Olive is a social activist who's just chained herself to a bulldozer—a bulldozer owned by spoiled, ambitious billionaire, Xavier Bentley.

Xavier is perplexed. Olive is a purple-haired firestorm full of drive and energy. She's completely different from any woman he's ever met and he doesn't know what to do with her. And, he's shocked to realize, he definitely wants to do something with her.

Olive scorns Xavier every chance she gets. But when she starts to learn there are reasons behind who he's become, her stubborn heart begins to melt. How can two polar opposites fall in love?

Billionaire Beagle is the fourth book in the sweet romance series, Maple Cove Dog Lovers' Society.

Although a small-town romance, this novel actually brings out a number of interesting facts such as the effect of large corporate-style businesses on small communities and the power of social media. Olive is driven by her anger making her an activist against large wealthy corporates, especially those that would take advantage of small communities that do not have the resources to fight them. Chaining herself to a bulldozer is an extreme measure but when she does damage to the owner's property, she finds herself in court. At the judge's discretion, Xavier is forced to employ Olive and she has no choice other than to work back her debt with her technical skills. Mutual respect develops between Xavier and Olive and as they find ways in which to overcome most of the objections to the planned development, they are devastated to learn that Xavier's father has other plans. I was disappointed that the novel came to an inconclusive ending, but it may be that the problems experienced by Xavier and Olive will resolve themselves at a later date. I received a copy of this sweet romance as a gift through Booksprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Another new favorite! :)

I believe I mentioned that Foxhound Foes (book 3) was my new favorite of the series, but Billionaire Beagle is a very strong contender! Again, I feel right at home in the quirky small town of Maple Cove, and it's lovely to reconnect with some of my favorite quirky characters. Olive has shown time and again that she is a force to be reckoned with, and I really enjoyed following her on her journey from handcuffing herself to a bulldozer to falling in like (and eventually in love) with Xavier - who turns out to be a genuinely nice guy instead of the cardboard-cutout villain Olive would like to cast him as.

One of my favorite scenes is when "the girls" (Quinn, Sam, Vi, and Dubby) help Olive get ready for her is-this-a-date-or-a-business-meeting, and I appreciate Vi's offer/threat to take Xavier down if Olive needs her to. I think everyone should have friends like these. :)

More please!

I’m a suspicious sort by nature, and like Olive, I didn’t trust that BigMart was entirely on the level with their plans. So, I was very curious how this was going to play out between the activist and the corporate shark. Olive and Xavier dragged me into their world and wouldn’t let me go. They’re both so much more complicated that we’d been able to see in the earlier books, and I was fascinated by their dynamic. Also, I’m not saying that you’re going to need tissues to read this, but there are a couple of very emotional scenes where I wish I’d kept them handy. Now, I’m desperate to know the rest of the story that epilogue kicks off.

I wasn't sure about Olive who was argumentative and difficult in previous books. She's still that way, but she's much more intelligent and creative and shows it with her social media ideas in this book. She was determined to fight against CEO Xavier and his big corporation to keep them from taking over Maple Cove and ruining the environment. Xavier was difficult too, but as he comes to spend more time with Olive and meet the people of Maple Grove he develops a softer side and becomes more passionate about his work. Olive's rambunctious friendly beagle was adorable. I loved her story about why she wears so much purple.

Olive starts off chained to a plow that Xavier owns, as a show of defiance to a plan of putting a very large development into their small town. As the two spend some time together, his heart thaws and allows changes to the plan to come out. Opposites attract in this story with drama, tension, surprises and romance. The characters are complex but heartwarming in their resolve. Great chemistry and intense feelings. Terrific ending.

People of Maple Cove are protective of their own especially in the case of Olive. She likes to fight the big companies and well, a lot of things. When Olive stands up against BigMart she finds herself face to face with the CEO of the company and what a handsome face it is. Xavier finds Olive to be like no one he has ever met before and so the trouble begins. This is a fun story with a few surprises and a sweet romance.

I am a volunteer ARC for this book for an honest review.? I loved it! This is a stand alone book but you also see the characters from the previous books which I love. It was great to see Olive get her own book and to see into her backstory as well as into Xavier’s. Even though they came from two different worlds they had similar hurts. From enemies to falling in love. The author pulls you right into the book that you just don’t want to put it down

Love this series and this one. Olive is a great character, she has so much spunk and just says what is on her mind. Xavier is so wishy washy. That's what makes them perfect. Loved visiting with characters from previous books. Great series and nice read.

The fourth book in the series strained credibility for me simply because of the whole billionaire thing. That being said, I still enjoyed it. Olive is just the kind of quirky character I love and it was interesting to see Xavier's development from a spoiled rich kid to a caring and thoughtful man. As always, the dog won my heart.

Another great Maple Cove Dog story. Maple Cove a small town that big corporations and CEO’s try to move in and ruin the small town charm. That CEO is Xavier and Olive is determined to stop him.

A fun story

The author did a great job of making Olive the best feisty female character I have read about in a story for a long time. She makes the whole story fantastic.
