When Grazyna Zaluski’s marriage takes an ugly turn, she finds herself isolated in a remote corner of Wyoming. Her husband’s family controls almost everyone and everything in the county… including the courts. Is divorce an option for a young immigrant living in the United States on a visa? Will her husband simply sweep away the problem of Grazyna, or even—quite literally—bury it?
Grazyna’s worried uncle begs Tony Valenti to take on the case. Tony and his partner don’t practice in Wyoming, yet going to bat for the vulnerable and downtrodden is what they do. They throw themselves into the fray and are quickly embroiled in a fight that may be to the death.
With danger also coming at him from unexpected directions, Tony must rely on his guts and guile to survive long enough to rescue his client… and himself.
Neil Turner is the author of the gripping and highly-acclaimed Tony Valenti Thrillers series. If you like underdogs battling for survival—John Lescroart’s Dismas Hardy, Greg Iles’s Penn Cage, Michael Connelly’s Micky Haller, or John Grisham’s Jake Brigance—it’s time to start reading Tony Valenti.
In this latest story in the series, Tony and his partner, Penelope, receive a request from the former town manager to help his niece . His niece lives in Wyoming and is having issues with her husband. Her husband's family has a great deal of influence in the county where she resides. They agree to take the case and provide the wife with steps that she needs to take in order to get a divorce. As it gets closer for the divorce, things begin to get difficult and require intervention on Tony's part.
At the same time this is going on, there are other issues in Tony's life that have him worried. To learn what events concern Tony, what events are arising due to the niece's divorce and how this all comes to a head, then you need to read this book. You won't be disappointed.
Good tale again with more of the action this time and very little of the courtroom activity. Both are enjoyable as the author spins them, so this was a welcome change of pace. Surprising how many times Tony gets into fights and is as big as his opponent yet gets himself kicked to the side.
A great title, captivating storyline and thrilling, highly recommended
In the past I’d made it a point to not read reviews b4 I read the book bc reviews can be tricky. For some reason I reneged on that point and decided to read the reviews to this book. I almost didn’t read this book bc reviews were a little discouraging. But I’m also the type of reader who doesn’t like to skip a book in a series so I decided to read it anyway. I’m glad I followed my mind to read bc this was a truly a great book. It kept my attention from beginning to end. This book was the best of the series. Excellent storylines. Great plots, drama, actions and characters. Not a boring chapter. But I do have a bone to pick with the author. Author, why you unalived 2 good people and kept that dimwit Gratzyna alive🤷🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. What in the heck would encourage her to take her naive butt to Wyoming to meet that conniving husband🤔? I love Tony but, wow, he not worth a penny when it comes to fighting🤣😂. I also love Tony and Britts, father and daughter, relationship. I also wish that Pat would stay in the friend zone. I just don’t see a good romance match with them. There are some heartbreaks💔💔 in the story.

This book I read was the first by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the action and the plot. Although this is not the first in a series of books, I did not feel that I was missing out on any of the back story. It was really good just learning about the characters and learning about their histories etc. I look forward to reading other books by this author and I recommend this book wholeheartedly to others. Thank you to the author and BookSirens for the ARC.
This was my fourth read of Neil Turner’s Tony Valenti crime/legal thriller series, and once again he didn’t disappoint. Like his first three books in the series, there was so much riveting, page-turning action to fill a great many storage boxes of police crime files. As this author progressed in A Time for Reckoning’s storyline, the stakes and accompanying risks escalated with a grand crescendo at the end. Turner is a master storyteller with a fluid writing style. Like the others, this book was pure entertainment. I will continue reading his series for sure.
I did like this book. However, for part of the book I was lost. It started out about Grazyna and what was happening with her. Then we jumped to Trish and what was happening with her. Then it seemed like quite a long time in the book before we got back to Grazyna. I would have liked it better if the two stories were separate books.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I’m enjoying the Tony Valenti series and thought this was the best so far until making the characters stupid was the way the author added drama. Tony didn’t take a picture of the car when he found it! Really! I’m not buying it. He can’t find the girl, couldn’t find the car, and the sheriff in town is against him. No, no, no. Then Graszny became dumber and dumber. Please, use a little more thought.
This was my fourth read in this series. It helps to read them in order. Tony and Penelope take on a case for their old nemeses Peter Zaluski. His niece is being hurt by her husband and she needs to get far away from him. The problem is that she and her husband live in Wyoming.
Tony's brother Frankie is still on the run. Tony gets in touch with one of Frankie's old army buddies to help him track him down.
Every time I an author they do a stupid book like this!!!!
I hated this book the author seems to think he can kill people off or get them raped and still be cavalier about it!!! How disgusting I couldn't even finish the damn thing . Do authors think we are cretins you almost always tell when a book is going to be just filler. But you keep hoping
I recommend that you read the earlier books in this great series first. You will love all of them. Even with a lot of characters, this book is easy to understand. By now, you will be a big fan of Tony, his family and friends. Plan on staying up late with this good mystery. I am starting the next in the series tomorrow!
Well if you are looking for court room drama this is not a book for you to read. Despite my disappointment I did read it. If you are looking for a focus type story line with a little action but a lot of personal type issues then it's yours to read. I wasn't thrilled with the story line and the issues were disturbing to me is the reason for the 3 star rating.
I now have the four books on Valentine's !! Get lost in the story, only to be anxious to read the next!!!! Thank you Neil for the "come to life" characters !!!
Tony Valenti takes on the case of Grazyna Zaluski. Her hopefully soon Ex-Husband owns pretty much everyone she needs to be impartial in order to gain a fair divorce. Forced into a corner, deportation and more is on the table is Tony cannot protect this young woman. A thrilling novel, that takes us on a look at the immigration courts and how some Americans’ take advantage of vulnerable immigrants. Toni is another powerhouse in this book, bringing justice to his cases against all odds.
