Set in the high desert of Southern Idaho, this is a story of family. When Stetson Hansen unexpectedly dies, his family's life must go on. His wayward brother, Kade, falls back on old bad habits. His widow Nora tries to find her bearings alone, not knowing who to trust. Their three sons adapt to life without Dad while navigating their own teenage struggles. As with real life, there is a villian who will never waste a crisis. Follow them through the first year as they learn from each other how grief changes a person, or doesn't.
Very poorly written. She couldn't even keep the name straight. She called main character Kade, then towards the end of the book she would randomly call him Kurtis. Sometimes in a paragraph she would call him both names. I was so confused! The storyline could have made a decent story, but this definitely wasn't done well. I felt like the end was just like, I'm not sure how to finish so I'll just wrap it up quickly with everything happily ever after. Definitely not impressed!
