Shardae Reddick is drowning in debt. And if that isn’t bad enough, her daughter’s bad decisions are spilling over into her life and stressing her out completely.

She decides to put her problems on hold and goes on an all-expenses paid island vacation. In addition to relaxing in the sun and taking advantage of all the freebies, she intends to forget her inhibitions and enjoy a vacation fling—or two!
When she meets strikingly handsome Mikel Gregory, passion ignites and they indulge their lust. It was supposed to be a meaningless one-night affair, but the powerful connection between them is impossible to ignore.

They return home and begin a whirlwind romance. But it comes to a screeching halt when she discovers that Mikel has a dark secret that could not only destroy him, but could turn her life into a living hell.

True love requires compromise and sacrifice, but the question for Shardae how much is too much?

Shardae Reddick is a single mother, struggling to pay her bills while dealing with her stubborn oldest child. When her best friend offers a paid getaway, she plans to leave her problems behind and enjoy herself. What she didn't expect was to meet Mikel or have a one-night stand that carried over to her home. That is when the red flags begun to rear their ugly head…unbeknownst to Shardae. To make matters worse, her daughter's toxic relationship has gotten worse and she doesn't know how to help her.

Mikel has some deep rooted issues that he is masking, and until he addresses them, affect everyone around…including those he loves.

This book is a little different for @allisonhobbsbestsellingauthor, but worthy of 💎💎💎💎💎, for tackling two social issues that need more attention. The underlying themes of healing, compassion, forgiveness, humility and restoration were also visible throughout this book. I highly recommend this book.

True AH style! Wonderful, lively characters filled with colorful lives, believable passion and real emotions. It seems like I always know someone who mirrors Ms Hobbs’ people! And of course, the geographical setting for this story and most of her offerings is my beloved hometown of Philadelphia! An AH book is my ultimate, R-rated entertainment source! Allison, you are still my favorite Author!

Thirsty & Drunk more like it

Read this as part of a "Drunk In Love" marathon.

To be honest, the story was so dry and all over the place, i really had to push through.
