All I wanted was a dreamy, winter wonderland to myself...
It was supposed to be an escape from the stress back home. A Christmas spent by myself, snowed in somewhere in the middle of nowhere. What I got instead was an unexpected roommate and a chance at my dream job.
It should have been easy to keep my distance and focus on the task at hand, but when it came to Luke, nothing was easy. His charm and sexy smile had me wanting to unwrap him as my gift under the tree. Which is why I couldn’t say no when he asked for my help with his sister’s last-minute wedding. The catch- I had to pretend to be his girlfriend AND a caterer.
Being a chef at an upscale restaurant was easy. It was the heat in his kitchen that I wasn’t sure I could handle.

When I read a Samantha Baca book, I know what I'm in for and each book is just as good as the last.
Snow Place To Go is a very short, steamy, forced proximity, fake relationship romance I thoroughly enjoyed. Luke, a wedding planner, and Tiffany, a chef and aspiring caterer, both are visiting a lodge to escape their families for Christmas. As luck would have it, the lodge is snowed in and overbooked so Luke and Tiffany are forced to share a room.
Throw in an unfortunate visit from Luke's family, a spontaneous wedding, former flings, and overbearing mothers and chaos ensue. Tensions are high as Luke and Tiffany must navigate a fake relationship and risk developing real feelings.
I really enjoyed this novella and was surprised how much was packed into this short read! I highly recommend this novella if you're looking for something to get you into the holiday mood!
From the beginning I was hooked. I love how the characters came together and their instant chemistry. This is a really cute quick read with lots of steamy moments and definitely a feel good read.
This was like a little slice of Halmark Christmas heaven. I loved the setup of overbooked cabins in a winter wonderland with 2 strangers agreeing to share. Ahhh it was so sweet with a dash of spice to keep you warm. Tiffany and Luke are Christmas magic.
I could write a whole thesis on all the things that did not make sense in this book.
I'd probably start by pointing out that whoever designed the cover decided to wing it instead of actually reading the book. Then I'd dedicate an entire section to all the underdeveloped drama: sexual harassment in the work place; fat-shaming; homophobic stereotypes; tons of family drama; a random ex coming in hot that I'm still trying to process her relevance. Novellas are short. If you're gonna address certain topics, why not stick to just one or two and do them justice, instead of melting-pot it and do it half-arsed?
The unnecessary was so overwhelming that we don't even know how they made up. Heck, we don't even get to see the weeding.
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this novel. One room one cabin trope, plenty of family bonkerosity (that a word?), good times, holiday feels, romance, steam, deep feelings, byronic heroes, overly-excited heroines.
Damn this novel was fun. I wish I could've been able to crash rooms with someone like Luke, but just minus the part of his bonkers family, and endless demands - sounds like a good time to me.
Despite hotel mistakes, Luke and Tiffany manage, despite having different ideas of having fun and enjoying the snow. I mean..plus the one cabin trope hehe - how can you deny good chemistry like that?
Both are struggling with demands from others, and fulfilling their wishes, you can see why they would connect. Despite their chemistry being a little too quick for me, I still regardless enjoyed the novel, the writing, the romance, the steam, bonkers family, mistakes-arooni, and much more, utterly devouring the novel.
Definitely makes me look forward to another novel by Samantha.
I'd never read this author before, but now I will work through her backlist! The writing is just top quality and the humor is so sharp! I absolutely LOVED these characters. I was literally laughing out loud to myself. The banter, the chemistry, the tension. It was holiday perfection. I just loved every minute of it. Definitely add this to your TBR list today. Happy reading everyone!!
This cute novella has everything: -forced proximity -witty banter -naughty time -a rousing game of Mall Madness -a crazy twist Such a cute, fun story. I loved it all!
Samantha Baca’s books are always the perfect book to read. Sweet stories with great characters. Hard to put down. I always find myself smiling and laughing as I read anything by her.
Tiffany and Luke were the perfect couple to kick off my holiday book binge read. Short, sweet, and steamy - the perfection trifecta for holiday romance.
