finish once they got to the bad guy’s lair. FMC realizes it’s a terrible idea to give the ~sUpEr pOwErFuL magical item~ to the villain, but then two sentences from one of the MMC’s and she’s like okay let’s do it… wtf… it was okay until that part. The spicy scenes were good though 😅

Another TikTok fail
A great first night, then nothing for twenty chapters. They have to explain thirty times that she is their mate and she still doesn't get it. She is every trope. An orphan. Doesn't know her own power. And of course it ends with a kidnapping. Why wouldn't it? Every bit of this is the same old same old.