This is a cute, fun wintertime read that will help get you in the holiday mood. Luke and Tiffany are each avoiding their familes at Christmas, little did these two know that fate would intervene as they both were assigned cabin 6 on their two separate reservations. With snow falling and likely blizzard conditions not far behind, they make the unconventional decision to share cabin 6. During the length of their stay they find out they have a lot in common, along with their work which goes hand in hand (she's a caterer and he's a wedding planner) and as their conversations flow effortlessly and their chemistry heats up. Until.......his family shows up and the drama begins then his wife...... what??? wife???? Can Tiffany forgive Luke of his lie by obmission? Will Luke and Tiffany be able to work thru the drama and find their HEA? Even though I wasn't thrilled with the ending, I can appreciate the Hallmark movie like quality to this novella length read which has me recommending Snow Place To Go especially if your looking for a quick, fun, holiday read. Even though I received an advanced review copy of this book, I am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.
Snow Place to Go by Samantha Baca is pure holiday magic. From the snowy lodge setting to the forced-proximity sparks between Tiffany and Luke, every page brims with warmth, humor, and sizzling chemistry. It’s the kind of story that makes you want to curl up with cocoa and believe in love.
What makes this novella shine is its balance of charm and depth. Tiffany’s ambition and vulnerability feel genuine, while Luke’s mix of charm and sincerity makes him impossible not to root for. Their banter is flirty, their attraction undeniable, and the emotional beats land with authenticity.
Ms. Baca delivers a festive romance that’s fun, heartfelt, and satisfying proof that the best holiday treats often come in small packages.
Samantha Baca's "Snow Place to Go"* is a charming, heartwarming romance that delivers on both humor and heartfelt moments. The story follows a talented female chef and a witty male wedding planner who, after running from their busy lives, find themselves stranded together in a cozy snow-covered cabin. Forced to share a room, their connection grows as they engage in a fake dating scheme to impress the male character’s family. What starts as a playful ruse soon blossoms into a genuine romance, full of banter and emotional depth. This quick read is a delightful escape, offering a perfect blend of warmth, wit, and love—making it well worth the read for fans of cozy, feel-good romance.
Tiffany finds herself having to share a cabin due to mistake with overbooking. Now she has to think about how handsome her new roommate is. Luke has to arrange his sister's wedding at that same hotel. He knows Tiffany is a chef so he asks her to be the caterer. There's romance between the two even though Luke's mother is not happy about it. The wedding is a hit and Luke asks Tiffany to be the caterer for the future weddings he plans . Now that the wedding is over, how will Tiffany and Luke deal with their budding romance?
Samantha Baca is my go-to for holiday novellas that have all the makings of a spicy Hallmark Christmas movie! This book may be my favorite yet! I love the quirky and corny love story you're looking for in a book like this! This story was especially great because the main characters are so independent in their professions, and it all comes about when they get to work together, it's like they were meant to be! Perfect story to get me in the winter weather mood!
When Tiffany and Luke plan on renting a cabin and getting snowed in for Christmas to avoid their families the unexpected happen. Two strangers put in the same cabin try to make the best out of a bad situation. This may have been short and fasted passed but full of the unexpected. Great characters and story, win for me.
Samantha Baca always does such a great job writing stories that pull me in with wonderful characters and an entertaining story. Who wouldn't want to get snowed in with a hot guy and then fall in love!?! I'm a sucker for hallmark type books and she adds the perfect amount of spice.
This was another of these novellas where the ending makes no sense is wayyyy too rushed and would've been better suited as a longer story. The chemistry was tepid at best and the spice just felt like it was forced. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but I want more out of holiday novellas.
Some novellas are instalove, but not this one. This one is instawedding and not our couple's... I couldn't get past the idea that our couple was going to plan and cater a 150 person wedding with 3 days notice, in the middle of a snow storm.
I enjoyed these characters. They were sweet and fun. The story moved smoothly and the ending was chefs kiss! The author really knows how to right cringy characters. The mom was so wow!!! Fun christmas read!
This was a refreshing, quick read - just what I needed as a palette cleanser! There were a bunch of cute and funny moments throughout the story. Tiffany and Luke seem like a good fit. I only wish it was longer (the ending felt a tad rushed) but I enjoyed the book!
I loved this adorable little Christmas love story. Loved the characters. This was a quick read, and I enjoyed seeing these characters fall for each other.
